  1. Hi,

We used a copy of NOA2 and a copy the letter that the NVC sends stating your case has been forwarded to the embassy. We didn't have any problems.

In fact, I got a email 2 days before our embassy interview stating "you my now schedule your interview". If you wait for them to send you a letter you will be waiting two months or more.

I did wait until the NVC website listed our case as ready.

For the payment, Just send your fiancee the money and let her pay for it. Make sure to have her print a payment coupon from the travel docs website.

  2. Hi everyone! Mabuhay.

    My itinerary is this:

DAVAO TO MANILA via Philippine Airlines

    (6hrs layover)

MANILA TO CHINA via China Southern

    (1hr 15mins layover)

CHINA TO LOS ANGELES via China Southern

This is my first international flight alone so I have a couple of questions:

    a. Do I have to get my checked in baggages when i arrive in manila?

    b. How is China airport? is the 1hr 15 mins enough for me to go through customs

    and transfer planes?

    c. What are spme tips you can tell me?

    Thanks a lot!!!! :)

    GODbless.

    Hi,

I have flew with China Southern, during my last trip to Manila from San Francisco. China Southern goes through Guangzhou China. The system there is a lot different then Tapei. In Guangzhou You will need to exit the plane quickly, as you will have to go through a customs check even with a connecting flight.

It sounds more scary then it is. The customs check is really just a time waste, they just look at your passport and ticket, then stamp the ticket.

With only a hour or so until your next flight you may need to run to your gate, as they will most likely be boarding, while you are still in the customs line.

Everything with workout, just don't wear high heels, you need running shoes ;)

  3. May i know how old is your fiance?

She is 20 years old, 21 in Nov.

Hi NOTED on this :D Thank you ! Can you please tell your fiance Jas to share me her CFO experience. Thank u .. i will have my CFO seminar too soon :D

  4. Hi its me again!

My son wants to continue his college education in Medical Technology but there is no college or university here in Guam that offers that course. We are thinking of sending him back to Manila. Will this hurt his visa? We cant afford to send him to US mainland since the tuition is too expensive.

    Any advice?

Getting a Med Tech degree is a smart move on his part and sending him to a college in Manila will save tons of money. He should research which state he will eventually work in as they may have requirements for foreign graduates.

  5. I don't understand why is this relevant anymore. We know each other for almost 10 years we met a few times in the past 2 years. We have pictures, recipes,

I meant my fiancee on FilipinoCupid and I marked no to the IMBRA question. Our visa was just approved and is on it's way to Manila. I hope that helps you.

  6. Sorry if this isn't the best place to post this but I seem to have trouble figuring out where my questions should be categorized.

Me and My Fiancee are currently waiting to hear from the NVC as we received out NOA2 last week. Unfortunately we have hit sort of a snag right now. She has yet to get her passport and the process has moved along faster than expected which is great but now I'm starting to worry if we will be able to finish before our NOA2 expires. She has all the IDs necessary to apply however the earliest appointments we can find to schedule is not until October and it will then take time from there to receive the passport. On our first attempt we scheduled an appointment for the 17th of October which is heartbreaking to even think about but our confirmation email never came. Upon calling the DFA they said that they have issues with yahoo and to wait for three days for the appointment to expire and try again. Apparently since August 17th of this year they switched to a fully online process so they no longer will help us over the phone. So we waited until last night and were able to reschedule for October 5th! A much needed improvement and we used a gmail account (both yahoo and gmail are the recommended emails to use according to the DFA site btw) but now almost 12 hours later still no confirmation has arrived. We are both getting quite nervous over the situation. She sent them an email, plans to call today when she get up, and even plans to go into an office if that does not prove effective. Has anyone else run into a similar issue and has a fiance(e) in the Philippines? If anyone has any advice or insight on this matter we would both greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read my long post :)

My fiancee is having the same issue. What I'm doing is sending her to Cebu. Now, the DFA Passport system is not functioning correctly, so use IE when filling out the appointment.

The other option is Baugio, which is about a 8 hour bus ride from Manila.

Both have appointment about 3 weeks out.
