Hi Everyone,
I had my biometrics done on July 17th, 2019 and the case status hasn't been updated yet. From reading previous posts, aren't the status usually got updated one day or two after taking biometrics? My current status is stuck in March that they finished reviewing my fingerprints back in March.
Is anyone else experiencing the same?
My husband has his biometrics rescheduled July 3 and no update.
-
After not hearing anything since March about our biometrics being reused and not being able to check our case status on one of the sites and the app, we came home today to a letter with an appointment to do the biometrics again. Just in time too as we were just about to apply for citizenship since we haven’t heard anything, now we will probably just wait until we get the renewal card.
Is anyone going to try a walk-in rather than wait for their appointment?

Hi,
There is also this site: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
The app is called Case tracker and looks like this on the app store; available for iOS and Android:
Case Tracker for USCIS
What @Amadia said.
However, still haven't been able to check status on the mycasestatus website, the app or on the phone, only on MyUSCIS. How does one get transferred to a representative on the phone? I keep going through all the phone trees and haven't found an option to talk to someone.

Hi All,
Mid June filer to CSC, received a letter in March stating biometrics will be reused and nothing since then. When I try checking the status on the app and the old site, it states that the case number is incorrect, when I check the status on My USCIS, it states the same NOA we received in March about biometrics being reused.
After seeing so many people getting letters stating they are either being transferred or needing to show up for a new biometrics appointment, we've gotten a little worried that we missed something so checked all the same apps and sites, and same thing as above is happening. I called the 1-800 number on the NOA to check the status over the phone, and the automated system stated that that case number does not exist. Has anyone else had that issue?

We mailed my husband's packet on June 22 via USPS, they said it would be delivered by 6/25 but was actually delivered and signed for on Saturday, 6/23!
We are going through CSC so based on all ya'll who have gotten your NOA recently after sending in the beginning of the month, hoping to get our NOA within a couple weeks!
-
Hi all!,
We're sending out our ROC packet today, his green card expires on 9/9. Fingers crossed!
-
This morning around 9:30 I got a notification on the USCIS app that my husband's I-485 was "New Card is Being Produced" as of September 9. WHAT?! That's crazy, we never even received a notice of approval! Didn't receive any email or text notifications and when I tried to check online, the case status checker was still down for me. I finally got an email with the same notification around like 1 p.m., then at about 7:30 tonight we got an email and notification on the app that his case status changed again to "Post Decision Activity" and "Case was Approved."
Cant believe this happened! Only just under 2 months and no interview! My husband can't wait to start working, he's been getting really anxious.
Good luck to everyone! Hope you all get good news soon!
-
My husband's biometrics was last week in El Paso. We didn't try to do a walk-in since the appointment was only about a week after we got the letter. He was in and out in about 10-15 min and everyone was very friendly! He said there was only one other guy in there at the time.
Just waiting on any kind of news now-fingers crossed.
-
We received my husbands biometrics letter in the mail this past Saturday! Booked for August 3. However, still haven't received the paper receipt for the I-765 yet :/
-
We received our text/email notifications last week (July 13/14) for both AOS and the work visa and just received the AOS paper notification in the mail today. Things are moving along!
-
I-485 APPROVED!!!
We are so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!! No interviews, no RFE's, all the stress and annoyance was well worth it!
WOW!!!!
That's so wonderful! We just sent our AOS package and hoping for a speedy processing as well. Fingers crossed!
-
Hi y'all! We sent our AOS package finally this past Saturday. Package was delivered on Monday. Crossing our fingers for a speedy processing.
-
I do mean to Juarez in general, Im glad to hear that around the Consulate its ok. I booked a room right by there so we won't have to drive around. But we will have to drive from Juarez to San Luis Potosi, since the attorney suggest that we waited at our home town after the interview in case it took a while. We really can't afford to pay a room for 3 weeks..
Thanks for the response
Well if you're driving from SLP to CDJ and back, I'm sure you've heard stories more about the dangers driving on the highways in Mexico than about CDJ itself. Though there are toll roads that are heavily guarded by the army, and if you make the drive during the daytime y'all should be fine. I've driven back and forth through Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas without issues when taking the toll roads.
Good luck!
-
Do you mean driving your car TO Juarez or WITHIN Juarez? I've been in Juarez countless times in the last few years (I'm from El Paso) and both my family and I have driven around without any issues. About 8-10 years ago it was kinda bad, and even back in 2012 I didn't necessarily feel safe driving or going out at night. But the last few times, and especially when we were there for the interview, I never felt like I was in danger. Like Boiler said, the area around the Consulate is fairly safe—like any large city, there is a "sketchy" part of town so just stay out of that side haha. Stick to the Consulate area and you'll be fine
Good luck!
-
I've worked in Mexico for the past two and a half years and I still had to file taxes. As an American, if you make (I believe) over $10,000 a year, even in a different country, you still need to file taxes. If you have never filed, then you need to start working on filing the back taxes from how ever many years you've been working. Depending on your income and situation, you might not have to pay anything (I didn't because I didn't make enough when converted to USD) but you still need to be in the system. I've seen someone on here delayed because they hadn't filed their taxes for this year yet.
Additionally, showing them you have a good job in Venezuela doesn't necessarily matter. Foreign income doesn't count in regards to financial support for your fiance(e). Since you are not making USD, to the consulate it'll basically not matter how much you make so you'll need to find a co-sponsor that will be able to financially "support" the both of you. While you'll still need to fill out I-134, your co-sponsor will need to fill out one as well and be the one to prove financial stability with tax transcripts, paystubs, letter of employment and etc.
I would maybe find a tax accountant where you live, or do them online if you can, and start working on your taxes where you're at. You can also find a tax accountant in the US and communicate online (it's what I did). You don't have to go there in order to take care of this.
Good luck!

