How much is the visa fee at the interview?

  2. For my K1 Visa I just completed my DS 160 and created my profile at the ustraveldoc, now I'm ready to pay the fee at Banco Popular. When I go there what forms or papers should I bring with me???? Any info helps.

Could you tell me what exactly you need to bring to banco popular to pay the fee? Thanks

  3. Yes, everything is good! How are you?

I got back on Saturday, Visa was approved. We just got an email this morning that the passport and visa are ready to be picked up. He's on his way there now to pick it up. I was hoping he could fly back with me, Hopefully he'll be home with me next week! :dancing:

The interview was so easy. They only asked us a few questions.

    Questions they asked him:

Where do I work? How long have I been working there?

Do I have children? How many? What are their names and ages?

Has he ever travel outside DR before?

    Questions they asked me:

    How did we meet?

    How did he propose?

    What are his parents names?

How many brothers and sisters does he have? and their names?

It was just an easy going conversation. The consul was very nice, He then asked to see pictures of us. And then he said :"approved"

We were prepared with all the required documents, but they didn't ask to see mine.

    When is your interview?

My advis, get there early. Our interview was at 7:00 am, my fiance told me the night before we were going to get there at 4am, and I was like "No that's too early" LOL Thank God I listened to him, when we got there there was already a line. They start letting people in at 6:30 am. We were done and outta there by 8:15 am. I couldn't believe the line when we got outside. There must have been at least 500 people on line. It was crazy. But overall, it was an easy experience. We had all our documents in order and it was a simple, easy interview.

What exactly do we bring to banco popular to pay the fee?

  4. To be honest, you really shouldn't have any issues.

I was in a similar situation as you before with my last ex, who was my previous K-1. After 3 months of marriage she walked out on me. I met my wife and started dating her about a month before my divorce to my ex was started. The divorce ended up taking months, so during that time I went to Philippines for a couple weeks to meet my now wife. A few months before my divorce was final, we talked and agreed to marry each other. The day after the divorce was final I mailed in my I-129F petition. I had to include a letter requesting a waiver of the filing requirements, which was accepted and I was approved about 3 weeks after I initially mailed the petition.

There was no issue at all.

My wife had her visa interview a few weeks later. I was with her. The first consul, the Filipina CO, asked for all our documents and then asked both of us many questions regarding our current relationship. She also asked to see pictures of us together (we had 2 photo books). The second consul, the American CO (there were actually 2 but I think one was in training). They asked her very simple and light hearted questions, it was almost like a chit chat.

In the end, there was no issue at all at the embassy stage either.

Bottom line, as long as you can prove a bonafide relationship with your current fiancée, you should be just fine.

Here is a link to a sample letter request for multiple filer waiver, which you will likely need to include in your petition: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/509146-waiver-for-multiple-fiance-filings/?p=7177435

Thanks for all the info. I will be filing my second k-2 in a month or two. This month will be 2 years since the NO1 of the first one. I will be sending a waiver letter In case is needed. I will also include as much as ongoing relationship on the petition up front in case. My country is a high fraud on visas unfortunately. I will be well prepare for the interview. thanks for all the info provided.

  5. I am no expert, but there is another post on the forum (tried to find it to link unsuccessfully) where this was a question and it was determined that it may look suspicious at the Embassy but there should be no issue at USCIS as long as you have lots of evidence to prove the new relationship is bonafide.

I also know from reading the forums pretty heavily that there are quite a few regular posters (hopefully one can post here as well) who have filed more than once and they were able to do so without issue. If I remember correctly there is a waiver required if it is 2 or more visa requests. (but I could be slightly off on the number since this is all from memory, since again I couldn't find the original post to link)

Hope this helps! I will keep searching for the original post I am referencing!

Edit: This isn't the one I was looking for, but it does show that you can file more than once and gives an example waiver request letter

Edit #2: Here is the original forum post I was referencing!

Thanks kat&jon for the info. I/m going thru the same situation and I will be filing in the next 2 months or so. This will be my second k-1 in 2 years. and even though my country is a high fraud on visas I'm hoping for the best. I will be filing a waiver in case this is necessary and we will try to be as well prepare for the interview. I will be sending proof of an ongoing relationship in the I-129F form even though this is not being ask for but it will give them a scoop that this is a true and real relationship. I will appreciate all your info thanks a lot

  6. Our relationship is real, but my husband was denied, so the advice about it being real and having nothing to worry about, well that wasn't the case with us. What was the case was a situation we didn't think would be a big deal, turned out to be what the CO focused on.

The fault was mine, I see now, because I was thinking like me, not like the suspicious CO. Even if your relationship is real, make sure you keep reading all these posts and try to foresee what may be a red flag to the CO. What may seem innocent to you, may not be to them.

I wish you the best luck!

Sorry to hear they denied you! that's terrible. Im on my second k-1 and I'm afraid they will deny mines as well. Why they denied you guys? was it an specific question?

  7. Yes you can file for a new K-1 without any issue.

If it has been less than 2 years since you filed your first I-129F petition, then you need to include a letter requesting a waiver of the IMBRA filing limitations. You can find an example of the waiver request letter here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/509146-waiver-for-multiple-fiance-filings/?p=7177435

Oct 2013 was the filling date or NO1 of that first petititon. Even though I'm not sending the package until the begging of next year I will still send the Waiver letter just in case. I have heard is 2 years of the Approval or NO2 instead of the NO1. but to be on the safe side I will still mail that Waiver Letter. Thanks for the advice Zedayn

Thanks a lot. will do that and hopefully I will get my NO2 with no issues.

  9. It clearly states on the I-129f instructions this:

    2. What filing limitations does IMBRA place on K-1 nonimmigrant petitioners?

You must apply for a filing limitations waiver if any of the following apply to you:

    1. You have previously filed K-1 petitions for two or more beneficiaries; or

    2. You previously had a K-1 petition approved, and less than two years have passed since the filing date of that petition.
is two years after the filing date meaning the NO1 according to this.
    I hope his help
