Please be careful with the Egyptian men. I know you think its crazy (I did too) when I was warned. You just don't know the pain of the verbal and emotional abuse that goes on...and the cheating ...they are the biggest con men I know and can charm everyone into thinking they are so nice and respectful to elders, etc. then one day after 5 yrs of marriage they decide to tell you they have been cheating for 2 years with many people, and they have ben doing drugs and hiding it from you. Well, I have to say, of all thats happened, the most damaging thing was the emotional abuse and lowering of self-esteem that he did. Now, im isolated and feel like he was slowing making me devalue myself. I have been around vj for all these years and never had a clue. Thank God he didn't get me pregnant as he was trying to do to use against me and make me suffer like his slave by being forever attached thru a kid. Wow. I can honestly say that I nbever thought this would happen to me and it just did. I'm only 26 and I lived with him in Egypt for almost a year. I am too young for this mess. He knows he used me for a Green card and is willing to cancel it if there is any way?? Does anyone know if that is possible? I'm not sure how he could be such an idiot to have a beautiful home paid for, cat and dog, nice loving wife, new car, job, nice family, and yet thats not enough. I am so glad I found out early who he really was and I was so blinded and did not see the real him. When he got here, he changed and he wasn't able to be the man anymore since he didn't know how things worked here...so he cheated to make himself feel good. I don't know if he will read this and I could care less. No matter how pretty you are, or smart, or a person of great morals, they will still do it. Now that I have been through it myself, its my duty to warn others who might be blinded now as I was. If he does not get down on his knee to ask you to marry him do not do it. If he convinces you to quit work, school, etc to be with him becuase he "just doenst want to wait any longer to be with you or doesnt want to wait till you finish your school....dont do it. If he is not showing you WITH ACTIONS that he isnt a selfish person, please rethink it. They have a way with words, but definately not actions.... and they never are sorry for anything and they never are wrong. Yes I am sterotyping but there is a lot of truth behind that stereotype...and I would hate for someone to suffer that much...well if it happened to you send me a message and we can be friends.

Is the affadavit of support still in effect if he has the 10 yr gc?

He is willing to forgo his greencard....is there a way to officially do that?

Well, at least he confessed it to me now, and at least he is saying he wont come back. But then again, he said alot of things that weren't true.

We sent out our package of evidence and application to remove conditional status on my husband a week ago. Today we got in the mail a letter....the letter says he has a one year extension to be in the country but this is what I cant figure out. In capital bold letters it says that we are supposed to send a copy of this letter with our evidence. We already sent our evidence a week before though..and that is normal right? So are we now supposed to make a copy of this reciept notice and mail it somewhere by itself or what ?? Thanks for any advice on this

my husband is a 2 yr greencard holder but we are in the 90 day period where we are supposed to apply for 10 yr card (i believe)...we need to do it soon becuz we have just 30 days left...what do we do this time because last time, we had a lawyer so I am not sure what we need to do now....I just got a job and we have moved and we did the AR11 2 weeks ago...thanks for any help

we are happy with any school our goal is just to get him in...so I was wondering if the test itself is hard for a American citizen...if it is, then we know its going to take extra study to get him that score...I just wonder if anyone here who is not a us citizen has passed this and how easy it was for them....thanks for replying

Have any American citizens here taken the GMAT and made a 500 at least? I was wondering how difficult it is since I know nothing about the test...if my husband NOn citizen makes this score, he can enter grad school.....please help I need to know how long and much he should study for this ...thanks so much!!!!

Since ya'll are talking about paper topics maybe you can give me ideas....I have to write my last paper before I graduate on any topic but I want it to be related to immigration. It is for a Criminal Justice class. She said it can be about any topic like abortion, gay issues, or whatever...she didn't really give us much detail other than that but what do you think is a good topic related to immigration for a Crim justice research class? I know the most popular would be mexican illegals but that doesnt sound all that interesting and Im not really sure which side I am even on with that one...any ideas??

Also I forgot to say that I have to present in front of the class which is my worst fear...but I dont want to offend anyone with whatever my topic will be

I think the best thing to do in this situation is that he needs to come to egypt and stay awhile. I know it may be hard to do but in the long run it will help a lot. It shows that he cares about your family and wants to meet them and gives them a chance to know him and they can see he is sacrificing whatever to meet them and show he will take good care of you. I think this is what he needs to do....and the longer he stays, the more they will probably accept him or learn to. Also, you dont want them hating him forever, so it is more beneficial to everyone involved to create strong relationships.....IMO it doesnt matter that he has a job, needs to do anything back home.. make him show that he is sacrificing a lot for you and they will see...actions speak louder than words~

Just wondering if anyone in MENA here has ever lived in Dallas or knows about what its like there. Is it any better than houston or about the same diversity wise, etc? We are thinking of moving there soon and taking a trip there to also see what it is really like. We want to live in a big city. My husband met a egyptian guy who loves dallas and said they have a large community of egyptians there but I dunno if that is true...we arent really searching for a large egyptian community but a place that is more diverse and young. Any thoughts? Thanks

I was always nervous about going outside because i dont liek all the staring and weird loks they give me but I duno if that is what you meant.... hope you are better and enjoying your time in hurghada....I never went that far south but I think we will next time
