  1. As I said, I am no CR/IR expert haha, I went through the K1. I think the card will be sent to you as you filed the form.

And I think it could be the stamp. Were you CR1 or IR1? CR gives you a 2 year green card and IR gives you a 10 year. I would suggest to look and ask on visa journey about people who came here on a CR1 Visa

Yes but going through the process you can end up being an immigration expert lol .

and yes i am on CR 1 and the stamp on my pasport is for two years from POE .

  2. I wish I could help you, but did you not get a I-551 stamp in your passport? I thought they were stamping the CR-IR passports at the POE. Mind you I am not an expert and you should look for someone who went through the same process as you.

(OFF GOOGLE; The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) calls the Form I-551, the United States Permanent Resident Card. It is also known as the Green Card or Alien Registration Card.)

And I am going stir crazy here. Moved on June 22nd, my daily routine was fine at 1st, but now I am done with it. Thank God I am going to Florida next month.

OH yes they did stamp smthin on my passport on arrival ! i dont know what that means it says smthin valid for two years ! what does that mean ? would that stamp serve as a temporary green card ? but i would still need a social security number isnt it ?

  3. I know how u feel , I'm a personal that actually enjoys working and getting out of the house ,

To keep myself busy I just clean and organize my husbands house (he can be a pack rat, he keeps EVERYTHING LOL) plus I also cook him lunch, dinner and other times I take a walk around the neighbourhood to see what is around me, catch up on my fav shows and on weekends when husband is not busy we go to the movies and go out with friends

Good for You ! lol . considering the fact that i am not a Girl ! it is very very difficult for a guy like me who never sat at home all his life and lived independent throughout ! Had my own nice car and house back home. and now suddenly m in a different country with nowhere to go, nowhere to look. my american dream seems to be distant reality !

  4. Hellloo VJ !!

Had Interview today at US embassy delhi. I have a mixed feeling writing here about it. Me and my wife both attended the interview, we entered the embassy at 8 AM and were out by 9 AM. Process at the embassy was fast and very smooth for CR 1 category.

So coming to the Point : interview went well. American lady officer was very nice. Asked very few standard questions like how did u guys meet, how many people attended the wedding, looked at a few pics from our wedding and honeymoon and kept typing smthing on the computer. And then she said Okay Everything Looks Good. And then she handed over the white paper asking for additional silly document that is i need to give additional proof of birth, my birth certificate that i submitted did not have my name on it, coz i was not named yet then. Like now i need to give them an affidavit from my dad or guardian or school leaving certificate clearly mentioning my name and DOB, which i am submitting at VAC New delhi tomorrow. Officer didnt keep my passport. I have to submit my passport and document. Interview went for no more than 5 mins.

So Yes enough said. I dont know the result. I cant say i have been approved or denied m in a limbo. Please god Help ??

  6. Helloo...

I don't understand why some people here are so eager to find out if their case file has reached the consulate from NVC and go to extreme lengths to find out if its shipped out and keep a track on DHL shipments. Well i dont think anyone needs to be nervous about that its the job of the NVC and there's nothing you can really do in this. Once you are given an interview date its their headache to get hold of your file. Almost every file reaches the Embassy or consulate once you are scheduled. So folks just relax. Best of luck to everyone who have intrrviews coming up.

    Cheers ?

  7. Hi everyone,

I'm having my interview on January 19th and I'm already preparing all the documents that I will take with me. I was thinking that I could print out my Facebook conversations with my husband's family members (his dad, mom, sister, brother, sister-in-law) just to show the CO that i'm in good relations with basically everyone :)

    You guys think that'll help?

Lol. lonela don't worry. Just relax. I have a strong feeling you are gonna get through the interview very easy as you have a lot of evidence demonstrating strong husband wife relationship. So basically that should be it. You should be confident enough to look into the eyes of CO and make a point. Just chill. You have done nothing illegal. Be Calm. Take Care

  8. New record !

The longest wait period for an interview 181 days !! Hamdulillah :)

Middle East and Pakistan my friend. There's lot of fishy islamic activity down there. So embassy is not taking any chances with lots and lots of background checks especially considering the recent tragic events, so its good in a way that they are cautious of not letting any radicalised idiot in.
  9. K&K M, if you read Sekhvaruli's post about her husband's interview (which happened 2 days ago i belive), you'll see that they heard when another person was denied because he didn't knew anything about his wife's previous marriage.

I know it might be hard to talk about it, but is that a reason worth jeopardizing your wife's/husband's interview?

Thats tragic. I think i missed Sekharavuli post. Where can i read it?
