  1. hi! my category is IR2 and my interview was last Jan 11, 2016! :) me and my twin sister are APPROVED too! yay! :)) my ceac status is already issued. i hope i can get my passport and visa packet soon :) congrats to those who were approved and goodluck to those who have their upcoming interview :)

  2. i would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone here in VJ. Thanks for helping me and answering all of my questions! I came prepared at my interview yesterday, Jan. 11, 2016 because of the help of you guys! :) thank you so much! i'm lucky enough too that the american consul only asked me like 4 super basic questions then he already approved me. :) than around 11pm yesterday (phil. time) I checked my ceac status and its already "ISSUED". I hope to receive my passport and visa packet soon! thank you guys so much! without the help of all of you all, it would be hard for me and my sister to prepare for our interview! Goodluck to all you who have their upcoming interviews! you guys can do it! and to all who's still waiting at NVC, you'll get there! BIG patience is the key! :)

*btw, I just noticed that they let us fall in line in every step instead of flashing our number in the cue board.. that's why it was easier and faster to finish.. it was first come first serve basis/first to finish the step first to get in line at the next step basis at the embassy yesterday.. i don't know if its already permanent or the cue board is just broken. anyways, it was faster. :))

I hope to be reunited with my mom after almost 8 long years!! i'm excited :))

  3. I had my first Medical exam Last Wednesday (dec 16, 2015) at St. Lukes Medical Center (Extension Clinic) in Ermita. My mom wants me to do my medical around 3 weeks before my interview so that ifever theres a problem with my results, we can reschedule my interview early. I was supposed to go with my twin sister but unfortunately she had her first day of menstruation last tuesday (awwww). I still decided to go even though there was a storm called Nona and even though my sister is not with me.

So here are the things you need to bring:

    * my category is IR2 so i dont know to other categories if they need something more

    1. passport

    2. Photocopy of passport bio page (1copy only)

    3. Online Registration form (if you registered online. 1 copy only)

    4. Interview Letter (2 copies)

    5. 4pcs. 2x2 picture (no earrings, ears must be visible and white background) write your full name at back of every picture.

    6. ballpen

My first day (dec. 16 2015)

Step 1: since theres a storm, I decided to go not so early so i arrived at 6am. There is only a few people when I arrived, I guess because of the storm. So i showed the guard the requirements and then he gave me a number (mine is 12) and i proceeded inside.

Step 2: There were numbers for people who registered online and for people who didnt registered online. When I got in there is no line actually so I immediately went to a counter (counter J). I gave her my requirements and she asked me few questions like who is my petitioner, do i have other relative that will be petitioned with me (in my case, my twin sister), my Date of birth, and i forgot the others. After the questions, she asked my to scan my right pointing finger 4x. then she took a picture of me.

Step 3: The girl at counter J asked me to proceed at the cashier in 5th floor. I rode the elevator to 5th floor. The cashier is just beside the elevator. there is no line so I immediately paid 11, 300 pesos to the cashier. (remember that they accept credit cards and checks and dollars). remember to keep the receipts because you need to show that to every remaining steps.

Step 4: after paying they asked me to go to 4th floor for my blood test. I gave my receipt and passport to the counter in 4th floor then they gave me a barcode that i will give to the nurse. I waited to be called. they called my name around 30 mins and I proceeded inside the room and then they took a blood sample from me and then I gave the barcode to the nurse who took my blood sample.

Step 5: the nurse told me to proceed to 3rd floor my xray. I gave my receipt and passport again to the counter in 3rd floor then the receptionist gave me a paper to fill up. They will ask your first and last menstruation so remember the dates or make a lucky guess :)). after i submitting the form and old xray result the receptionist ask me to go inside the female xray room. There were a lot of xray gowns inside so i chose one then get inside the other room to remove my shirt and bra and to wear my xray gown. After that, i waited a bit then the girl called me and took my xray. She gave back my receipt and asked me to proceed to 2nd floor.

Step 6: I gave my receipt and passport to the counter in 2nd floor then he gave me form to fill up again then after i finished filling up the paper he asked me to sit and wait for my turn to be interviewed by the doctor ( by the way, this is Immunization interview already). then when its my turn already, the doctor asked me a lot of question like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, etc., then I am done.

