  1. Sometimes is just hard to let things go, but you've said it yourself... she hasn't discussed coming back... because maybe she doesn't want to?, sometimes we think it's our responsibility to look after people we love, but you can't change who they are and how they feel, you can't rescue her , maybe she needs to stay where she is, and if you do decide you love her that much , and mostly, she wants to try it again (which she hasn't discussed it) then... you could consider trying again but where she is... do not force it, and do not force her to come back if she already decided to leave.

    Good luck and stay strong!

  2. Hello everyone!

I'm applying for a k1 at the moment, have my interview scheduled for the 14th of September! I'm super nervous, but mostly anxious.

I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum, and it has been awesome, thank you everybody!

I do have a couple of questions, since I'm just making sure I have everything I need to take with me to Ciudad Juarez, México:

*Our lawyer sent out a I-134 F along with our I-129 , but I've read that they request for an original at the interview, should I make him do another one (signed) and send it to me?

*The form G-28 (attorney's appearance) , was sent also along with the I-129, should I take another one (original) to the interview?

*I've read that k1's do not need to get vaccinations at the medical, however, I've read that they've been asked for their vaccination records even though they do not get any vaccinations, Do I need that? (vaccination records)

Thank you so much in advance!! I'm so nervous!

  3. I highly recommend bestday.com to purchase flights, I've done some research, and comparisons. When it comes to Ciudad Juarez, yes, it's up to them where it's going to be, unless there's an exception but it is very rare. Our lawyer filled out our form I-129F, and on part 2, where it says , "Information about your alien fiancee" it says : "Your fiancee will apply for a visa abroad at the American consulate at:" and gives you the option to "choose" the city or town, he wrote down "Merida". There's a note on the other side that says "NOTE: Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.

Means you could try but it might end up going to Ciudad Juarez.
I'll be staying at the City Express Hotel, is the closest one , just across the street.
  4. Hello I noticed that my status changed to approved , that means I'm on NOA2, however, I'm a little confused when It comes on how to continue with the process now that we are waiting for the NVC to have our case number ready. We hired a lawyer (didn't want to, waste of money, fiancé insisted) , but I'm getting anxious now .

    Found this information on here:

It can take weeks for you to get the letter from CDJ. The good news is, you do not have to wait for the letter to get started. You only need the letter for the medical and appointments in Juarez. If you get everything filled out and scheduled and your letter from CDJ still doesn't arrive before you need to go to Juarez, then you can go early the first morning you are there and get the letter from the consulate customer service information window.

Here is how it works for Juarez:

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260 by calling 603-334-0700

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links(which I am posting below) listed in the letter. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez....ianceforms.html , instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot):http://photos.state....packetk1may.pdf ,schedule ASC: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourn...xico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourn...&cty=&dfilter=5

    - But I have a couple of doubts:

    1.-

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260

    - Does this refers to USCIS status check number, Paid fee and NVC Case number?-

    2.-

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

I'm guessing that once they give us our case number over the phone it means that it has reached the Juarez Consulate, Am I right? , so means I could take an extra day before the medicals and appointments to go get it in person. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

3.- When it comes on which documents to bring to the appointments, do they request original ones? If my case was sent by our lawyer, Do i need to bring all those papers too? original ones? since it's a k1, what do I have to get done there in Juarez? : fingerprints, pictures, medical, biometrics, interview... I ask because I have a laser 10 year visa and I already got my picture taken and fingerprints, Do I need to do it again? Should I create a new account for the USCIS site? Or use the old one? ...

4.- I'd have to take a flight there since I live at the other side of the country , so how many days should I be considering to stay there so I can get everything done with no rush and stress?

I knoooow is a lot ... I'm just overthinking too much, but I'd appreciate your help and experience on this, I miss my bebe too much :(...

(Sorry If I didn't post it at the Mexico's regional Forum, I'm a newbie and I couldn't find it )

  5. That's why I'm posting here, the cost of the visa isn't insignificant to me, and I'd like to have a good chance of getting approval. Also I have heard if you don't get it the first try, it's even harder to try again. So I was looking for tips, but I guess most people here think everything has to be fraud, which isn't the case at all. I just want to know what to say, and what to keep quiet about.

When it comes to that, you shouldn't keep quiet about anything, if they ask you something, answer with the truth... period.

You'll never know 'til you try.

    Best of luck!

  6. I just got approved, and let me tell you this, I wasn't asked to show money in a bank account, actually I don't like to save money in banks but at home (old school) ,anyways, you could have 10 credit cards, and 10,000 usd in your bank account and still wouldn't care as long as if the consul thinks that her job isn't well paid enough to go on a trip to the U.S and come back to her country. Job and family attachments are what they are looking for, everybody is a possible illegal inmigrant, they know that anybody could ask someone to make a deposit to a random bank account, they are trained to detect threats to their country. I'd advice her to get a better job, one that actually she would refuse to "leave behind" when travelling to the U.S.

    Good luck! :)

  7. Sorry but you do seem to be trying to get to the U.S anyway possible, I have a foreign languages degree, and I've never left my country, and to quit your job and take your child with you just for a 3 month course (which you could totally take online) or at home with native teachers? nope, sorrry, not buying it!

  8. I have been reading more about this, and it is possible to marry on a tourist visa (as long as that isn't the intent of coming here), and file for AOS. I've read it's advisable to wait at least 30 and preferably 60 days before getting married though. And it's also advisable to not leave the country before getting advance parole. Problem is that could take another couple months, and her daughter is only 5, I don't think it would be good for either of them to be apart that long. If we do get married after 30 days, what are the options for getting her daughter here ASAP?? Would adoption work?

I don't know about the daughter issue, but I'll be honest with you, because of people doing that (getting married on a tourist visa) is the reason why people like me and many others struggle to get one, I spent 3 slepless nights and $10,000 mexican pesos on the trip, visa fee, expenses, etc.

If that's really going through your mind right now, I'd advice you to go for a k1, that way your fiance and her girl wouldn't spent so much time appart.

  9. I'd recommend you to try the tourist visa first, me and my bf are planning on getting married next year, we haven't started our k1 process yet.

You'll never know 'til you try, it really doesn't matter if you have a car, lands, savings, etc. but the fact that she has a child back in her country it is a good family attachment, also I realized that it doesn't really matter if you have been working for 1 month or 5 years at your current job. Also, if the applicant has no intentions to stay in the U.S (in this case illegaly) it really shows, telling the truth, being polite, and in my case "smiley" makes you confident.

I just got approved this past tuesday, I recently graduated from college,no kids, I'm 28 yo, my boyfriend is in the U.S (I stated in my application where I was going, for how long, adress and his name) , I've been working in my current job for almost 3 months, I'm a remote bilingual Interpreter, and I hardly make $500 usd per month (I'm from México and our currency is going down each day), but you know what? I don't have ANY intentions to stay in the U.S, when you are confident about the information you've given to the consul it really shows. There's a reason why they are there, they are trained to detect threats to their country.

Documents are not really requested but it doesn't hurt to take them with you to back up your answers, I saw consuls requesting for documentation to some people, getting denied and approved as well. So, you'll never know til you try. If it doesn't work then it's time to apply for the k1.

Good luck and tell your girl to be friendly, to smile a lot, and most importantly have confidence in herself.
