  1. Hello everyone,

I finally got an update from USCIS. Although is not the update I'd like to see, at least it looks like they want to close my case. They invited us for a second interview. I had a gut feeling that this would happen as I know I missed a couple of questions. Anyways, has anyone here have had a second interview?

Thank you and good luck to all of those who are still waiting :-)

  2. I finally received my green card today. It was a long journey, had they waited 4 more months to approve my i-485, I would have gotten the 10 yr green card instead of the conditional one. But it's all good :)

Good luck to all of you still waiting

Congratulations :-) I'm so happy for you. I'm still waiting on a response from USCIS. This week it will be 4 weeks since my interview.

  3. Wow... I'm so sorry to hear that... Keep checking your online status, I hope it will soon change to approved.

What's your local office? Did you check the reviews here?

No news here, I did my medical last Saturday, went back in on Monday to have my PPD skin test read, it was positive (I received a BCG shot when I was a teenager) so I needed a chect x-ray. Did that on Wednesday at a different place and now I'm waiting. The civil surgeon said he'll call me Monday to come and pick up my I-693 and then I'll overnight it to my local USCIS office so we'll see :)

My local office is Tampa and I haven't checked the reviews over here yet. I'll do it to see what people have to say it. I'm sure that once USCIS receives your new medical, they will approve right away :-). Please keep your fingers crossed for us, lol.

  4. How did it go? :)

    Hi!

I believe the interview went ok, but I'm not so sure. Here's what happened:

We were called in together and he just asked us to confirm that we were married for about 1 year and 3 months and we answered yes. After that, he asked me to provide documents that we live together. I pulled our lease, joint credit card, joint checking account and joint savings account. After that, he asked me, well you have been together for over a year and that's all you have? I got that puzzled looked and told him we also have insurance information, health insurance, but he didn't listen and decided to split us.

My wife was first and she was there for an hour or so then he asked her to stay outside and called me in. I answered the questions, but on my turn it was faster, probably 30 minutes. At the end, he asked me the yes/no questions and said my file still needs to be reviewed. Knowing that my medical was probably expired, I asked him if he needed and he promptly answered yes (why didn't he ask before????) Oh well! I gave him my medical and off I went.

I asked my wife if he asked for more evidence and she said that she gave him our 2014 joint tax information as we haven't filed our 2015 yet. But I went over with her that questions he asked and I noticed that I did miss a few :-(, but the majority I got it right. So I don't know if I'll receive an approval, some sort of RFE, or another interview. Has anyone experienced that before?

On the flip side, when I got home, I noticed my new EAD card was there, so at least I can continue to work.

What about you, do you have any news on your case?

  5. Good idea! Have it ready just in case :)

No, he didn't ask us many questions. I mean he did, but not all of them related to our marriage. He seemed interested in my husband's job and also asked me about 2 jobs I had back in Bosnia. He asked just some basic questions, when and how we met, how many times he visited me in Bosnia, if we've traveled together, he asked for the lease and some other documents that show that we live at the same address. I gave him our joint taxes for 2014 and 2015, bank statements and some other things he didn't ask for because I wanted him to put stuff in so I can have it for ROC :)

I prepared 7 folders, he only took a few documents from one lol.

Good luck at your interview and keep us posted! :)

I had my medical today, just have to go back on Monday to check the TB skin test results :)

That's great to hear. I'll keep everybody posted once I have an answer on Thursday. Hopefully it will be a good one. I'm taking pretty much every document you took with you, so it should be fine.

  6. Thank you! Congrats on your letter too :))

The interview went well but no decision as of course they asked for a new medical. I'm working on that now. The ISO that interviewed us said that he will try to close our file quickly once he receives the new medical.

    When's your interview?

Oh well, at least the interview went smooth. Mine is next Thursday (25th) I decided to take another medical just in case they ask on the interview and by what you say, they will probably ask since mine was sent in Nov 2014. Did the ISO ask you a lot of questions?

I hope they will close your file soon :D

  7. Got an interview letter today! February 10, 8:30 am :) 14 months and 4 days after sending my i-485 and almost 19 months after getting married. At least they didn't ask me to bring a new i-693 :D

Congratulations :-). How was the interview? I just got an interview letter today :). It's been 1 year and 2 months since I filled the I-485. I hope everything went well for you.

  8. Hi Everybody,

I have a quick question for: Has anybody received and not got an interview after receiving the notice of potential interview waiver for someone who is married to a Cuban green card holder?

    Here's my timeline:

    11/17/2014 - I-485 (AOS) sent

    12/11/2014 - FIngerprint fee accepted

    02/02/2015 - Fingerprint Appointment

02/24/2015 - Received Employee Authorization Form

03/21/2015 - Received Letter of Pontential Interview Waiver

Just as a background: I was an F-2 student before getting divorced and meeting my wife.

    Thank you so much