Step 7: the doctor asked me to proceed now to 5th floor for my physical test. I went to 5th floor, dropped my receipt at the box in vital counter and waited for my turn. The nurse in vital area called my name after 40 mins and took my blood pressure and weight. then I took a sit again and waited for my name to be called again. after 15 mins, i was called and asked to go inside a room for my height a eye test then after that i waited to be called again for my interview with a doctor again. i was called a the guard gave me a number and i went outside room 5 and waited for my turn. So when it already my turn, i went inside room 5 then the doctor asked me questions again like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, If I traveled abroad for the past 6mos., etc. . then the doctor askede to go to the US counter and give my receipt.

Step 8: the receptionist in US counter asked me to proceed to 3rd floor for Check out so I proceeded and then I gave my receipt at the check out counter and I waited to be called again. The guy from the checkout counter called me and gave back my receipt. He told me to come back on dec. 17, 7:15am for results. So after that I went home.

    My Second Day ( Dec 17 2015)

Step 1: I arrived at St. lukes at around 7am. I'm so nervous to show my receipt to the guard (hehehe). I showed my receipt to the guard and I was praying not to get a "sputum" stamp. The guard checked my status then he stamped "Counter A Medical on process". I dont know what that stamp meant and i got so nervous because of that stamp. I just made myself think positive that atleast I didnt get a "sputum" stamp. So the guard told me to proceed to counter A and drop my receipt. So i waited to be called. I was nervous because some people that are being called were advised to have fasting (idk why). But there were other people that was asked to proceed in 2nd floor and have there vaccines and I was one of them!! YAY! the girl told me to wait for my name to be called at 2nd floor and they will be the one to give my documents to the nurse at the immunization.

step 2: I immediately went to 2nd floor and I waited for my name to be called. i waited for 2hrs I guess? when i was called, the nurse asked me questions again like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, etc. (same old same old). But unfortunately, they need my sister's meical results before they can give me vaccines. so the nurse asked me to tell my sister to take her medical exam asap even though she has menstruation so that I can have my vaccines. he told me that if my sister finished her medical early on the next day, i can have my vaccines at around 4:30 pm

My third Day (dec 18 2015)

So my sister did her medical exam earlier this day and finished early so that is my cue that i will go and have my vaccines in the afternoon.

I arrived 4:15pm at St. Lukes, i showed my receipt to the guard and he stamped "immunization" to my receipt (YEHEY!) and i went straight to the immunization room to give my receipt to the nurse who advised me to go today. After 10mins, the nurse called my name and he checked my sister's result and when he saw that my sister's result is okay and ready for immunization, he gave me 2 shots of vaccines. 1 on the left and 1 on the right. it's pretty ouchy though.

I waited for the result at the ground floor. i was called after 1 hour. The guy asked me to check if my name and DOB is correct and asked me few questions about who my petitioner is, if my address in the US is right and etc., then the guy gave me the xray result in cd, immunization record that I will bring in the US and the envelope that I will bring in US embassy on my interview. and he told me GOODLUCK to my interview. :)

that was it! I passed my medical and i'm glad that my sister passed too :)) sorry if theres a lot of grammatical errors. :((

GOODLUCK on your upcoming medical examination!

  4. My scan date is 22 oct dint receive cc email yet called several times got to know over fone tht my case is complete but no email yet???

since you already know that you are case complete, i guess, you should now wait for the interview schedule than waiting for CC email. i heard that some really dont get any CC emails so relax :))

  5. There is no need to spend time and/or money to ask a lawyer. There is nothing wrong with the AOS if you got this far, however, it is the consular officer that makes the decision to issue the visa - NOT NVC. The consular officer will have what you sent to NVC, however, they are free to ask for additional documentation including a updated AOS. Also if you sent copies of civil documents to NVC you need to bring in the originals at the time of the visa interview.

According your profile are is your interview at the Embassy in Manila? Here is a list of documents that the embassy says you must bring to your interview: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/feb2015/IV%20Applicant%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_February%202015_.pdf Starting on page 3 of the document it mentions the Affidavit of Support, so since it is mentioned I would bring an updated affidavit of support.

i just received my new AOS from my mom :) thank you so much! i now just getting ready for our medical. thank yoiu again for the replies! it really help us a lot. :)

  6. To be on the safe side I would just go ahead and do a new Affidavit of Support (I-864) and have it taken in-person to the interview. Maybe it was an error, but it is always better to be over prepared then to get denied or administrative processing just because you forgot one thing.

