  1. Is the Police Certificate a World wide document? Does each country have a standard Police Certificate? or is it just a statement from the police departement that there is no record? because the beneficiary has no record.

"Police Certificate" is different for different countrys / states / provinces .. In Canada you contact the Local RCMP ( police ) and request one .. Just have the beneficiary contact his/her local law enforcement and inquire ... Keep in mind if the beneficiary has lived in more then 1 place for a period of a year she will need certificate from those places also .. Best of luck

  3. OK .. here goes ... i'm wondering if everyone out there got this email after USCIS recieved the recent IMBRA RFE .. ??

On June 27, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

" However because preliminary processing was complete " I have to wonder if that means had the delay not come our case would have possibly been approved already ? @ any rate it's not helpful ... considering there is no maximum time stated in the message .. and as we all know the pesky March 6th Vermont centre date hasn't changed .. But if any of you got the same message it would be great to know ! Thx

What a mess it seems they have made of things ! ** what a shock ** For us i'm glad that we havn't gotten an NOA2 yet ... and for those of you that have my heart goes out to you .. I do think though it's quite possible they have a plan of action considering the VSC posted new timelines this morning and the k1 cases are being processed with a date of March 6th .. when yesturday it said April 9th ... i thought @ first i hadn't had enough coffee ... but now it makes perfect sense !! Good luck to all .. lets hope they get it together

Awww Congrats !! It looks to me like you have everything in order .. I hope it all goes well for you  From what i have read it's not as painful as it all might seem ( lets hope ) I have a Question for you if you don't mind though .. as far as I-134 for Vancouver .. i have been trying to find out if they require 1 years income tax returns or 3 years like some places ( this info seems to be like a secret code ) .. if you help that would so rock !! And if not good luck anyways

  6. I think you need a little bit of patience--it has only been a few days.

The whole nature of my post was " I wonder if it's possbile they say they sent it but it's not actually in the mail on the date in question " .. I'm a rather reasonable person ... I think it's perfectly normal to be curious if they lay about in a bog of paperwork for a while before they come and if that was what does happen .. it's very possible that one of the people here would have experienced it .. But thank you so much for your useful tip .. Thanks so much everyone for the kind words :D

  7. Yodrak ,

Thx .. i did search the Vancouver website for info .. before i asked here  I should have mentioned in my post .. but i have the email for K1 Inquiries .. i can ask them for the details they will require so i can be prepared .. but part of me wonders if it's best left untill they request information .. it's tough to say if it's worthwile getting ahead of myself .. they may decide to ask on a case by case basis .. it's all one great big guessing game

  8. OK ! Since my head can't relax i have one more Q ( for now ) lol .. From what i can find in the FAQ about I-134 is that a certain consolate may require 3 years of income tax returns instead of just one .. but not all ? I can't find much info about it on USCIS site apart from the eform and instructions .. They say one year not 3 .. ugh ! I wish they would choose a set of rools and stick to them ! The issue for us would be the 2005 return is far over poverty level .. and the 2004 one is also far over but the 2003 return is a bit short due to only working half the year.. does anyone know how this works ? Maybe i missed some info in my searching .. I was thinking if it was a matter of all three years taxes combined that number would be far above the poverty guidlines x 3 years .. but if all that matters is that one year ( 2003 ) we may be in trouble

  9. Just wondering if any of you had to wait a long time to get RFE in the mail ... the USCIS site says they sent us one on the 26th April .. and nothing yet in the mail ....... I wonder if it's possbile they say they sent it but it's not actually in the mail on the date in question? If anyone has had this happen input would be fantastic .. Waiting to know what the mystery problem is TORTURE .. LOL ... but we all know about waiting

  10. Yikes !! Our pictures only have the dates i wrote on them .. really ! These days digital camera or not by the time they go from computer to disk .. to an actual picture ( walmart do it yourself machine ) the date is long gone. I hope it's not an issue  BUT we sent plently of other proof .. so we should be just fine ! even if they don't like the dates on the pictures  ( i hope ) wait wait wait .. or as my Fiance says ok lets Hurry up and wait some more .. hehehe

  11. Hi, we are waiting for NOA2 now but i am worried. We hired Hollms and Lolly immigratin attorneys to prepare the papers. They never asked for any proof of our relationship like phone bills, e-mails etc before submitting the petition. We only sent them the proof of meeting in person- pictures together, airplane tickets, visa in the passport. Were we sipposed to send the copies of the phone bills and the e-mails now, with the petition, or we will need them for the K1 interviw? Thank you for any response. The waiting is killing us and if we get RFE.......we dont even want to think about it. Let God help all of us.

Don't worry .. all thats required for the petition is proof of having met in the last two years .. wich would be why thats what the lawyer asked you for ! Proof of actual relashionship will come later .. Good Luck

  12. The reality is .. that it is never one persons place to judge another ! Life is filled with choices that need to be made .. and we are all human... we don't always make the right ones .. it's that simple. All of us have most probably experienced heart ache of some kind .. We grow and we change and we learn from our mistakes .. and from our pain without the added insult of being judged by a stranger with little information ........ You will remain in my thoughts (F)

  13. Okay this may be an entirely dumb question but I'll ask anyways... On my g-325a, I needed to make an attatchment sheet for my employment history..Now lets say I was unemployed from mid november until may 7th, the day I started work last year..Since they ask for months and not days, The unemployed months are from November until april, and not May, since I was employed for the majority of May right?

