  1. Congrats... How was the questions?

    They were okay,

I felt the officer was fairly rude at one stage asking about my previous employment in the UK and how I got my position without going to University. She also asked about my UK salary which I felt was odd but other than that it was very straightforward and easy!

  2. Hi all,

I've got my interview on Thurs (12th) I just want to double check that I have everything I need. I know there are a million and one threads like this already I just need a little bit of reassurance!!

    • Embassy Letter
    • Proof of Payment for K1 Visa + Home Delivery
    • Passport
    • Birth Certificate
    • Police Certificate
    • DS-160 Confirmation
    • Fiancee I-134
    • Co-Sponsor I-134 + Proof
    • Old boarding passes + Visa Stamps from visits
    • Letters from Fiancee with postmarked envelopes.

  3. Hi all,

I have a quickie question about the Letter from the sponsors employers.

My Fiancée's mother will be sponsoring me and I have numerous documents from her regarding her income (Tax returns, wage slips etc) however from what I read, London mostly asks for a letter from the employer stating the annual wage. I have one of these however it was typed up on the computer and send via Email from the HR department of her firm. Unfortunately it is not signed and just has an email footer with the company logo and

    "HR Data Processing Team Member"

My question is would London accept this as it does not have an employee signature?

I will provide the letter in full below with the headers, footers and personal details omitted. Her mothers salary far exceeds the requirements.

    To: Applicant

    RE: Co-Sponsor

    EE # XXXXXXX

    To Whom It May Concern:

Please let this letter serve as proof that Co-Sponsor SSN (XXX-XX-XXXX) is an employee with Employer Firm in City, California. Her employment information is listed below:

    • Date of Hire: 11/14/2011
    • Job Title: Position
    • Salary: $XXXXXX.XX annually

If you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact the Employee Support Line at Phone Number Here.

    Sincerely:

    HR Data Processing Team Member

Would this information along with a corresponding tax return and pay slips be enough to satisfy the requirements?

    All help is appreciated.

    Many thanks in advanced.

  4. Thank you! Keep me up to date with your process, I'm guessing I'm only a few days behind you. Although there seems to be no rhyme or reason in this process.

I emailed the embassy last night and they have told me my interview is scheduled for November 12th!

'6yearslater' had hers scheduled for November 9th with a medical on October 2nd so it may be worth emailing the embassy and asking if they have an appointment date yet!

    Good luck!

  5. Thanks.

I was surprised how quick they responded. I did phrase it quite urgently, like I needed to know...Maybe I got lucky with a response.

I would say, give it on average 6 weeks between medical and interview. Between that time, notification of the date could vary. So you could find out date 2 weeks before interview.

I had them reply to me in 21 minutes once... If only that happens again! Yeah I was thinking around 6 weeks, its just nice to finally have a solid date so I can start letting family know *roughly* when the big move will finally go ahead!

  6. yes im definately taking a copy just odd I never got the letter. Who knows, I may get it today or tomorrow as they looked at my case today,

    Medical - 11th september

    Email response - 25th september

    interview - 26th October

Thanks, following the time between your dates it would seem that my interview should be around the 16th November. I hope the embassy will respond to my email with a date, I have left it over 2 weeks like you did.

Thanks for the info! Good luck next week!!

  7. I emailed them and got my date a couple of days after they updated status having got medical results. They said a letter was sent out (which I never got)

My interview is next monday and still no letter. Im not too worried, i have my email confirmation. Just odd that I never got the letter.

Im tempted to call NVC today just to double check my interview is still on Monday. Funnily enough, my ceac status was updated today which means maybe they sent out a letter today? Who knows

Hi Henley, from reading other reports like this I would take a copy of the email with you to the embassy. Its probably worth calling the NVC too. I am going to put some Skype credit on and give them a call today!

Edit: Just out of curiosity, when was your medical?

  8. I'm really hoping it'll come this week for us both!

& that is so exciting! I'm working up until I leave so I can save up and splurge on new furniture for the house :) It's nice being able to think about little things like that!

Still nothing. I should probably try to forget about it and the time will pass quicker, its just very hard not too especially with all of the reports of people not receiving their letters at all!

  9. :crying::crying::crying::crying: no. I'm getting really antsy and frustrated now though because I keep getting emails from the July filers saying they have received their interview dates (even though I'm extremely happy for them) can't help but feel jealous.

My CEAC status hasn't updated either - how about yours?

Nada. I just had someone at home check the mail and I've got nothing.

My CEAC status is the same but I didn't really expect it to update. It'll come through soon we just have to keep the faith! On the plus side I finish my job next Friday so I am pretty excited about that!

  10. See I've heard that it could take up to 4 weeks to get an interview date.. and most people's timelines are that it takes 6 weeks from the medical to the interview.. Which seems like such a long time but we are already 2 weeks down.

I know what you mean about the NVC though - but they just told me that there was no information there yet and to wait until I got an email but I am going to keep calling lmao!

It would be funny if we ended up with the same interview date.

Do you know if you're allowed to go at the opening hour? So say they schedule my interview for 1pm - can I still go at opening hours as its first come first serve?

I heard the opposite, its roughly 2 weeks to get the interview date then 4 weeks to wait for the interview. Never certain with this process though, I am just relieved to be on the final step.

I don't know whether they would allow you to go in early or not, I'd personally prefer the 1pm appointment so wouldn't need to pay for a hotel.

    Perhaps I'll see you there!
