  1. You pick one, and then provide the evidence---note there is no mention of tax returns (unless it is the basis from self-employment), because this is not a mortgage

Evidence should consist of copies of any of the documents listed below that apply to your situation.

Submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:

    A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:

    1. Date account opened;

    2. Total amount deposited for the past year; and

    3. Present balance.

    B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:

    1. Date and nature of employment;

    2. Salary paid; and

    3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

    C. If self-employed:

    1. Copy of last income tax return filed; or

    2. Report of commercial rating concern.

Just a note...this may vary from embassy to embassy. My packet 3 instructions provide a list of documents we are required to submit as evidence for the i-134 and my list is different than this one from Jaime. Mine does indicate tax returns are required. So if you got a packet 3, double check and see if it lists the specifics for your embassy or check your embassy's website to be safe.

  2. And the important 3 words?

    It is Scheduled

You now are on a mission-- 50 days to get a job. To play it safe 30 days.

    :thumbs::star::thumbs:

You're right. IT IS SCHEDULED. I did put down the paper bag long enough last night to get a bottle of wine and celebrate. :D

I WISH you were right about the 30/50 days. But our embassy requires all documents (including the support docs) to be mailed in and received at the embassy 15 days prior to the interview. They don't say whether it's 15 calendar days or business days, but to be safe I should assume business days. Which means they have to arrive no later than March 15th, and will have to be mailed express by March 10th. If I can send a scanned copy of everything (of course they don't specify), that gives me until March 9th. But if they need to be originals, I'd have to mail (somewhat express) by March 1st.

    So....looks like I need a job...tomorrow. LOL. Paper bag please!! :rofl::cry:

YAYY congrats! wishing you the best on job search also

    Thank you thank you!

    VISA APPROVED !! :dancing: :dancing: (L) (L)

    VISA APPROVED!!!

Questions asked: fiancé's full name, how did we meet, Favorite hobby, asked for some pictures, how many times did we see each orher, how long was his visit. That's it!

Congrats Tyler and Abisflores! Great news! :dancing::dancing:

  3. Is this a f****ing joke? My fiance and I got payment confirmation for visa today from the embassy. It say to go schedule our appointment online now. I sign online and there are ZERO options for scheduling an interview. Not a single option is available. I call the kenyan embassy and the person who picks up says yes your correct we have zero appointment options, don't worry though the payment is good for a year. All you have to do is keep checking every day until the counselor decides to open an appointment we have no time frame for when this may be?

You have got to be ###### kidding me. Before making the payment it showed next available date april 19th. We make the payment get confirmation go to schedule and there are Zero dates available

How can the embassy have ZERO appointments available?

I'm in the same boat and understand your frustration. For a week and a half, I've been refreshing the web page for our embassy about 500 times a day, and my fiance does it during the hours I'm sleeping. All I ever get is the following, and it won't even let me pay the fee at this time:post-218283-0-01758900-1455481912_thumb.png

I don't know if your embassy works the same as mine, but maybe this information will help you. I've asked several people who've gone through my embassy about this (through private message--my sub-forum is dead) and they said eventually one day it will just open up a whole month of appointments to choose from, and possibly a few other random dates that have opened due to cancellations or changes.

Not knowing whether these openings will be 4 weeks in advance or 4 months in advance is making things extremely difficult for us on a variety of levels, including how I handle my current job search, trying to plan my visit to his parents, etc. and it's making me a little crazy (crazier?) but I'm trying to roll with it the best I can.

I don't know if any of this helps, but you're not alone. :clock::cry:

Questions were : petitioners name, birthday, age, how fiance got here in us, when I got here in us, have me wet I person and when, and luckily my fiancé brought an album of pictures including our daily chat logs. He said that the CO looked at the pictures one by one

I had an interview on 10th of February! Visa is approved, issued! I think on Monday will have it in hands!

