fabalis1 got a reaction from coneyisland in JFK POE
My husband entered through JFK in December on his K-1 visa. He had never been to the US before and, at the time, spoke very little English. He said the Immigration officer just asked him when he's getting married. They stamped his passport and told him to get married within 90 days. It was all very simple. It just took him about 2 hours from deplaning to exiting the secure immigration area. His Brazilian cell phone didn't work here when he landed, so I had no communication while waiting for him until I saw him, so that was a little nerve wracking. Basically, if your story is legit, all the paperwork is in order, and you're not trying to import any illegal substances, there's no reason to worry. Everything will be fine.

My fiance received his K-1 visa in November of last year from the Rio de Janeiro consulate. He received it in 8 calendar days via courier to Goiania (interview 11/17, via received 11/25) and Thanksgiving was 11/24. The courier was overnight shipping, so to get it to the ASC in town it shouldn't take any longer. You have a good shot of it all working out.

Tax transcripts from the IRS are better. They can be requested online and arrive in 1-2 weeks. If you include a copy of the actual 1040 form, you'll also need to include a copy of all W2s and 1099s.

I'm 15 years older than my (now) husband and the consulate didn't ask him anything about the age difference during his K1 interview in November. I think you have plenty to show that you have a bonafide relationship. For the passport, you will need to copy all pages of your fiance's passport if you do not include a copy of his certified birth certificate (assuming he was born in the US). If you include the birth certificate, you'll just need to include the bio page and the pages with any entry/exit stamps showing him visiting you. For pictures...try to include a few from each visit he's made. Write your names, date of the photo, and location on the back of each. I think it was also helpful to include a photo of me and my husband's family on one visit to show the Consular official that I have met his family as well.
As mentioned, you don't get to pick the Service Center. USCIS will route it for you. Mine went to California.

fabalis1 got a reaction from kikibooboo in Declaration of having met + Proposal + Short time dating??
My finance and I only met 6 months ago, so I was a little worried about this too. I wrote a short paragraph for question 34a on the I-129F (on a separate sheet since there's almost no room on the form), explaining how and where we met, when we decided to be romantically involved, that I met his family, other times I visited him and when I plan to visit in the future. At his interview last week, they asked him if he's really sure he wants to marry me since we only met six months ago. He, of course, said yes and that he loves me. I didn't state anything about who proposed to whom or when. His visa was approved with no problem.
