  1. Hej! Have you tried calling to ask if there is anything else you need to do and if you can schedule the interview? I know that probably seems really obvious but you're asking people to give you advice about your individual case and what may have happened to one person, may not happen to the next based on embassy. That's why I ask if you've called first. ?

  2. I paid the AOS and submitted the DS-261 but the IV fee wasn't available yet. Also, every time I told it to email me something, it wouldn't email. I was able to print of the AOS Barcode page, at least. I tested out my email and stuff from normal human emails, expedia, and ebay goes through. Only NVC stuff won't. I don't know what that means.

Also, on the USCIS site, I had it set to email notification ON and it only sent me a notification the first time they received the petition. I only found out it was approved when I checked myUSCIS on my own. It had said I was approved 3 days early from that day I was looking. So that's kinda stupid that these important emails aren't going through but I get to get spam from eBay and expedia 8 times a day.... -_-' haha

  3. Still getting runaround i called again today said im 3 days away from the deadline and she said i can put another inquiry in i said why bother they didnt answer the first one! She still insisted got my info and oh you filed an inquiry recently unfortunately we cant submit an inquiry until your past the deadline of the last one ( well no ######!). I made an appointment with my local immigration office which they recommended to do. The appointment is october 27th doubt anything will come out of it, but at this point doesnt hurt.

Argh! That is so ridiculous. It's actually really unprofessional of them, honestly. Actually, that is a good idea to have an appointment. I have no idea what they will do but it's the fact you're able to get up and go somewhere in person and maybe change something?!

Also, apparently NVC received my case today! They even gave me my case # and invoice #. They said I have to wait 28 days for them to send some "welcome packet". Now, we need to get you to that spot!!!! :D

  4. I got a message the next morning saying sorry cant expedite your case you dont fall under following requirements below for expedition. That officer said someone is working on my case and i should get a decision by the end of the month. I dont believe it at all because the last tier 2 officer i spoke to said that is not true no one is working on my case at all he can see that no one is working on it. Im getting smoke blown up my ### from everyone. Today is now 9 months since they received my case and i got a receipt number. They are in no rush at all, which is ok because im leaving anyway theyre not going to stop us from being with each other.

What is the latest with you guys?

Why didn't the guy who said no one is working on it, work on it himself? Lol or personally call someone himself?! That's so silly. Nothing is new for us, the 30 days is almost up.

  5. He then responded you plan on marrying her? I said yes id like to if i can ever get her here. He then asked for my email and gave me a reference number and said im gonna try and get this expedited. That an officer has been assigned to my case since sept and i should get a decision within 48 hrs

Hm he does sound like he might have a heart for asking such an odd question. Isn't it common sense you want to get married? Maybe he's making sure you're super serious/sure of what you want. Then decided he believed you and need expedite treatment Lol welllllllllllllll I guess we'll see what happens in 48 hrs. Hopefully he actually accomplishes something! That is crazy that some people get approved easily but you two are just sitting there with nothing. :(

Hopeful that something happens that is good in 48 hrs lol :D

Also, thank you. I hope things go well for me too >_< October 15 is about when I'm hoping they'll receive my case. NVC is saying 30-33 says and USCIS says it can take 90 days! It seems like 30 days for a lot of people though (from CSC, at least). I just want to see an update on MyUSCIS or for them to tell me the NVC received it! I'm considering calling right now lol

  6. Why do you have to cancel it? Maybe after you get married, you can eventually try again but for the IR-1! :) maybe try that thing people do and get a senator involved or something before giving up, just for one last try :D

I plan to live in my husband's country as long as I need to with him. But we're still going to do this visa stuff there. I put our foreign address so we will receive everything!

And things have been going good for us, but I didn't want to tell you here because I feel bad for you so I thought I'd celebrate silently >_< The petition was approved September 15. I seriously think it's the Texas Service Center screwing you over because the CSC has been fast. They're just slow about sending stuff to NVC. It's been 16 days so far and I gotta wait another 15 (HOPEFULLY) for them to hopefully receive it and then (HOPEFULLY) another 30 for a case number but I've seen that NVC is really slooooooow. If I was the president or someone important like a Queen, I'd tell them to hurry your case up!! :D even if I wasn't the Queen of the same country you're from, I'd still try.

Also....do you use "myUSCIS"? on their website?

