  1. Hello everyone,

I have read multiple threads here saying we should contact HCMC to confirm if they have mailed out package 3 - by phone or email.

Unfortunately, I can't find a link to contact via email inquiry.

The old link provided by visajourney no longer works:  http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/contact/ivinquiries.html  --> website not found

How did you contact them? by phone?

I just want to have them confirmed that they already sent out package 3.

    Thanks everyone.

  2. Spend a few extra dollars and send FedEx or UPS 2nd Day Air. Send to the address in Lewisville.

USPS is less than stellar. Their tracking capabilities are horrible.

You are sending important documents, some not easily replaced. USPS is not a reliable way to send important documents.

You can good UPS and FedEx locations to bring you package to and ship from there. They have retail stores all over the US

As other have said, do not use staples or binder.

    Good luck!

I have never had bad experience with USPS, even international mails/packages

I used Priority Mail for my case. Worked just fined

  3. Hello everyone,

I wish I knew it a bit earlier about 10-yr residency and list of relatives

    I have already submitted I-129F

Should I be worry about missing 10-yr residency and list of relatives (for both of petitioner & beneficiary) ?

Can I add the two mentioned docs when we submit required docs for NOA2 (such as I-134)?

Little of background: Both of us are never married. In relationship for 2+ years, and I have made 2 trips back to Vietnam to see my fiancee and we got engaged already. I think our case is very straight forward

    Thank you very much

  4. @ hyvong16: I wish you tow the best, don't give it up yet. I think others have given you good advise: - Visit your wife, still gather all the document, and keep checking.

    Please keep us here posted.

    Good luck

  5. @thinhnguyen: Maybe it is better to start a new thread with your questions so that future VJers can search without having to read through a long thread.

One of my friends paid $700 for Dich Vu to prepare his IR1/CR1 paperwork. I saw an ad in a VN magazine this past weekend that advertised $1,250 to file a K1 Visa (application fees inclusive).

I met my then-fiancee only once before filing for K1 but I accompanied her to the interview. We had our engagement party a week after we met for the first time (we, of course, had talked and planned for the engagement ahead of time). As long as your relationship is genuine (and not fake) and have plenty of proof then I think you will be fine.

    @frontgear: Thanks for your response

    - I did create a new thread :)

    - So frontgear, you did not hire an immigration lawyer and did all the paperwork by yourself? Good job man. My girl is so scared of this process so she insists me of hiring one. I don't see a reasonable cause since our case is straightforward.

    Thanks

  6. Hi All,

    Hope you are doing great.

I have a couple of questions regarding getting my fiancée (Vietnamese) to the US. We plan to have our wedding in Vietnam since it will be more meaningful & enjoyable than to have it in the US.

So we are considering pursuing K-3 or CR1. I have read a post from “Captain Edwok” from K-3 VISA Sub Link here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/301-k3-general-guide-and-info/?p=2417

It states that: “This visa option [K-3] is automatically also is applying you for a IR1/CR1 visa (by filing the I-130). Historically the K-3 was used to allow the US Citizens spouse to enter the US faster than waiting for the I-130 to be approved (since that used to take a long time). Recent reductions in processing times have allowed I-130's to be approved quick enough that the IR1/CR1 visa process has been a quicker and better option for K-3 applicants. If this happens the K-3 applicant can abandon the K-3 route and persue the IR1/CR1 instead.” (post is from 2006)

    1. Do you know if the above statement is still true at this point in time?

    2. If you did/do apply for K-3 / CR1 Visa, please tip me some reference points so I can make my own decision.

    Any thought, opinion is welcome!

    Cam on/Thanks

  7. Hi,

First of all, congrats to both of you. Chuc hai ban hanh phuc

It is always good to hear that another couple pass their interview. Your story reminds me of when I was in the US Visa interview years ago. It was really stressful to wait when I saw so many blue slips before my turn

Ok, I have a question for you:

    1. Did you hire a lawyer to prep your application or you did it yourself? If you hired a lawyer/service, how much did you pay?

    2. How many time have you met your fiancee before your interview date?

Anybody's answers are welcome. Please join in the disucssion.

    Thank all
