Today I got my FP done earlier than scheduled without any major issues. Here is my experience... The lady at the sign-in desk greeted me even before I reached her. Her pleasant demeanor took half the burden away!

She asked for the notice and upon checking said i was supposed to come on the actual FP date. I told her the reason for coming early but she said they are not doing walkins anymore and they stopped some 2years back!!

Then I told her about my call to USCIS where they said that I can go to the ASC and request for walkin..at that point she said she'll check with her supervisor and asked me to wait..there were like 10-15 other people waiting!

She spoke with her supervisor inbetween and after 20' or so she said come and complete the paperwork fast before the she comes back! I thanked her for the kind consideration and waited for my turn.

The whole thing was done in 10'. Before leaving I thanked the lady at the desk again and she even wished me for my trip!!

Upon coming back, we checked the mail and saw my husband's FP notice too which is scheduled for 8/17.....feeling relieved now!

We'll be out of country on the actual FP so we are going for early FP tommorow

So now my question is

Did anybody got thier biometric notices separately?

I understand that these two are different applications and must be processed separately but lot of VJ experiences tells us that the separation starts from interview stage!

Will they allow us to do the biometrics with our available NBC* and A# for my husband without having the actual notice?

You must have appointment letter. Come afternoon when they are not so busy. Prepare a good reason for doing that. In my case, I have a school exam on that day.

Not all ASC accept walk-in so don't be sad if they don't let you walk-in

For us we'll be out of country on the actual FP..

If you wanna do a walk-in I will say go very early or according to your time on the ASC letter. Make sure you have your letter and GC ready when you visit for the walk-in.

Hi Everyone,

As per my husband:

He arrived 30 mins before his interview and parked across the street (which was $12 for an all-day pass). He went through security and was directed to the interview floor. Upon arriving, he was asked for his interview letter and was told to take a seat and that he would be called in 10 to 15 mins. 15 mins later, he was called by one of the officers. When he arrived to the room, he was told to sit down and to hand over his passport, green card, social security and driver's license. Once the officer reviewed it, he told my husband to stand up and was sworn in. He proceeded by asking my husband questions 47 to 53 on the N400 application.

He then asked him the following questions:

Do you know what a terrorist attack is?

What is a criminal? (My husband answered "someone who doesn't follow the law like someone who sells drugs", the officer asked him to give him a simpler answer so he replied “someone who steals from a store.") I thought these 2 questions were a little odd because I never read about someone being asked these questions in any VJ experience, however they can ask you anything and these two questions are relevant to the application itself.

He then proceeded to ask him the following questions:

Who is the father of our Country?

Who is the Chief Justice of The United States?

How many voting members are in the House of Representative’s?

How many years do Representative’s serve?

In what month do you vote for the President?

Name a war in the 1900's

He made him read the following sentences:

Why do people come to America?

George Washington was the first president.

He told him to write:

The people come to America for freedom.

He then asked him:

To state his full name

Asked if he has ever changed his name

How many times has he been married?

How many times has your wife been married?

Were you in the military in another country?

He then congratulated him and told him he passed. After a few signatures, he shook his hand and told him wait outside until someone delivered instructions on his oath ceremony which is scheduled for this coming Monday.

Overall, it was a real breeze. He said the officer was very nice and professional. Good luck to everyone else!!

Exactly, check with your friend if they had an early FP or original FP...that might give some clues!

We are planning to do an early FP on 8/6 in Philadelphia as we'll be out of country on the actual FP date 8/14.

Also is it a good idea to let the officer know about the above missing travel dates at biometrics appointment?

I wonder what would be the best way to deal with it now as the mistake has already been done....

Just let the officer know at the interview that we made a mistake and give them the travel dates OR call/mail the USCIS right away and explain them the situation?

I hope this wont raise any red flags in the case!

Please respond if anybody has faced this situation already. What was the officer's response if you had disclosed at the interview?

I included my Canadian trip as well. it is considered as being out of the country so you have to mention that trip too.

Oh I didn't mean I don't have the details...... just that it is not on the passport!!

Did you search for some booking confirmation with dates in your e-mail? Maybe some pictures you took on the phone with dates? Maybe some credit card statement that had transactions made in Canada that would give clues to the dates? If you can't find anything, I would at least provide estimate dates but I wouldn't skip including the trip.

We are ready to send out our application today but i'm confused about this..

For the part which says 'Time spent outside USA' , we included all the trips except a Canadian trip as there is no record of it anywhere in the passport.

So should we list it or can we skip it.