Hi y'all! Got an update (though a bit late).
My fiance had his interview last Wednesday.......and he was approved! It was such a relief and after being there, it's so funny to see how stressed and over prepared we were (if anyone can really be over prepared!)
A short little review about his interview. He had his medical on Monday, got his results later that day, his biometrics were done the week before where we live (Monterrey), and we just kinda hung out until the interview. His appointment was at 8:15 but we decided to head over there around 7:30 because I was too anxious to sit around. They let him right in the door and my mom and I waited for him at a plaza next door. He came out around 10 with that glorious green paper! While he spent about 3 hours in the consulate, his interview was only about 5 minutes long! They took the required papers and directed him to sit down. When he was finally called up, the officer (who looked like Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer supposedly—it's a sign!) took one look at the bulging binder I sent with him and went "WOAH WHATS ALL THAT!"
She asked him to raise his and and take the truth oath, all while he was shaking from the weight of the binder (oops haha), and she continued to ask just a few questions:
What's your fiancee's name?
How, when and where did you meet her?
What's her birthdate and where was she born?
Who is (name of cosponsor)?
Do you speak English?
Have you been to the US? (yes)
Have you overstayed a visa? (To this he of course said no, he hasn't. The funny part was that during our last trip to my hometown in March 2014, as we were driving back across the border, he forgot to give back the I94!!! I freaked out and sent him walking back across the border to give it back to which he was stopped by both Mexican and American border patrol agents. The Mexican agent was very hostile with him, telling him he couldn't go back to give his paper and all this stuff. Finally the American agent came over, asked what was the problem, my fiance explained he forgot to give the paper back and the American agent was like "oh no problem, I'll take it back, just remember the next time!" Well, the officer KNEW about this!! She was like "yeah, I saw you forgot to turn in your I94 and went back to give it to the border patrol agent." crazy that she knew that!)
She looked at a few of the pictures I sent in the I-129F packet and was like "aww" "who's this?" "awwww."
She did some typing on her computer and was like ok I'm going to approve your visa congratulations and good luck!
It is such a relief that this is over and we can finally go home together! We came back to Monterrey that same evening, he received his DHL number on Friday April 1 and he picked up his passport from DHL yesterday morning! We'll be moving back on April 22 WHAT A RELIEF!!!
Congratulations on all those who recently got approved as well I feel like this is kinda a graduation day.

Nice to hear about everyone's success in our forum. We are a great group of people.
2 weeks from today, I will be driving to the airport to pick up my love. The wait has been difficult, one of the hardest things i've had to do in my life. Everyday I am looking at the clock screaming, "Go faster!"
I am doing the same exact thing! My interview is still 2 weeks away, and those 2 weeks keep feeling like a month!

- How did he propose to you?

- Is he naturalized or born U.S. citizen?
- How many times has he been to Brazil?

Then he showed a couple of photos we had sent with our I-129F petition and asked the location of those pictures.

Just got the notification on the app saying "New Card is Being Produced." We haven't had any update since my husband had to redo his biometrics on July 3 and they changed the status.
