  1. I'm sorry to hear this Lstanick15.

we got the same notification on 23 May, when we received the letter, it listed out what we needed to do. It was a NOID but with instructions. They wanted a statement about some J visa and residency requirement :) So we went ahead of provided this.

We also talked to Tier 2 before we did it... If you are near an infopass office, i would highly suggest you book an appointment. We are 5hrs from our nearest Infopass so it wasn't an option.

We are still waiting for the outcome as we provided the information this past weekend.

Today I checked our online case status and was greeted with this message...

NOTICE EXPLAINING USCIS' ACTIONS WAS MAILED
On June 6th, 2016, we began reviewing your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Reciept Number WACXXXXXXXXXX. We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you do not receive your notice by June 20, 2016, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Can anyone help with what this means? I've tried finding some positive info on this site and all over Google but I keep finding posts that say it is a NOID (notice of intent to deny) yet I can't imagine them wanting to deny us at this stage. I worked in the US for 2 summers and my fiancé is a police officer. Surely that must stand for something to show this isn't a fake relationship.

  2. There are many options to choose for infopass.

Generally I will choose any option to get me into the USCIS office as quick as possible :content:

I am also thinking to include all your passport pages US entry stamps, showing that non is under J1 visa, in your NOID response.

    Good luck to you! (F)

Thats a lot of blank pages! hahahaha. Passport is fairly new.

I tried like 5 different options on the infopass- all non available... :|

    Thanks.

  3. Oh, sorry to hear that.

    What I will do:

Photocopy of all my current/old passport pages to show I never had a J1 visa before and respond to the NOID.

Or contact your congressman / senator to help you.

I also checked on the info pass- there is non available ... so i'm kinda stuck and just respond to it i guess...

  4. I am looking for some insight regarding our AoS case from K1, we got married in January 2016. We recently received a NOID stating Jvisa waiver required. However, I've never held a Jvisa. Yes i am a teacher but only traveled to the US on a VWP to visit family and friends.

I've called USCIS but it wasn't helpful. Tried to speak to Tier 2 and scheduled a call back but haven't got a call back...

so we are wondering what do we put on the waiver statement or just write a statement to USCIS stating that i never held a J Visa... Please advise how to proceed?

  5. I don't know really, cuz i don't know all your story and information. I've lived in Australia for the past 15 years before moving here to the USA and getting married.

My birth certificate was issued from the hospital i was born in in Taipei, Taipei Women's Hospital thats what he was called 30+years ago but now it is under a different name and administration.

Happy to discuss this further through pm if you give me more information may be i can figure out why...

  6. Hi 16Valve:

I'm sorry to hear about this.

Go down to your local bank in Australia- ANZ, Westpac, CommBank. The major big ones and buy USD and get a Bank Check in USD- it'll cost you may be like 50 bucks to get it all sorted in fees. Then mail the check- make sure it is registered mail and signature with tracking. I'd just mail it with Fedex it'll cost extra though.

It pretty much instant over the counter.

My now husband, sent a check on my behalf whilst in US when i was in Australia but it wasn't for DHS...

    I hope this helps.

  7. Hi all,

sorry we were out of town this past few days. It was a NOID but only to ask for a Notarized statement about some question on the form regarding J visa... So We are going to call tomorrow and speak to a real human... I've never been in the US on any kind of visa besides a WVP since i turned 18 so... it was weird.

  8. Hi Rangm021,

    You are very welcome.

I don't think sending it will slow the process down. We sent it pretty much with our RFE or a couple of weeks before... I only sent in a letter and a copy of my SSN card. I only applied for SSN after i got married so it has my married name on there and my maiden surname as my middle name.

I didn't have anything else to support my name change cuz my passport hasn't been changed yet etc. and they already have my marriage certificate so its pretty self explanatory.

    I hope it helps.

    Hello AUS2072!

Thank your for your response! I have a few questions for you!

I called USCIS about it and got instructed to write the letter for the local office. I am currently a few days from reaching the two-month mark of sending in my applications.

Do you know if sending them a letter for the name change will slow down the entire process of my applications? At what point in your timeline did you send in your letters? Also, what sorts of documentation did you submit to support the name change?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  9. Wind your neck in. Yes an opinion can be made but if you are going to be as subtle as an elephant attempting to be the sugar plump fairy it doesn't quite "help"... Maybe add a little empathy along the way and as others added there is the chance to rebut, which is a more helpful response as you provide the worst case scenario as well as a possible solution.

Put yourself in the persons shoes wage you offer a reply as I'm pretty sure you wouldn't just want to hear a negative sentence alone (however true it is!)

    Thank you!!!!!!

    No.

OP asked "what does this mean" - not "what does this mean, but only tell me good things".

Too many people come here angling for a specific answer to a question. In this case I guess the OP wanted to be told everything is fine, when in reality they're probably getting a NOID.

You can watch Donald Trump videos if you want to experience reality being twisted on its head. These forums are and should remain a fact-based tool, not somewhere to stick your head in the sand as you sing "Kumbiya" to yourself.

    I will pray for you!

I'm not angling for a specific answer. We are all on similar journeys and any decent human being would offer advice and some empathy!

  10. We got the same: Though my husband(petitioner) met 125% of the poverty guideline for our household size but we still got a RFE.

We submitted- W2's(tax return), 12months of bank statements, We also submitted a letter from his employer...

don't know if this helps you.

I don't know if we got approved or not.. still waiting for the letter to arrive...

The RFE my husband (applicant) received asked that since I (the sponsor) did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for our household size, I can either submit bank statements covering the last 12 months (statements will be averaged over a 12 month period) or a statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institution in which the sponsor has deposits, the account balance averaged over a 12 month period, and current balance as proof of assets.

So we just sent in a statement from the officer of the bank with information requested. I am praying that they approve it!!

Has any one else sent in a bank letter as proof of assets?

    Thank-you!!