The interview went very well and CO was really friendly and i am sure when he took the petition into his hands he had already approved it in his mind even before he called us for the interview. We went together with my fiance. He asked only few questions- where did you meet, where does he work, how many times did he visit me, also he spoke to my fiance about his work. He did not look at the evidence of our relations. I've been talking to the CO in English and he was very glad of that.

  4. Hi everyone,

Couple questions about the embassy in Ankara (K-1 visa).

    1. Online system: I've been stuck in the hell of the online system for a week now....refreshing a thousand times a day just to keep seeing the words "no appointments available." I had read this was an issue, so I thought I was prepared for the frustration, but clearly I was wrong. :bonk: About how long did everyone go through this before appointments opened up? Also, once it opens up, what does it look like? Are there multiple dates to choose from, or one date and you have to take it?

    2. Interviews: I can't find info anywhere on the site about whether or not US citizen fiances are allowed to attend the interview. Has anyone attempted to attend their fiance's interview and can answer this definitively?

    Thanks!

  5. Hoooraaaaayyyyyy!!! We got approved at the interview!!!! Sooo happy , happy happy!!!!

YAY!!! Congratulations!! So happy for you! :dancing:

Congrats! It makes me very happy to hear about you all getting approved. Feels like family now

I just checked the site this morning and our visa now states, "Issued"!!!! I am so excited! All she has to do is pick it up. My stress is finally gone after 3 months. What an adventure....and we are not even half way through it. :D

Congrats...I can only imagine how amazing that must feel! :dancing:

My fiancé wakes up in less than 3hrs and head to Us embassy in the Philippines. I'm nervous for him.

Good luck! We'll all be here waiting to hear your news!

  6. :diablo::diablo: This morning at 03:38 I nearly, probably did, experience a heart attack............................................

And so this is what I am going to have to live with for the rest of my life, a practical joker that is better at it than me.

I hope now to only survive long enough to see this dang visa......... <_<

OMG Jaime...that's terrible.... :crying: Can't wait to meet her at the reunion...

  7. Thank you to this website! Without it, we wouldn't be where we are. Instead of 3,000+ miles away we are now 3 feet away!

Want to encourage you all to keep going! You WILL reach an end to your visa journey and you WILL get to be with your love!

    attachicon.gifimage.jpeg

I love this. Thanks for the encouragement, and congratulations to you two!!

Oh my that is sooooo awesome!!!! we should all send pictures when we are finally together in real life. CANNOT WAIT.

This! ^^ Yes please, everyone post pics!

Size matters to the U.S. Government.

And apparently there are strings attached too...

    :rofl::rofl:

  8. Okay. So I just heard from my fiance. She said they took her passport and said she will receive it in 2 weeks. They didn't say if she was approved or not. Is that bad? Would they take your passport if they deny you? From what her and I have read this is a good thing.

Interview this morning and approved, was in and out of the embassy in an hour :D

OMG! FIANCEE FORGOT MEDICAL RECORDS IN HOTEL!!

Fortunately hotel was nearby and we were able to go and get them.

Apparently, Interview was a non-event. CO did not ask many questions, did not want additional evidence. Did ask questions about the golf course at Don Mueang airport.

He said, now wait 10-14 days, so I guess we are approved.

P.S. Fiancee blames me for forgetting medical records.

Hooray! Congrats trudi, Shawn&Jaque, and EricAndOrn! So happy for you guys! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

  9. My fiance's interview is tomorrow. We are both very anxious. We will be chatting tonight to make sure all her paperwork is in order. When I wake up in the morning, I will have a message from her that will say approved or not (she is 3 hours ahead). How am I supposed to sleep tonight? Lol.

    48 hours until the interview.

View of the US embassy from my hotel room. So close now. Hope all goes well.

Good luck EricAndOrn and Shawn&Jaque! Everything will be fine, and we will all be waiting anxiously to hear your good news!:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Man I'm sweating bullets, maybe I'll try some of this hot sauce I bought called Satan's Blood to cool off.... also got me some "Rectal Rocket Fuel" hot sauce..... C'mon approval where are you?

