  1. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Each year every american is entitiled to a free annual credit report. I have used this in the past and got my reports and printed them off my home pc. Good luck.

    Mary

If you want to get his credit score, I believe you need to pay a small amount of fee (around $9.00). At least that's what I needed to do last year. The free part of the report will only show his credit activity, not the score.

  2. In this case filling as single won't get him too much into problem as he won't be owning IRS anything, if anything else and he has to change his status to Married while being audited, IRS actually would have to send him a bigger refund check assuming his wife overseas income is not overboard like being in (UK or EU countries i would say, but for most other countries i doubt the spouse income will be high enough to create any major headache)

Filing single while you are married will only put IRS in advantage. My income back then was not high enough to even be considered here. If they audit us, we will be waiting for them to send us some checks. I doubt that they will though :P

Filing married while you are single is another story.

  3. I took mine off. In most part of Indonesia, it's a custom to take your shoes off when you enter someone's house. So unless the host asks me to keep them on, I will take them off.

I put a sign in front of my door: "Thank you for helping us keep our house clean and comfortable for our guests by taking your shoes off." That works like charms !! :D

  4. That really stinks !! Similar thing happened to my brand new car a couple of months back, guy backed into its front bumper and ran. We found the car in the parking lot, but of course they denied everything. Cops said they couldn't do anything as this case became "I say, he says" thing...

  5. I agree with what other posters suggested, it might better off if you move to Canada, maybe stay there temporarily to visit and take care of your fiance ? I don't think his illness will prevent him from immigrating here, but you might want to consult with lawyer to be sure.

If you are still looking for cancer center nearby your place, you can try to call American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345. They might be able to guide you to the right direction.

    Wish you all the best.

  6. My hubby filed as single during our K3 process, mainly due to his "laziness" of getting the ITIN and stuff :P No problem at all with IRS or with USCIS. When we did AOS, the officer didn't even look at the filing status for the previous year, she mainly concerned with how much he made and how many dependents he had.

There are some advantages of filing married, even if it's separately, but I just want to share my experience that we didn't have any problems even with filing single.

  7. This is info that I got from a financial advisor in our credit union: 401K is gained through employment, so your wife cannot have a 401K, but she can do IRA (which is basically the same as 401K, but you can do it yourself). Better double check with your accountant or financial advisor to be sure.

  8. the reunion show was definitely worth watching! it took me ages to recognize bradley and i still don't know who the lady with the long straight brown hair was (that sat at far left).

That lady is Stacy Estrella (not sure if that's how she spells her last name), she got booted out in the first episode, so probably not a lot of people remember her.

Enjoyed watching last night reunion show too ! I cannot believe that that obnoxious Keith thought that he was being set-up, that the books just suddenly re-appeared in his bedroom and therefore he thought that it was unfair for him to get sent home. ####### ?? Why would anyone do that to him ? It's bad enough to cheat, to deny it and try blaming someone else is worse... yuck ! Glad that he's gone !!

Sooo happy for Michael for getting the $10,000 !! :D

  9. This American read all the Mallory Towers, Secret Seven, St. Clare's and Naughtiest Girl in the School books.

Count me in. On top of that, I also read all Harry Potter book, am eagerly waiting for the 7th one, watched all the HP movies, plus have some HP screen savers installed on my computer !! I'm the "king of evil" !!!

  10. I wouldn't have this problem either. My parents own a small business in Indonesia and they have zero intention of moving here. They are happy with their lives there, have friends and other things that will make it hard for them to move.

Neither of us want our in-laws to live with us under one roof. It's just privacy thing above all else.

  11. Why not? The byproduct of combustible engines is smog and other forms of pollution which effects the air you breathe. Not only does it make sense that we regulate how much pollution cars create but we need to hold auto maker's responsible for the impact on our environment. I'm not sure why public health is not as important as public safety.

Emissions testing is already here, as well as catalytic converters. What should have been regulated more IMO is furthering the definition of "vehicle improvment" in the laws as written. I could care less about touch pad entry into a car.... just get me better mileage than 30MPG and saying that its awesome when we have the tech to make each car go over 80MPG's.

But haven't the auto makers successfully lobbied against higher fuel effeciency standards?

So whose fault is that ? The auto makers' who lobbied the government or the government who subdued to the lobbyist ?

America's most populous state, California, opened a new front in its struggle with climate change yesterday when it announced that it was suing the six largest carmakers in the US for allegedly contributing to global warming.

In the unprecedented lawsuit, the state accused Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Chrysler and Nissan of creating a "public nuisance" and costing it millions of dollars. Environmental campaigners hailed the lawsuit as a landmark event in the effort to deal with global warming.

Another absurd lawsuit in USA...
