Hi This is about working after getting the greencard.

My husband has the K-1 visa still on his passport but he has gotten a job where he will be traveling. He has already gotten his greencard. When he travels and his passport shows the K-1 visa, won't that be a problem? Do I need to do anything about it? Will they just know? I'm really confused about this so a thorough explanation would be very very much appreciated!

my husband got his vaccinations done in the UK while he was getting his medical exam done. They gave him the immunization record with the signature of the physician. It says on the document, U.S. Department of State for use with DS-2053. Now, Does he still need to get and I-963 (?) filled out by a civil surgeon here in the U.S? I called 2 officies and they are just not understanding it. They are saying about $300. Should I just send the vaccination record he has from U.K in with my I-485 AOS without the I-963?

Okay quick question. I live in california. Do I send the I-765 and the I-485 to the Chicago location? This is for AOS and EAD for K-1.

Is it better to file EAD online seperately from the AOS package or is it better to send them all (AOS, EAD,etc) together in the mail? Would they both take the same amount of time or would submitting the EAD online be quicker? Thanks

is my husband allowed to work while his EAD and AOS are pending? I mean once we send the file and get our confirmation letter is he allowed to work during this pending time?

i think i want to go through this process all again please and does anyone know a good psychiatrist hehe

MY Case GET RECALL after my Interview APPROVED!!!, I just got a call from my Embassy

Our case has gone all the way through the process and just before picking up the visa it was recalled!!!!!

oh i forgot to tell my story. my fiance wore a suit. he went there and they called him up about 9:25ish. His number was 007 and was called to window 16 (this is a bit strange cuz these #'s are always good numbers for us...every visit i made has been on the 16th and his # for almost anything has been 7). maybe im just overthinking it but luck was on our side. he went up to the window and there was a lady. she said to him 'you are looking so handsome' my fiance laughed and said 'thank you' 'are u sure u are not getting married today?' then she said 'dont forget me at ur wedding' and our visa was approved. she asked him 'when r u getting married?" and then he told her our wedding date. she said 'where are u from?' he said india to which she replied 'i need to go there to find myself a husband' then she told him to sit for 5 mins. after that they made him swear that everything is true and told him he'd get his passport and visa in 2 business days max. so basically they didnt ask him anything. i dont mind him being eyecandy if it means getting his visa he immediately called me and had such a sad tone. i got scared and then he screamed and said GOT IT!!!!!! after that i have not been able to sleep. he will be coming this SUNDAY cant waittttt. oh yea and they didnt look at anything in our file...they just took all the necessary documents and thats it. so anyone with london interviews. relax!! all the panics and worries are going to no use...the interview is a piece of cake! THANK YOU ALL for helping me get thru this IMBRA stuff. I will be sure to update as things proceed. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU who have interviews coming up or who r stuck in the trap of the IMBRA. Will pray for you.

My interview was cancelled on May 11 ..

same situation… Today I was talking with Embassy again, when I asked them if they returned my petition back because of IMBRA, they said- yes. That’s all what I’ve got from them. Polak got his interview rescheduled very fast So hopefully it won’t take a long time

Tomorrow my fiancé going to call to USCIS.. I’ll post you the answer. Everything will be fine.. we just have to be patient. We already went through all process that mean our petitions is ok… Right?

i think ours got rescheduled quickly because our NOA1 was Jan. 5th so this law could not be applied to our case. i dont know how long it will take for those of you affected by IMBRA and had their interviews cancelled. our interview is tomorrow =) GOOD LUCK i hope yours gets rescheduled very soon! Just know that sooner or later you guys will be together. the meeting is just going to be sweeter with time. =)

yea ours took about 2-2 1/2 weeks. london is fast. be happy. we are one of the lucky few.

I’m just wondering.. How it possible for them to send our petitions to the NVC and then back to embassies for one week?? They cancelled your interview on 05/10/2006, so they spent 5 days to complete checking. Am I right?

i dont think they ever sent it back. they realized their screw up and fixed it without actally sending it back. just a guess tho!

You are missing your Criminal Affidavit. Did you file one with you original Petition??

what criminal affidavit. I followed all their requirements. All i needed to submit at the time was my I-129F with the evidence. It never said anything about a criminal affidavit. Plus my petition was filed before this law so it shouldnt even affect me! but still they cancelled our interview =(

That does sound weird, I use a phonecard too to call the embassy, maybe you can find some way, I hope you do.

Good luck this week, as I think we are all hoping and praying for some change. I 've been praying everynight religiously, if anything it helps to boost my moral just a bit, I felt I was heading for depression.

it sucks to be so close to being with your fiance and then having the rug pulled out from under u when u least expect it on a subject u NEVER expected. I wrote to my congressman and I really hope he starts working on it tomorrow. I'll be making the routine USCIS, congressman's office, NVC calls every day of the week until i get an answer i like. No, not yet, I emailed the embassy on Thursday and my Congressman yesterday. since its still the weekend now...I hope I get some answers tomorrow from the consulate at least, if not I'm calling them early in the morning so I'll let you guys know if anything new happens.

my fiance got the call the day before his interview (1/2 hr before the embassy was going to close) to tell him his interview is cancelled. I sent a letter to my congressman (since they asked for my authorization form and proof of approval and an explanation of what happened) and i have been calling uscis nvc and my fiance has been calling the embassy. none of which are helpful cuz they dont know anything about where our petition is or what the imbra is. ughhh. we are in the same boat. lets hope it works out by this week.

I've been told by someone that us the petitioners should be the ones calling the embassy and all that good stuff, and that they will do very little if the foreign fiance calls. Plus I've been told we need to keep on calling and not stop!!! Its all a matter of just beating the system

This information I got from a woman friend who came to the US on a K-1 visa, who was not supposed to come within the 3 years after her visit here, but after her American fiance pestered and called, and begged and called,she was allowed to come, and very fast I may add. I hope this gives us hope too!

I have tried to call the embassy but it doesnt work cuz the # is only good for UK people. maybe from a landline it would work? i tried calling from my cell phone with a phonecard. i just hope everything works out this week.

when we print out our statements...do we print out everything? like all the charges you made or just the deposits? and is it deposits or credits to your account? Like if i had direct deposit it is seen as a credit to my account so would i just print out all that is credited to my account?

I'm pretty sure they dont want anything more than the date it opened, the deposits, and the current balance..

Too much information sometimes gets on their nerves... If you can't avoid the other stuff, just highlight the fun stuff.

i mean deposits is the money you add into your account. well for work i have direct deposit which credits my account and when i try to get all the deposits on my account it doesnt show anything. when i do credit it shows all the direct deposited checks. so would i print that out?
