Hanging in there - if you are bitter about your own experience I understand, but ranting that all foreigners are just "shopping for Americans" for a better life isn't only unfair, it's plain old stupid - sorry to be frank! It's also pretty naive to think that Americans have more rights than people anywhere in Europe. I'm getting really tired of all the whining of the poor Americans who were taken for a ride! Take time to get to know your spouses, do not ignore red flags, and if you want to avoid the risk altogether, go find another perfect American!

We may only get your side of the story, but from what you describe he sounds like a jerk.
He has no right to treat you like this, it's very low for a native speaker to make fun of your accent - how is his Chinese coming along? And if you miss home you need a therapist? Come on... do you really want to spend the rest of your life with such a person?
I would make sure to have your immigration status sorted out and then leave - he's not worth it!

Guess I'm greedy, but I would expect a little more financial help from the ex to start over again in my home country, especially since you haven't worked and didn't get a chance to put some money aside for yourself. Depending on your financial situation, of course. I would expect him to help with the moving cost and maybe some support for the first couple of months when you'll have to pay rent and buy furniture and will be looking for a job again in Britain.
We talked about the "what if" before I moved here and my husband said he would support me for a while if I at some point chose to go back to Germany and start over, I didn't even have to ask for it. Since I'm working and able to safe some money for myself I wouldn't even ask for it but if I wasn't I guess I'd expect some help.

I wish the OP would spent a little less time praying and preaching and a little more time thinking about his relationships with wife/mother and how to handle it with dignity in the future!
How about the comments from DEDIXON about wanting to know more about what the OP's mother did to the wife? That isn't off topic? Not only that, but it's also non of anybody's business, so why ask???