Your right .. put May as employed .. if they wanted to know exact dates of the months they would have space for them ... ! Good Luck

I'm a little confused of what i should put into the "applicant's residence" box: what degree of detail they are expecting?

In my case in the last 5 years i've been at UCLA for 3 months, than back to Italy then over at my gf place for a month then back to italy, then again over for 3 months and back to itsaly and back to her place for a month than came back to italy but at different place.

Do u think i should put all of them? Also cuz evidences i'm giving of the relationship includes boarding passes related to my trips to the US.

    Thanks in advance

My best advice would be .... Place of residence means the place you legally live .. where you get mail have bills .. ect .. not where you visited .. it sounds like you will need more space then they offer on the form ! hehehe good luck !

  14. Awww ! How very sad to hear such a tale ..... And after all that you have been through ! Some people have no shame .. :( Not that i " know " exactly what you should do in this case .. i wouldn't be so fast to confront her if you already know the truth .. i would consider seeking legal council to be sure of your rights and responsibilities before any confrontation takes place ... it always best to be informed !! I can't begin to say how sorry for your situation i feel (F):star: Best of luck ~

  15. I guess I am not understanding this whole K-1 visa thing. lol

I understand it is the Fiance Visa, but how do you get the ball rolling and how do you apply? What do you need? Does the Fiance file for it (in this case, in the UK) or do I file it being the US Citizen?

My boyfriend and I are trying to figure out the best place to reside and also trying to figure out how he would come over here. This would just be straight up, getting a Fiance Visa, getting married in the US....but then what? What do we file after we get married so he can work and reside here?

Heeeeeeeellllllllllllllpppppppppppp!!!! lol I am totally lost!!!!

Also how long does it take? What are the fees? Etc etc etc...please point me in the right direction...

    Thank you!

The best thing to do to start the K1 process .. is to read and read and read some more the Visa FAQ tab on this site is very helpful !! You file the first set of paperwork (I-29F) .. being the US Citizen - be sure you meet or can meet all of the requirments and understand everything before you start as there are many steps .. Basicly though the whole process can take as little as 6 months from start to finnish ( getting your husband to be to the US ) but it can take much longer ( 13 months for some friends of mine ) .. after he comes to the US you have 90 days to get married ect ect ect ect .... working in the US is a different matter of seperate paperwork ... the K1 Visa isn't a work permit so be prepared for that .. The best advice i can offer though is to read ... http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1faq.htm <--- Is Great ! and after http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...tom&page=k1flow <--- helps to understand the exact step by step ! I hope this helps @ least a little .. and Best of Luck

  16. I sent the K-1 application 11 days ago priority mail to the Nebraska Center. I have not received anything in the mail and the check hasn't been cashed yet. It seems that most people are getting their NAO1 notices much quicker than 11 days and that the checks get cashed within 11 days too.

Can I call to see if they received the package? It was my mistake that I didn't pay extra to have the package tracked to see when/if it had been received.

I am not a patient person! This is already killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Brenda

Take a deep breath .. Our timeline is very close to yours .... We sent ours to the Vermont center though .. date sent was April 11th and we got the NA01 on the 24th ( yesturday ) the check has not been cashed yet .. i would bet you will get yours soon ! I wish you the best of luck .. it's HARD to wait .. but i have a feeling we have a lot more in store !

  17. If you have "sole custody" of your children, then all you need to do is to take your legal documents stating that with you to your interview.

I had "joint custody" of my daughter with my ex, so I had to get a "Statutory Declaration" done, my daughter's Dad had to sign it giving his permission for her to leave Canada and live with me in the U.S., and then the form had to be notarized. The Statutory Declaration cost me $25.00 to get notarized and I filled it out myself, and got my ex to sign it.

    Good luck.

Thx for the really helpful reply ! I have one more question ( well one this second ! ) when you had to get the Statutory Declaration .. did you know previous to your interview that you would need this completed for the interview ? ... Or was it done after the interview ? It's a wonderful to hear that " sole custody " is all they will require as my ex can be rather ... " unpredictable in his decision making " although i do feel he would give permission if it was needed .. as he's aware of the situation ( like it or not ) .. i think best to be prepared for anything thats going to come in a time like this !!

    THX again ! Robin ~

  18. Hey everyone !! Me and my husband to be ( he is american - i'm Canadian ) have just recently started the K1 process .... we sent the first set of paperwork in and just got the first letter saying that it arrived ! .. One down 20000000000 to go .. ? LOL .. @ any rate ... i have done LOTS of reading and feel i understand the process quite well ... The issue for me is this .. When it comes time for the interview for me and my two children what sort of proof of custody will they be looking for to grant k2 visa's to my children ? It is rather complicated .... I had my son prior to my first marriage , his birth certificate is blank in the father section as well as his passport ! as his father is unknown .. when my previous marriage was terminated ( divorce ) I remain with sole custody / gaurdianship of him ... although the divorce agreement does say that My ex husband will have access to him ( there are no legal times / dates for access .. it's understood we will work it out ) As for my daughter .. when we divorced ... i also have sole custody of her .. but my ex and i share gaurdianship .. ( wich means i'm required keep him informed of issues regarding health and school ) he also has access to her with no legal times / dates .. the same as with my son it's understood we will work such things out on our own .. in regard to the shared gaurdianship the divorce agreement states clearly that if him and i can not come to an agreement about such issues that i will have the authority to decide and he has the option to seek legal council ... If anyone has any information for me about exactly what they will require !! Or if having sole custody will be enough .. or any input @ all it would be GREATLY appriciated !!!!

Thx !!! Soooooooo much Robin ~