The embassy that my in-laws were interviewed at sent us an email a week after they received the paperwork from NVC on what needs to be brought to the interview. It did mention a new I-864 from the petitioner with paystubs or proof of employment for the last 6 weeks. So, my wife did a new I-864 for them. The checklist said an I-864A if the petitioner is married. My wife emailed them saying that her income alone was enough to support everyone according to the income guidelines. They replied back that an I-864A was needed. So, I filled out the I-864A and had to sent it overseas by DHL because they wanted the original signed form. Turned out when they went to the interview the consular officer said the I-864A from me wasn't needed.

i just got my interview schedule today! :) i told my mom about what you said. she just dont understand what's wrong about her AOS. she dont know if there is something wrong that needs to be corrected :( she might ask a lawyer about it because she is confused :(

  7. I am now case complete but recently i received a checklist again from NVC. They told me that my AOS is missing/incorrect so i need to redo it and bring it to my interview but my twin sister didnt receive any email like what i received so it means that her AOS is correct or not missing while mine is missing/incorrect. should I call NVC about it? cause my mom doesnt know what's wrong about my AOS.. she's already stressed :( i wanna help her out.

  8. Congrats!

When my wife went through NVC for her parents it took them 1 month to approve her mom but 3 months to approve her dad. The reason it took so long for her dad was because they, NVC, lost or overlooked some of his paperwork. One of the documents that we sent in, they said was missing, but it turned out it was sitting in the file the entire time and took a supervisor to pull the file and say it was there.

I have a slight problem tho... I am now case complete but recently, the NVC emailed me again with a checklist.. they told me that I am already case complete but I need to redo my AOS and bring it to my interview while my twin sister didnt receive any email about that... do you think they misplaced my AOS? :(( or should I call NVC to ask about it? :(

  9. I know its too early to celebrate or what but I just got my CC email today after 43 days! may scan date is last Oct 19! I just wanna share cause i thought it will take 4 months because some of the topics that I read about CC, it took them 4mos. or more. i'm just so happy :) I hope i can get my interview sched soon! :)

  10. just wait. or call NVC every now and then for an update. My D260 was reviewed fast. within 30days. i dont know why you have to wait for 42days. that sucks. i hope they can review it faster so that you dont have to wait for 42 days.

  11. If I were you, I would use the earlier appointment I made if I completed the medical requirements and I got all the necessary documents for interview. Why wait longer? But I f you choose the interview date given by NVC, yes , you have to cancel the earlier appointment you make online.

thank you so much! as soon as your son is done with his interview, please update me about the questions :) it would really help me :) thank you again for the answers! :)

  12. My husband is petitioning my son 16 years old, under IR2 and we got scheduled interview on November 24, 2015, I am gathering all the documents we will be needing and I check the site of USEM, YES you need CENOMAR for IR2 visa, all applicants above 18 years old. If you'll visit US Embassy Manila Site, there's a picture of getting NSO, CENOMAR etc. , if you click the CENOMAR, it has instructions. Hope it will help you. Good luck.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! i'll get a CENOMAR through online nalang. maybe i should get it early so that i wont be worrying about it as soon as i get my interview schedule! :) thank you again!! :)

years ago, after my interview for ir2 the embassy submitted request to NSO for my CENOMAR. it took 2 weeks. I dont know if I am supposed to bring one that time but i remembered its not listed on the letter of interview because if it was then i should have gotten it, i guess they have to request it themselves. again, this was years ago

THANK YOU!! how about the affidavit of support.. i'm worrying cause i dont have the original copy with me cause my mom sent it to NVC.. i only have the scanned copy.. do I really need to bring the original copy? :((( or i can just bring the scanned one since we sent the original to NVC and they should send it to USEM? :(

  13. I'l share to you what I did, and it works on us.. I called up NVC and ask them if they send my son's case (IR2) to Manila Embassy, until they said yes, I checked our case status and say its READy, eventhough I don't get NVC instructions yet, I schedule an interview and print the confirmation, you can always cancel and reschedule anyways..

OH!! thanks! so as soon that my case is complete.. i can schedule now my interview? then ifever i receive an email about my interview sched then i can cancel the interview that i sched for myself? :)))