You really want to lite yourself up? Dave's Insanity Sauce.

I'm a hot food freak. I have beat all the "hot chicken wing" challenges from restaurants. I use ghost peppers in my chilli.

And Dave's is wacko crazy. Kills the flavor it is so hot.

ERTexas and Jaime, if you haven't discovered the best hot sauce shop I've ever seen, and since you both live in Texas, check out Tears of Joy if you're ever in Austin (or online http://www.tearsofjoysauces.com/). I loooooooove hot sauce so whenever I go on a business trip or vacation, I always seek out a local hot sauce to bring back home with me. When I discovered Tears of Joy shop, I went nuts...I bought about 10 bottles and had to check my bag on the way home (somehow none broke). They have sauces from all over, plus they make a few of their own which are also very good (I recommend their August in Austin sauce for an excellent, hot everyday sauce).

  10. Hi guys. I would like thank everyone for supporting each one of us through this process. Just got out of the embassy. APPROVED.

  11. Our Ethiopian 'subforum' is a figment of someone's imagination. Zero, nada. More along the lines of Greek Mythology.

What we as K1 visa petitioners and beneficiaries have been left behind with are tales of the likes of Medusa within the walls of Embassy that spend their days guarding the K-1 visa approval stamp from innocent K-1 applicants . With a legacy of a turning the applicant into terrified stone. It is said that only the bravest and most cunning of K1 applicants have come out of the Embassy cave with an approved K1 visa in hand.

 Whether this is truth, fiction, or a mixture we will not know until we venture inside.........

So EE&MY, as this forum is only for initial bonding, and not intended to be a place for long term support, I myself welcome you to the club of the orphans without a subforum.

Thank you Jaime, I happily and gratefully accept membership into the orphan club.

As soon as I read your message, I had to find this picture. I have better ones somewhere (this is a phone pic) so I'll keep looking, but in the meantime...

Here lies Medusa, herself finally turned to stone, left to rest eternally--turned on her head--beneath a column in an underground cistern in Istanbul....oddly enough, this was the place I escaped to when I needed to find peace and quiet while I was there. Perhaps she can be our new mascot...

  12. Welcome back. I'm sure you enjoyed your trip.

Yes this is one of the busiest threads on K1.

Things sure move fast once NOA2 approval. Hang on.

Get those IRS transcripts from here for past 3 years.

Send your gal what you have regarding pay stubs and keep looking for a job is all you can really do.

    https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

    Tyler

Thanks for the tip, Tyler...I ordered the transcripts so they should be on their way. Now just really hoping I can get a job ASAP. Oh and just FYI, I'm the "gal" (and US citizen/petitioner) in this partnership. :)

A letter from your employer will do just fine along with the other requirements from your Embassy.

Thanks Greenbaum. I wish we had a Turkish version of you....our subforum is completely dead.

So I have been in bliss the past week knowing that my fiance will have her interview on the 2nd and on the 11th she will arrive....then today happens. On my way to work this morning, I texted my fiance to see how she was doing since I hadn't heard from her since Saturday. She tells me she wants to tell me something. My first thought was, "this is bad" (she never says that). She said she has something important she has to attend in March and cannot come until after that and we will have to change our plans.

Saying I am sad right now is an understatement. :crying: I was 2 weeks away from seeing her, now it is 2 months. And no one I know understands what i am going through, but I know you guys know how it feels. It is nice having a place to come to that has other people in the same process at the same time. I pray you all do not have setbacks and can be with the one you love soon.

I know how you feel. We were just talking about this last week and I was hoping he could fly here a week after we (hopefully) get approved. He gently reminded me that he will need to give at least 1-2 weeks notice at his job, and then fly out to see his family, so we'd be looking at waiting about a month. I was super upset at first too, but I'm trying to keep reminding myself that once he gets here, he won't get to see his family or friends for quite a while. Just try to remember that once she does arrive, she'll be alllll yours for the foreseeable future, and you won't have to deal with this agonizing time apart ever again. :D

Visa status on CEAC is now showing "issued" BAAAAAAAAH! Excitedly waiting for the email that says "come git it"

Then it's all smooth sailing from there. We got him his plane ticket to arrive Friday, Feb 5. Took a risk in purchasing it before having the visa in hand BUT the prices were right!

