Word to the wise...if you are planning to change your name during this process, there are some things you need to know:
Pro: Financially it is a great time to do it, since the cost is included in your citizenship fees.
Cons/Potential issues:
1. It delays your oath ceremony, sometimes significantly. You have to appear before a judge and those ceremonies are not offered as often. Luckily our area was once a month, and it was local, however some more rural places may only have them once every 3 or 4 months.
2. If you plan to travel close to your oath ceremony, the process to get a passport gets more complicated and longer.
A. You need to make copies of the naturalization certificate, at least 3 or 4
B. You have to go to social security office. They will mail your card to you, although you CAN ask for proof that you changed it so that you can change your license. Be aware that you cannot get your new license the same day.

Best advice is to go in person. You can make sure they have the correct email on file and prompt them to open the account. Good luck

Any Updates from those waiting for K1 Fiancee Visa interviews at the Casablanca Embassy?
We have not yet to heard anything as of today, Thursday, November 19th.
NOA1 date: August 3rd
NOA2 date: September 2nd
Received at consulate and "ready for interview: September 4th
Thanks.
If your NOA2 date is 2 Sept, I don't think the consulate would have it 4 Sept, It still had to go through NVC. When did NVC say they sent it to the consulate when you called for the CSB#? They told me 11 Sept, but it took a couple weeks before the consulate said they got it even though CEAC said "ready for interview with a date of 14 Sept), and another 3 weeks before going there in person and finally getting someone to send an email with the date. Going in person seems the most effective way to get information. Good luck

I don't think the I-134 data would have to change until at least Feb 2016 since companies are not required to send out 2016 W2 until Jan 31, so there would be no tax return data available until income tax forms were filed and that deadline isn't until April, so can't update what you don't have, right? But I'm not a lawyer, so I will be praying you get it before then too

We've been CEAC "Ready" for one month today. We have not heard from the embassy yet. Just updating.
If you are close to the consulate, you could probably start going there in person and at least get the person at the window to open your file which will change the "update" date on the CEAC and verify that they have all the correct contact information. They won't let you near the window until 130 pm though, unless you are the American citizen. If you are far away though, or would be costly to do it, I would wait about another 2 weeks before going in person. My first "ready" date was 14 Sept and didn't get a date until 12 Nov, and it seems only because he went there and had the person open the file. If they tell you a date you will hear something, make sure you follow up.

When I called the NVC, they said it left 11 Sept, but the "CEAC READY update" said 14 Sept, but I seriously doubt it only took a weekend. I guessed at the consulate received date since when he went there in 5 Oct, they said they had had it "about a week"... Did not get definite dates and there was no change to the "CEAC" date until he actually went to the consulate that day, having been denied entry to the window the first time he tried to check, about 17 Sept so it's hard to really know for sure.

Finally got our interview date, Dec 10. I don't know if going there helps, but it might. Good luck all

There is one scheduled for NOV 23, noa2 was 2 weeks after ours, but was from Texas, so....but I just think many people don't bother creating an account here because I hear there are a lot of people at the consulate for the K1 that could be getting some but not reporting anything. I have checked to see if the consulate reports how many of each type of case they do, but haven't found anything, just VJ, and that only depends on the people who actually report. Everything is just an estimate, something to keep us occupied while we wait to make us feel like we are doing SOMETHING...
Keep the faith.

We have been "ready" on CEAC since Sept 14, NOA2 was Aug 14. When fiancé went to consulate Oct 5, he was told they had it a week and he would receive packet in a week...Nov 10 went again, and was told "oh, I will do it RIGHT AWAY"...and today they are closed...so we will see tomorrow.... I know patience is a virtue, but sheesh
I think they give you the "sent to embassy date" but the "Update" just shows that SOMEONE opened the file and it could have been at NVC or Embassy, so I am thinking it was not embassy. One trip to the consulate around Sept 17 resulted in being told that the NOA date wasn't "late enough" and wasn't even allowed to the window.
Personally, I don't think emails have ANY effect, they just answer when they are ready and if you are the type to write every week, it might seem they finally answered, but I think it was just coincidence. I have sent SO many emails, and Yes, they "answered" but just automatic reply, and forget trying to call..... 2 hours wasted, thank goodness I have a discount plan to Morocco
I'm trying to keep positive but it seems they are REALLY busy and it really doesn't matter how hard you try, it will get done when they get around to it. So just sit back and pray. I would like to believe that people are doing the best they can and there are good hardworking people involved. Best of luck to all in "limbo"

They (SS) told us it would show up in system at midnight but the DMV said it had to be 24-48 hours and tried to turn us away, but we told them we were told it would be available after midnight.
C. DMV, always helps to have an appointment or turn up first thing in the morning, and get in the virtual line with your smartphone on their website (if available). Even though you have your old license, they still want 2 more proofs of residence/address. They took our proof of ss change, but not happily.
D. FINALLY, passport acceptance facility. I suggest going to a courthouse, they will do your passport pictures for you and there is less chance they will be rejected. You can request expedited processing and 1-2 day delivery for them to send back the passport to you by courier rather than USPS. With it being the holidays, we paid for the extra shipping. Other choice is driving 4 hours to Miami for a passport agency, but I could not get a straight answer about when/how I would actually get the passport and even with losing 4 business days (holidays) over the 2 weeks between the first available appointment and the travel dates, they would not allow an appointment earlier than the 2 weeks.
I wish I had known this before, although we didn't know we would need the quick turnaround time when we first did the application 9 months ago. Just putting this out there for anyone considering a name change and what to expect.
Best of luck. These details relate to my experience in Florida, other states may be better/more efficient, but any knowledge helps.
