Awww Mahn this sucks. I just read we had to include a copy of our GC- front and back otherwise your package will be returned. . I didn’t include that in my package. This really sucks tbh 

Hi May filers, the lucky ones, can someone please add me to the list. Mailed packet May 15th, delivered/CSC received it on May 17th...check cashed on May.......I’m kidding lol still waiting for check to be cashed like everyone else. I wish all of us the best . Thank you 

Krutarth, thats what i did. I typed it on Word, printed it out and took it along with me.

My visa was issued on Tuesday, I got the tracking number on Wednesday at about 12pm, Thursday at 11am my passport was ready for pickup in Markham, Ontario.

Any recent reportings of how long it is taking for Montreal to ship their passport and visa back? Would it be faster if we change the delivery pick-up location to Montreal?

Our interview is September 7th.

The only one i can think of is the one that caused me delays which is--- take all original documents that they've requested for you to bring. The interview itself (for me) was 10seconds long, he asked where my husband works and that was it.

sorry, i don't really understand your question...your passport should be with you and if everything goes well in the interview, they'll take it from you to process/put the visa in it and once thats done, they will mail the passport back to you.

Take every single original document you sent them....if you have an attorney, have him email you everything he sent them as well and go with the originals to the interview (this was the mistake that cost me an additional 8 weeks to get my visa....please don't make the same (very much avoidable) mistake i made.

Hey leejy, thought to let you know mine has finally been issued. PHEW. now i'm just waiting to receive tracking number and details so i can buy my ticket and head HOMEEEEE. I wish you a much FASTER processing time than mine.

oh no it's been 7 weeks since they received the additional document & passport..... and 3 weeks since they received the passport after i had requested for it. SIGH!!!! Hopefully it doesn't take 10weeks ...please GOD.....and i'll definitely keep you updated on anything...please do the same. thanks

Thanks for your update Mavin, I really appreciate your info, as I think we are at about the same spot... except now, I think we are at the back of the line again...... Is it 7 weeks since you first submitted your documents and passport or 7 weeks from the day you returned your passport?

I know, it's ridiculous how they just automatically send the passports back when you have not said that you would want it back yet... Was just asking if it would be possible to request if needed....

I have no idea if that's normal, doesn't sound right to me if you requested for just your passport. And that's somewhat what they did to me, I requested for mine and told them if it won't arrive by June 30th, they should keep it as i won't be needing it anymore......they still sent it on July 7th. smh

Two days ago, our attorney was able to speak with someone at the consulate about my case, they told him it has been approved but there are delays in processing visas this time because most of the government officials take vacations during this period and that they are very behind in even responding to emails. Monday will make it 7 weeks for me. sigh*. Well I wish both of us Good luck, hopefully it all goes faster hereon.

So... Just thought I'd give you an update.

I think yes, every time they receive your e-mail request and they open up your file, the status updates.

They finally e-mailed me back, but didn't say whether it'd be processed before the second week of August or not, just automatically sent us the passport...

I assume that means it won't be ready on time. Their automatic reply now said that they have a lot of visa requests this summer, and whatever documents they are receiving nowadays will take up to 10 weeks for processing....

Here is a question though - we just requested for my passport, but they pulled out all my family members' passport and sent them ALL... Is this normal?

P.s. I did not receive any replies to any of the emails sent so I'm really praying and hoping the date updated because they are processing my visa.

The date on my case was updated today but like I said I sent emails 2 weeks ago, I also sent one again about an hour ago so I don't know if that's why the date was updated. Leejy, i know you sent emails weeks back so im wondeting if the date on your case updated as well?

Hi LetsGoToUs, I'm just curious if you were requested to send an additional document after the interview? I'm just so surprised that they could put one in AP for over 8 weeks, now I'm getting very nervous. During the interview, They requested for me to mail my passport along with the additional document needed then my visa will be processed. I was just wondering if that's what you were told or if your case is similar to mine

Btw I've been in AP for exactly 6 weeks today. I have not received any replies to my emails to Montreal from 2 weeks ago, no updates nothing. *sigh*

I guess because I requested for the passport during July 1st and 4th holidays, it basically took 8 days to get back to me. Requested for it on June 28th, received it on July 8th- quickly mailed it back as i did not need it anymore. Fingers crossed!!!!! soon we get what we have been waiting for- ISSUED.

Yes mine too (the young guy, with glasses and blonde hair), he said "no problem, just send the original birth certificate and i will process your visa", in my mind i interpreted that as MAX one week, i'm actually laughing at my stupidity and ignorance right now ....had i known.

Thanks for the info! I am going to wait until first week of August, if I do not hear back from them, I will request to return my passport... Just need to really know how long it will really take for me to get it back... How long did it take you to get your passport returned temporarily? I did send them an e-mail asking about my status as I need to travel in August and would need my passport... It's been 3 days and no answer... I really shouldn't risk it, but I just don't know what to do at this point.

Finger crossed, our status will change to ISSUED very very soon... It has been so frustrating for sure...

The officer who interviewed us was so confident that we would get our passport back on time..... It was obviously not true :'(

Hi, yes, i sent them an email to return my passport but now i'm just so worried and i'm hoping my 8-week wait did not reset to when i returned the passport back to them.

Honestly, if i were you (like what you have to do in August is not EXTREMELY urgent) I won't request for my passport because here I am really worried- i called NVC and they told me my 8 week could start from when they received the passport that they don't know. Montreal on the other hand has refused to reply my emails regarding this question. never been so frustrated in my life.

Sorry I do not have an answer, but just wondering how you requested your passport?! I have to travel on the third week of August, and my passport has been sitting at the consulate for the past 3 weeks too... At this point, I am really doubting my visa will come out on time... Should I e-mail them to send back my passport to cross the border and send it back to the consulate after I arrive?

the end is near! They always started reviewing my documents 6 weeks from when they received it.

I think it depends on the reviewer. As you see some people get their docs reviewed sooner, but it was never a day before week 6 when they work on my application, and never on a weekend.

I've been reading some of your posts and I want to add that the end is near. I had my interview on Feb 29th. They requested additional documents which I sent the next day. However, the consulate did not receive it till March 11th. After five weeks of waiting from my interview date, My CEAC updated to ready on April 8th; Issued on April 12th. I had my passport in hand on April 11th and flew the very next day!

Hi Leej91, yes I went to Montreal for the interview on June 7th, and the date on my status was updated June 13th (when they received my document) and was also updated on June 26th (a Sunday...weird). Lets hope we hear from them soon....this will be my 5th week in AP