    PtL!

That is SOOOOO exciting! So happy for you guys! We are all living vicariously through you right now. :joy:

My fiance flies into Seattle tomorrow afternoon to visit me for 10 days!!:luv: It has been almost 5 months since we have seen each other.

Tomorrow is also the day the California Service Center receives my RFE reply. So we may receive our NOA2 when he is here (L) .

Congrats and enjoy your visit! I got to tell my fiance about our NOA2 in person last week and it was sooooo nice to be able to celebrate together.

Congrats to the rest of you progressing along too! Can't wait for everyone in this group to have their approvals!

  13. Hi everyone....I'm back from my visit with my love...actually I've been back for a few days but have spent the time catching up on the last 40 pages of our group.

So glad to see lots of progress...NOA2s, interviews scheduled, a visa approved, RFEs being completed...and thinking of those of you still waiting. I hope you hear soon!

I got lucky on my first call to NVC today. 12 minutes total, the nice lady on the phone told me they had just received our case so it would take some time for more information (she said 28 days from today), then I asked if we had a case number yet and she seemed surprised/thrown off script...then happily gave me our number! I immediately checked on the CEAC website where it said "At NVC." I checked again an hour later (because I'm obsessive I guess) and it now says "In transit!"

Now I'm freaking out a little about the speed, because I am still looking for a new job... Does anyone know if you need to have had current income for a certain length of time or will one pay stub/letter from employer be enough? My taxes for the past 3 years are plenty high enough but not my current income (which is $0 right now). So if I get hired somewhere in the next few weeks, will that be ok?

  14. Funny you should say that! My fiance and I were just talking last night about how funny it would be if we got word (NOA2 or RFE at least...) on Jan. 13. See, 13 is our lucky number. Our anniversary is on the 13, everything good happens to us in 13s. So hopefully your crystal ball is right!!!

Not necessarily a list I like being a part of ? Hopefully next week is our week, for all of us on the list!

Um....I hope YOU bought a Powerball ticket because the Powerball number was 13 tonight! (Even if you didn't get any of the other numbers, you'd get like 4 bucks...) :P

  15. Haha!

Seems like all the good news for me happens on Friday. Maybe I will try my Saturday luck and play the Powerball. Win that and there will be a Huge party!!

Yep, MNL and ID numbers in hand

I never do this but I actually bought a Powerball ticket today....I used the 10 digits from our WAC case number for the first 5 picks, and our NOA2 date as the Powerball number... :hehe::hehe: AND I have managed to not tell him about our NOA2 yet somehow! Wouldn't it be great if I told him that in person AND that we won $800 million??:rofl::rofl:

I'm going crazy right now, because he's at the airport about to leave to meet me in Mexico tomorrow....I'm freaking out because he has 26 hours of travel through three airports/flights/customs/passport controls and he's never traveled internationally before. Aaaaghh!! :help::help::help:

  16. Great idea Jaime!!!

Is there any way (if it's not much to ask!!) you can create the same but as a Private Group? That way you can only post and see posts if you are in the group and are accepted to get in by a moderator?

Sorry I am a stickler for privacy on my Facebook ?

I was going to suggest making it a private group too... OMG Jaime those pictures....:rofl:

ohhhh my GOD we got approved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! am on cloud nine :goofy::joy::joy::joy:

    THANK U GUYS !!!!

    Congratulations!! :joy::joy:

Daisy and I are overjoyed we received our approval last night by text message. Good luck to those still waiting. Don't worry, it will come sooner than you think.

    Congratulations! :joy::joy:

Joining this group a little late. Seems like a lot of applications around our time are already passed the NOA2 hurdle - fingers crossed for speedy approval for everyone (like myself) still patiently waiting!

