  1. From what I understand it is not absolutely necessary to bring a copy of your initial I-129 Packet to the interview with you (unless it is requested by that particular Consulate in the instructions on what you need to bring). I believe it is more of a suggestion in the guidlines here... as having copies of just about everything in this process is a pretty good idea.

The Consulate should have your original Packet there already when the interview takes place.

  2. Hey ya'll,

My baby just got packet three on Saturday!!! Finally. My question is....he wants to wait to send back the sheet of paper that states he has everything until he receives the police report. It should be arriving in the next ten days. He has everything except for that. Now, does the return of this paper hold up packet 4 being sent to him??? I just want to get on with it since we know that the police report is on its way. He is afraid to send in the paper in case anything happens to the report. Should we wait or not???

    Thanks for any imput

    J

They will not set an interview date until they get packet 3 back... so yeah it will hold up your interview date in that sense.

I would send it in personally, he'll probably have the Police Certificate before they process the papers anyway. But, waiting an extra week or so on the side of caution isn't a bad idea either.

It's up to you two

  3. Well fortunetly the bank (Banco do Brasil) was still open in her city. So, at least I was able to get her some money to finish up what she needs to do before the interview. I just hope, that this strike clears before the week she leaves, so I can send her the rest of the money she is going to need for when she arrives in Rio.

  4. Whether you met through a Marriage Broker or not, should not hurt your case at all in the first place. They aren't saying if you met through a Marriage Broker you will be denied, they just want the information of the Marriage Broker.... so, if you are not sure, why not just give them the information, give them a little description saying you do not believe nor consider where you met to be a Marriage Broker, but you are providing the information they request just in case they find it is.

This is what I did... I did not believe where I met my fiance was a Marriage Broker, or considered one... actually I know it's not. But, I wrote a little description of where and how we met, gave them the address's, phone numbers etc. for the website, and let them decide. This way I would not receive another RFE, and it did not hold up my petition at all. I was approved less than 30 days after I sent it back.

  5. I know she doesn't live in a big city but ask her if there is any Exchange place in her city... There are some here in SP that has Western Union in it and she can get the money there. I always go there instead of going to the bank.

And yeah... it is true :P

"Gulp" I know there is no place like that in her city, because when I was there visiting we had to go to the bank to exchange my money.

  6. Hey Nessa, when did they tell you to return to pick up your passport/visa?

I think they tell everyone to go pick up the passport 2 days later. My interview was on Tuesday and I went back there on Thursday. You can try and ask to get it the next day. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Thanks Mew, just making sure they are still on the 2 day thing. I know not long ago, they used to give the Visa later that same day... so just checking :D

Do they tell you after the interview if you were Approved? Or is there a paper or something that says approved on it for you to bring when you go pick it up? Curiousity :D

  7. USCIS accepts translations "certified" by someone who states to be fluent in both languages.

    Including me? The petitioner?

People, taking my BC for a translator down here will be such a pain in the ####### because I will have to pay for it and make the person sign that document that is on USCIS website.

On the website it doesn't say if you need to be registred, or have some kind of document, to prove you are a translator.

It just says "I blah blah blah am fluent in english blah blah blah sign here".

So, I think that is what they want.

Alex, did you ask this to an USCIS person?

If so, what did they say?

If not, why are you asking people here first?

Just for clarification, the Translator doesn't need to sign any paper on the USCIS website... most of them have a rubber stamp, and just stamp at the top or bottom of the translated document.

Also, take this for what its worth, but when I called the USCIS about Translating documents back when I was preparing my I-129F Package, they told me (over the phone) that every document translated needed to be stamped, and or signed by the person translating it.

  8. I knew a girl in College who's name was Secret. Don't remember her last name now. I was drunk the first time I met her, and when I asked her what her name was, she said "It's Secret" But, of course my drunk ####### thought she said It's a Secret... so that went on for a few hours until I made her pull out her License... sure enough, her name was Secret

  9. Mine was pretty basic and I didn't even got looked at down there like everyone else claims they have to. :P

It's a damn pity I won't be able to attend the Medical with my fiance... I was looking forward to them fondling my Breasts....

Or is that only for the Beneficiary?

yeah, too bad the dr could not just take my word that nessa's are fine and save the money :P

Thats what I told my fiance to  I told her to tell the Dr. that I would do an exam every night and send him the results hoping maybe he wouldn't do it to her there
