  1. Woow,6yrs?? Why did it take that long,i wonder why some go through the ordeal of waiting 6yrs or 3years,while for some, its just couple of months, what did the people waiting for number of years do wrong or did differently from others??

It just depends on the circumstances of each case. Some have to file for different things like a waiver. Some have to prove hardship and it takes time and money to collect evidence and sometimes all that was collected was not enough for approval so ppl have to collect more evidence.. Some ppl did things right so it's easy and some entered the u.s illegally, thus having to file a waiver... I hope you get the picture. It just depends.

  2. Hello all, again...thank you all for your reply. I think I finally have an idea as to why my case might be taking so long. After reading your replies, I realize you all did it through a lawyer, and I didn't. Could that be why?

if youre unfamiliar with processes like these and dont mind paying the costs of a lawyer, i think a lawyer is the best way to go. even with the help of our lawyer, we were lost the entire way thru lol but glad we made it out alive!

  3. Congratulations! I can imagine how excited you must be! How do you plan to welcome him to US?

I'm curious about why your i-130 took so long get approved? What is a i-601?

our i130 was filed in late november of 2012 and was approved early january of 2013. what took long was our i601a. its is a waiver for unlawful presence and proof of extreme hardship. my husband entered the u.s illegally and thats what the waiver is for. the proof of hardship was for me to show proof that i will suffer financially, emotinally, psycologically, etc... if he was to be relocated to mexico. it is a huge process that involves a lot of steps and documentation. the waiver was started in april of 2013, and was approved november 2014. we had to submit additional evidence in between after already submitting it once.

  4. Awesome! They emailed that paper to our lawyer and us. My lawyer stated she scheduled the appt.. She's also is taking care of everything. After she did that I rcvd an automatic email with the interview date, and DHL location we choose.

yea, they know what theyre doing, theyre the ones who log into that website. which DHL location are u getting it delivered to? my husband decided to stay in juarez..

  5. Hi there,

The paper had the following website to log into: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/. I hope this helps. I'm petitioning for my husband. Our lawyer has been awesome so far.

That website is for use after your interview is approved. It's to check or retrieve the tracking number for your passport. My husband was given that link after his interview we didnt have to access it because our lawyer took care of everything (thank god, we'd be lost without her). Visa was delivered wednesday late in the day, husband picked up visa early thursday morning.

  6. thanks for letting me know Boiler and congratulations Mrs. Carmona looks like all the hard work paid off. Mrs. Carmona did you hire a lawyer to help file this waiver?

Sorry I took long, I didn't get notified of your response... Yes we did hire a lawyer, who helped from the beginning when filing the I130 til the very end.... BTW husband got his visa today and is on his way home... Good luck to you and yours.

  7. Wow! I have been apart from my husband 9 nights, and 10 days and I was miserable with little to no sleep! I still won't see him til Saturday morning! I cannot imagine being apart for almost a year like you have! Kudos for holding down the fort til she returns! Our case took almost 3 years to complete. He was approved on Monday and got his visa today, he will be on his way home tomorrow!

    Congrats and best wishes!!

  8. So as some (very few) of you know, My husband just had his visa interview on Monday (July 27th) and has been awaiting the delivery of his passport.

Well I am estatic to inform you that he recieved it today!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS HELLELUJAH!!

Only took 3 out of the 5 days he was told for delivery.

I am so relieved! He can come home now, and I could get a good nights sleep!

Thank you to those who have supported me through this.

And good luck to everyone in their journey!!

It has been almost 3 long years since filing our I-130. We can BREATHE!

  9. I petitioned my husband for his waiver. It took a LONG time to complete. We started it in April 2013 and got the approval November 2014. I had to prove hardship and had to collect letters from friends and family explaining the hardship I could face of my husband was to be relocated to Mexico. I also had to be psychologically evaluated ($$). I had to get medical records, get physical exams done, show monthly expenses (I.e bills, receipts). Basically EVERYTHING, to show that I couldn't survive without my husband. We sent in our packet, which was about 2inches high!, in July 2014, we then got a letter saying they wanted MORE evidence! So we gathered more letters, more pictures, more EVERYTHING! I think what helped us the second time was my son's medical illnesses that we didn't mention the first time because he wasn't ill at the time. Anyway, the 2nd packet was approved November 14the 2014! It's a lot of work, I'm not going to sugar coat it. It's why it took us almost 3 years since we first filed our I130. He was just approved on Monday, now awaiting visa :)