  7. Hey hows it going I've been back in the states now for almost 2 weeks and still have heard nothing. Its now October the year is almost over and i filed this thing in January this is crazy! I spoke to uscis the other day and the tier 2 officer says to me someone has been assigned to my case you should here back by tmrw being september 30th. So tmrw comes and its around 6pm and still no email or nothing so i called back before closing hrs at 6 and asked for a tier 2 officer ( because they say they are the ones to talk to, but personally i think they are all full of ###### and are useless) i said to her well i still have heard nothing on my case i was told id hear today whats going on?? She says you should hear something either maybe later or possibly by Friday. I reply oh ok so in the meantime my case will continue to collect dust and be used as a fly swatter in the office.. She paused for a moment then said anything else i can do for you. I said nope thanks and hungup. We've already decided to move on to her country. That being so if i want to get married there and set things up there i have to eventually cancell this application. They said i could do so by mail. With it taking this long i dont imagine anything good coming out of it anyway when they get back to me about my case. I bought my return flight back to aruba already as well. How things on your end?

  8. Hopefully people would updated their timelines and you could see/subscribe to similar timelines feature and leverage from VJ already.

15 days is pretty optimistic for NVC, the fact that you've persisted and got through to them multiple times in that short of time is impressive albeit pretty aggressive. (particularly when they say to wait min 30 days ;)) My impression is lots happens with shuffling stuff at NVC and things dont get updated until retroactively. And the people manning the phones dont have the realtime stuff, they have the retroactive updates. Suggest relaxing instead of enabling the stress of continuing to hit them up early. just my $0.02 USD

It's actually not stressful for me to call so "aggressively" haha One day, my phone had a low battery and hung up the call while I was on hold and I called 5 times in a row and was able to get back on hold :D lol I can be a very determined person, especially if it involves my husband! I know they said 30 days but maybe something magical will happen and it will only take 29 days instead of 30...I won't know unless I call! BUT I've decided to give them MAYBE a week or two and then I'll call again. Then when 30 - 33 days hits, I will call more!

When I was waiting for my petition to be approved, I decided not to look at the USCIS mycase website so I wouldn't obsess about it. I expected 3-5 months but just decided I'd check it out and it had been approved 3 days earlier (only 22 day wait)! Now I'm just bored so I just call because I already put the AOS/IV packages together. It makes me feel like I'm not just sitting around doing nothing.?^_^ I noticed that some people are getting a notice on the USCIS mycase that the USCIS sent their petition to NVC so maybe that will happen for me. I have no idea how common it is though.

I'm sure people will update when they receive theirs but I didn't like the lack of information I was finding about people who got their NOA2/approvals at the same time as me. Compared to other months, August filers didn't seem as aggressive. All I found were people who didn't even have their NOA1 around the first week of August. That doesn't count to me since I sent mine on August 18th and USCIS set my NOA1 by email on August 24. Maybe they've gotten them by now and just didn't remember to update their timeline? Who knows! Lol I wanted to know if anyone had their stuff sent to NVC yet.

    Thanks for your 2 cents!

Our case was approved September 8th. NVC received it September 21st. We still don't have case #. I call every day and I am given different time frame each time I call, anywhere from 10 days to 42 days, 4 weeks ... from receiving the case from USCIS (21st).

Does anyone know how to expedite the NVC process once case # is assigned?

It probably will be 42 days like they said. So go with that amount of time. If you think a month, you will probably get disappointed or discouraged very fast. If it does happen quicker, that's great! Like Heo said, there could be a lot of "shuffling" at these places. According to Visajourney, the short wait time is 3-4 weeks from the time they receive it but I think that's during a good year. Unfortunately, 2015 is NOT that year lol

Also, I'd call them and ask how to expedite properly.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process <---- this is a really good, detailed page.

  9. My I-130 was approved on September 15, 2015.

I've called the NVC several times and each time they say they haven't received it yet and that it can take around 30 - 33 days. It's been 16 days so I know I still have time to wait but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had theirs received yet and/or received their case #. I'm looking for information from people who have similar timelines as I do and had your petition approved by CSC. I'm aware it's soon but I would appreciate the information. :)

    Thanks! :D

  10. lawyer...?

    but both..

I'm doing it without the lawyer. It's cheaper that way. I like to know everything I'm doing. Each situation/person is different but for me, I'd rather do most of the stuff on my own. I know where I'm at in the process and I don't want to have to deal with an attorney who isn't on the same page as me. Also, we aren't at the interview process yet but I'm planning on attending it with my husband. We have to do an extra step after the interview and I still will not be getting an attorney. I just read the USCIS form instructions and use sites like this to find information. I can do all of that for free! :) I hope that answered your question.
