There is the CR1 visa or a K-3 visa for spouses but it is my understanding that the K-3 visa usually takes the same time and when you get it you will still need to apply for an immigrant visa when you get to the states. My husband and I applied for both but the CR1 was approved first and the K-3 is now cancelled.
It's my personal suggestion to only apply for the CR1, which takes about a year to 18 months depending on the service center that processes the I-130 and the country you are coming from.

Our thread has been quiet. Mostly I'm not thinking about it much. I moved to Egypt to be with my husband because we didn't want to be apart for so long. I really feel for the people waiting in separate countries, that's really hard. God willing everyone will start getting approvals soon.

It is my understanding that the police certificate will be needed at the interview stage and it will need to be a current one. My husband and I are also in Egypt and we were told to wait to obtain a current police certificate when it is requested. Even if you send it in, you will likely need to obtain a new one when the time comes for them to need it.

Hi everyone, I'm Joanna. My husband and I only married in July and we sent our I-130 packet in this month. I have decided to stay in Egypt with my husband while we wait because living in different countries as newlyweds seemed unbearable! We already waited a year to be together, we didn't want to be apart for another year.
I'm worried about our I-130 because I'm concerned that we don't have enough information in it. In Egypt we are living in a house owned by his family, so we don't have any lease or purchase agreement together and we don't have any bills together. Also, because of the way banking works in Egypt, we don't have a bank account together.
Has anyone else had a similar situation happen? I'm willing to live in Egypt for as long as we need to but I don't really love life here and I miss life in America so much!

My prayers and best wishes go out to everyone who has been transferred to Potomac. It must be so frustrating to have no information. I pray you will get approved soon and NVC will go smooth for you.