I appreciate all the information and encouragement I've gained from reading VJ forums. It's been great!

Welcome! This really is the best group!:yes::yes:

P.S. I just tried to post this and got this hilarious error message: "You have posted a message with more emoticons than this community allows. Please reduce the number of emoticons you've added to the message"

  17. That would be cool if I got the NOA2 today.

But for some reason I feel I'll probably get a letter like this instead:

    Dear petitioner,
Due to unforseen circumstances, we are unable to process your petition for the K-1 Fiance'e
    Visa.
As it turns out, yesterday at approximately 9 A.M. PST your petition was "touched" by one of our
staff members. Before the staff member was able to scan and begin working on your petition,
a group of armed men stormed into our facility..................
....................P.P.P.S. I realized the P.P.S. above would mean you would get in contact with us again.
We fear for the safety of all our staff members, so please do not contact us again, we will
make do with the use of the standard government paper.
    Thank you.

    :rofl::rofl::wow::wow::lol::lol:

I came to realization that I have made way too many calls to NVC. Why... you ask? 1) Memorizing their script as good or better than the call taker, 2) Being overly creative when trying to trick them in to actually looking at my file, and finally (this might be disturbing to some of you) 3) Memorizing the outgoing on-hold message: "All of our customer service representatives are (I swear it sounds like he is saying "is") still helping other customers. Please continue to hold, we appreciate your patience".

This evening marked the last time I will hear that message. A lady named Evette answered. This was unlike the many other calls. Instead of the usual run around and giving me the 30 to 45 day scripted line asking for my case number (that's why I am calling) she immediately asked "May I have your receipt number? May I have your name? May I have the beneficiary's name and date of birth? She then said "we received your case today and I am entering in to the system right now". Then she asked me if I was prepared to write down some information... CASE NUMBER :joy: She went on to say that they do not hold on to the cases very long at all, not more than a day or two at the most.

I'm gonna miss that message  okay okay... another lie from me.

No more super long posts from me :bonk:

Congrats!:thumbs::yes::yes::dance::dance: Can I ask for Evette personally when I start calling?? I like her already...

    Hello, it's me... my case number starts with W A C .

I was wondering if after all these weeks my pettion reached N V C.

    To go over everything

They say that it is time for you to tell me my invoice id

But I havent heard much from anybody

    Hello, can you hear me

I'm in the U.S waiting for you to tell me

When we will get our case number to see

I've forgotten I have to tell you my pettion number so you could see

There's such a difference between USCIS AND NVC.

    Hello from pettioner siiiidee

I must have called a thousand times

To tell you give me my new case number and invoice id

But when I call you never seem to tell me.

    Hello from the pettioner siiideee

At least I can say that I've tried!!!!!!

    :)))))))))

This is fantastic. Very well done. And good use of your waiting time. I'm gonna memorize it and sing it when the original song comes on the radio...as if my friends don't already think this process is making me crazy (crazier?) enough.:lol::yes::yes:

  18. Very nice!! Congratulations!!

:secret: That would be a cool surprise to tell him in person

    I couldn't do it

Thanks! I'm still in shock. I'm gonna try to wait and tell him in person....but we'll see how that goes when he wakes up and texts me tomorrow.

I'm just glad I don't have to pack the paper bags to meet him in Mexico.

I'll give it two weeks, but then it won't be long before the NVC starts calling me Adele..."Hello from the other side....I must have called a thousand times....."

  19. Lol thanks, but i just cant help the feeling that they lost our app as more and more people who applied after us recieve their noa2. We met in miami through mutual friends and have been doing long distance ever since. I love him so much and dont wanna be apart longer than necessary but I am sure you all feel the same. is there anyone else in this group still waiting for their noa2?

There are still a lot of people waiting with an NOA1 date the same as yours or even earlier...don't worry. Check Igor's list for the progress of filers around your date if it makes you feel better (scroll down until you find the November list): http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=

We know how much it sucks, we're all in the same boat....this is our support group....welcome!
