Glad I could provide a diversion but unless I've misread posts and trends 3-5 months is not out of the norm for the prepared K1 in Jamaica since California has been processing.
I would like to amend my comment by saying that a fiancé visa or spouse visa would be your best route. I don't know enough about your financial situation or other background information to suggest K1. I do know the chances of getting a visitor's visa based on what was reported earlier are remote. Good luck to you and yours.

Save your money and start the K1 application. If it's any consolation, Jamaica tends to process and approve K1s relatively quickly unless drugs or significant red flags are involved. Do your research, front load and put together a great package. If you do that and the trends remain the same you could have her here this spring.

I got my ex' number by making an info pass appointment and asking.

Like Alaska2012 I have been asked to turn my laptop on when travelling internationally through Europe and Africa and I'm a US born citizen. You could very well be asked too but not because of your K1.

Please listen and take care of your child. Remove him from the abuse and report immediately. Everything else comes a distant second.

Hi congratulations. We're waiting for notification. You received an email and regular mail?

It doesn't cost $10,000 to get a CR/IR-1 visa, unless you use a lawyer. If you do it yourself, it's about $1,200. Yes, the CR/IR-1 is definitely a painful and lengthy process.
I think the 5-year visa you're talking about with the multiple entries are tourist visas. The spousal visa takes around the same wherever you are, around 10 to 14 months and the fees to pay are the same regardless of your country.
OP, something to add about the difference between K-1 and CR-1 visa. On the CR-1 you can work as soon as you enter the US, on the K-1 you need to apply for EAD and AOS and bunch of other stuff. So while the K-1 usually gets you to the US faster, you can't work or leave the US until you've gotten married and filed multiple forms.
I think the last point is really worth considering. I've read too many posts where K1 people haven't prepared for the months of a single income household. In trying to cut corners they're unable to pay filing fees in a timely manner and they are really in a tough bind. Also K1 timelines have sped up as of late due to CSC rerouting.

what about for a CR1 can the petitioner can inside with a USA passport /?
Not all embassies are the same in terms of admittance. I'm unsure of yours but you should definitely check. It's worth it.

Wow!!! Best wishes out to all of you on your upcoming interview.
Yes! USCs are allowed to go to the interview at the Kingston Embassy. In fact, I was welcomed this past November 13th. I had my passport out and in hand when on line outside the embassy and kept it visible the entire time. The Jamaica information page needs to be updated from "no" to "yes" in regards to being allowed inside (but who knows what will happen as the political winds blow). Each time my fiancé was called to the window, I went up with him. The second time he was called for questions I was even asked a few. It was a pleasant experience for the both of us and I would recommend that anyone who can afford to go attend and add the experience to your collective memory as a couple...Again, best wishes!

You've gotten great advice so far and should intensively research your portal. You can print screen for Skype. I chose to pull out one or two conversations a month and highlighted conversations showing more concrete relationship matters and organized that with my fiancé's binder. I also came to the interview with my own full binder of every single what's app, skype, and phone log entry...just in case :-) None of it was looked at or needed at my embassy but YOURS, there is no such thing as being over prepared. ALSO, and most importantly, I would reschedule my trip to overlap with the interview without a doubt. Don't take that too lightly. If you come early , you can even take more family and friend photos. Have them printed out and add them to his packet. Best wishes!

Hopefully it's not his intent to keep you powerless and totally dependent. At any rate you're doing the right thing by educating yourself and understanding both your rights and responsibilities. Are you included in his financial life in a way that helps to establish a bonafide marriage? That question is for you, not to respond to me or the forum. Are you a part of his will, bank account, power of attorney, lease/mortgage, bills? Just food for thought. Good luck to you.

I've not heard of any embassy accepting w2s in lieu of tax transcript/filed taxes. If you don't send what is needed you will put your case in jeopardy. Why not wait a week for your transcript and be certain of compliance?

Lol. Well alright gf! Go get your man :-)

I quoted from the K1 visa directions. Like our esteemed moderator suggested read the directions carefully and follow them. Good luck and blessings to you dear.

Hi,
The embassy directions for Jamaica clearly state that, "marriage certificates are required for both you and/or fiancé along with the accompanying divorce or death certificates to prove dissolution..." I am divorced and provided the appropriate documentation as the petitioner. Please, please, please get that in.

Jamaica is not a high fraud country. Why do people keep erroneously saying that?
My dear, it is extremely unlikely that your beneficiary would get any kind of visitors visa whilst going through the immigration process. People will tell you that you can apply and this is true. Legally you can. Our government will happily accept your application and your money but you would have a better chance winning a million dollar jackpot than getting a B visa. That's just straight talk. My soon to be brother in law was able to get a visitors visa in Jamaica to attend his mother's funeral in the US but my fiancé who had a then pending K1 visa was denied a visa. You could try meeting in Jamaica or another Caribbean country that doesn't require a visa on his part. Sorry hon. I'm trying to save you a few coins :-(

What about scheduling an appointment with infopass and asking them for the number?

Congratulations and thank you for the good advice. I wish I had attended my husband's interview, but hindsight is 20/20. Next one I will be there! Have a blessed and happy life together.
Thank you and good luck to you.
Thank you all for the kind words and good luck to us all as we continue on our journey!

I'm so sorry to hear of your denial. What questions were asked? Make sure your fiancé gives you a full and complete account of the interview. If you choose to refile as a fiancé or a spouse you still have to address the concerns that caused the denial. Stay vigilant and don't give up.

I wish Nigeria let us in!!
I wish so too! I find the inconsistencies across embassies fascinating. It makes since to bring your fiancé as your best piece of supporting evidence of a bonafide relationship but that's when if you can't bring them to your interview you have them wait nearby and take in their passport. At least that's what I would do as suggested by some other sages in previous posts.

Congrats!!
May The Lord bless your life together!
Thank you and may God bless you as well.

Oh My!!!! Now that's what I get for being blizzard homebound! I misread while scanning and assumed mom was in the US and fiance was in Jamaica. A bit of deja vu/projecting on my part. Thanks for clearing that up for me Lioness Deon. I always enjoy your finesse, expertise, and direct way of speaking while being respectful.
