  1. This is where I have a problem. Case workers picking and choosing what applications to work on? We all paid the same amount to have this process done. Therefore it should be 1st come, 1st serve, not "well I like the looks of this one better so I will do theirs first" or more than likely, "this one looks like an easier one to deal with".

Petition don't work like that... it is case by case bases. Like I said before, every case is unique.

Cases are divided among case workers and they choose to work on whatever petition they want.

I was preparing myself for a 5 months wait and it happens so quick.

Just be steadfast, approval rain would shower you soon.

  2. It appears ours hasn't even been touched yet. So frustrating & aggravating.

Hello there! Did you guys create an account and are logged in? You need to have an account for you to see when your case was last touched, as opposed to just entering the receipt # on the status tracker page.

    Sign up here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/disclaimer.do

Add your receipt number, and viola! You should see "last updated" date in the table below. You can also setup email and mobile alerts, so you will be alerted of any changes. I am the beneficiary, so I setup my email address and my fiance's mobile number. We got both alerts at the same time for our NOA-2.

Chin up, girls. Remember I waited almost 2 months. This week is going to be awesome, MORE APPROVALS TO COME!!

  3. The entire process should take 5-6 months. If they are saying up to 5 months just to get a NOA2, then something is really amiss here!

I just called the USCIS and was told case was received September 25, 2015 and the processing time is 5 months for California service center. I asked her why they process some of them in less than a month and she said it's case by case basis and also depends on who is processing your case (Some work faster than others).

    09-25-2015 I-129F NOA1 received in CSC

    09-30-2015 Got NOA1 e-notification

    10-05-2015 Got NOA1 hard copy

  4. We are at 33 days. I am kinda baffled as to why some only took 21 days or less to receive their NOA2's. Perhaps the CSC is slowing down, at the wrong time on top of that!

I feel your pain - I had to stop looking at the timelines I'm following because they were getting approvals before me, even though I sent my I-129F application before them! I'm happy for all the approved peoples on here, don't get me wrong - it's fantastic news, and I love being able to share experiences on here, but it can get frustrating when you're days after the estimated date! FINGERS CROSSED OVER NIGHT DaNnE.

  5. Hey guys!

So to follow up on my post yesterday. My fiancé got home and it turned out to be an RFE. USCIS weren't satisfied with his birth certificate that we sent in as proof of his American citizenship. Apparently they don't accept hospital issued birth certificates (didn't know that was going to be an issue). We called and they were less than helpful. So my fiancé is going to meet with the local immigration office and see what they suggest. Hopefully we can resolve this soon and get our NOA2 very quickly! Strangely NOTHING has been updated online about our case... so that concerns me going forward because I rely on those to keep us updated.

I'd love some support right now. I'm pretty sad about this temporary road block!

They won't accept hospital issued BC's. They have to be the official one issued by the state (or county) of birth. I had to do this when obtaining my US passport several years ago. Having lived in Florida, I had to contact the records department in Illinois. It didn't take long to receive the copies, but it isn't cheap. Most places have an option for expedited mailing when ordering them as well. It's worth the extra cost is you are wanting to get the correct document back to USCIS asap.

  6. I am curious why the tax transcript is required for the K1 visa. Looking at the US Embassy site for Kenya, it only states the I-134 affidavit of support, It appears to me that the IRS tax transcript is only required with the I-864 affidavit of support (which is for a different kind of visa I believe).

Here is what i copied and pasted from the site itself:
