  1. Update for the topic.

We were lucky enough and my wife and kid received 5 years visa. Thanks God!

The interview was quite nice and the CO was most concerned about me (the US citizen), and also asked why my kid is not a citizen as well.

We had a stack of documents prepared, he looked at none of them. Only checked the passports and asked few questions.

Now, I hope everything goes well and we experience no problems at POE.

  2. Thanks for all the replies.

I am planning to accompany my wife and kid in this trip. The plan is to have a 2 weeks holiday in the US (Visiting Disney is our first choice at the moment).

No reservations or booking is done so far. I will wait for the VISA to do so. Any issues with this approach?

I will write in the DS160, the address to visit, an hotel nearby Disney without specific complete address (since no actual booking is done yet). Any better way to do so?

  3. Dear VJs,

This is my first post, and I hope you can help me out.

I would like to apply for a B2 Tourist visa for my wife and kid in Cairo.

I am worried as I am a USC, but I have been living in Egypt since I was a kid and all my family are in Egypt. I have never been to the US like 20 years ago.

My wife has a government job, has a car and owns an apartment.

She has travelled 3 time to Europe, and had two schengen visas (the current one will expire in mid August)

I will be the one to pay for the trip, so I will provide my bank statement and HR letter (next to hers).

    I have several questions:

    - Am I allowed to accompany her in the interview?

    - Is the interview in English or Arabic? Is the interviewer a US or Egyptian person?

    - Do you recommend to take any additional supporting documents?

    - Finally, do you see hope to get the Visa or will it be waste of money? Any similar experiences?

    Thanks in advance.
