  1. Based on my experience, The CO nor prescreener didnt ask for affidavit of support but CO did ask me what is my fiance's (now my hubby) work and my educational background. I offered him that affidavit of support but he refused and i was told to keep it for my AOS, i got my visa 4 days after my interview, though sometimes they say that we are approved there are instances that we might get our visa in 2 weeks or so coz of what they call "further review"...dont worry sistah im sure u will have your visa soon just try to keep in touch with the embassy. Goodluck!

    Hey yah!

Your post is very interesting.. Its very strange that they dont ask your affidavit of support, which they usually do.

Im not quite sure also if you're on AR,

when the w37 told you about the affidavit of support and saying that they gonna review your paper you should have hand it to him/her if you have it with you, but yeah embassy is sometimes dont pay attention anyway after they say their words., now the best thing you can do is make your fiance call the embassy, for follow up and ask why this things happen. The embassy will give you the right answer and im sure this will help to your worries.

My wifes had been to AR, coz they says lack of documents but then again.. they dont ask for any documents back.. they just send her visa after a month.. Really strange huh? Manila is soo busy thats why I guess they sometimes not pay attention a lot..

    Good Luck for this!

Ask him to call as many times he could, and keep posting.. this will help for the other in the future..

  4. Wife and I are decided to get her son now. He is under follow to join for K-2.

Does anyone here knows what to send to manila?

    Procedure?

    Need some advise and :help:

    Thank You!!!

He didnt come with her when she came on the K1? I thought that was the requirement for K2. I didnt know you could file a K2, wait to use it after the parent had immigrated. He should have come over when she did. it will be interesting to see the answer on this one, but i think she will have to wait until she is a US citizen to get him here as it will take years to get him here if she is only a green card holder. The US citizen cant petition the child, only the parent.

I think you're in for a long wait to get him here. 3 years til she gets US citizenship once you file for her AOS.

maybe im wrong on the K2 usage.

    Chris

Hope not that long! :( my wife misses her son so much.. I got into accident last year close to her interview and was not able to work. Cant afford to buy the ticket for both of them at that time. Her friend daughter was follow to join also with K-2, she had her interview last June and now the child is here in the US. She only told us that she and her husband send a fax to manila for the child appointment and she's not a US citizen yet. Its just that we dont have contact with her this time., so we dont know so much of the procedure..

Yes its very interesting.. to find out what will happen..

  5. Hi to VJ Administrators, Members and Viewers!

I have a very important concern which I am not sure if I will be doing correctly.

My interview schedule is set on September. On my appointment letter, my name and my son's name are listed as travelling applicants. My son is to follow only after he finished his high school.

    My question is:

1.) Will he still need to go with me for the interview?

2.) Will it be ok if I go for interview alone?

3.) Do I need to fill complete the DS forms for my son when he is not coming to interview with me?

    I appreciate opinions in here.

    Thank you all. God bless

My wife son is follow to join also K-2, He didnt go with her in the interview but we was given year to pick him up., or file another petition for him. Once visa is issued that is valid for 6 months only.

  6. We put it like that on ours, when married most want the maiden as the middle. Like the Philippines, they will move the maiden to the middle and put the married name last.

Do you think I will get in trouble if I use my maiden name as a middle name?

I really want to keep both names....

So can I file for AOS under my name/maiden name/married name

and then in other names used just put my maiden name as it appears on the passport?

I've done that already with my ID and SSN

    and it works fine...

    Please help me. :help:

  7. Yes it would be nice if she started to work soon, we dont need AP at this time and I heard it dont take as long as the EAD. So maybe no AP for now; only do the AOS and the EAD only at this time.

    Thanks for all your help!

So pay 395+180+170=745 now or 1010 on August 1 because if we dont file our EAD and AP now it will be 1010 anyway?

Sorry for so many questions

Until July 30. Yes it is

On August 1, it goes to $1010.00, but it includes all interim benefits.

After July 30 the EAD/I-765 will cost $340 and the AP/I-131 will cost $305. So if down the road if the green card is taking time and you need to apply for the EAD to be able to work that will be $395 + $340 = $635 without the benefit of AP. Additionally, since so many people are rushing for the July 30 deadline it may take longer to process for EAD. So if fiances are tight the real question is do you need your spouse to work as soon as possible? If so you may want to file for the EAD now.

This is the new USCIS fee page:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...edule052907.pdf

  8. I though the EAD is 180 more and the AP is 170 more, am i correct?

    that would be 395+180+170=745?

If you are filing before July 30th then yes the total is correct... and one check is good... if you are filing on or after July 30th the the fee is $1010.00 for the AOS it will include EAD and AP.. there is no option to not file for EAD or AP...

    Kez

    Kez,

Just to point out. AP and EAD costs are covered. You still have to file for them if you want to, you can choose to not file them.

Yes thanks for pointing that out.... I cant see why anyone would pay for them but not file for them but thats me.... the point being that after July 29th they are included in the AOS fee and the fee will not be reduced if you choose not to file for them.... where as at the moment you can oppt out of filing for them if you need to save money... this will no longer be an option...

    Kez

  9. We choose our son to "Join Follow", are we supposed to include him on the AOS 485

Part 3 Section B of I-485, should we check Yes or No for Applying with you? :help:

Is your son in the US now with visa in hand?

No he is not here, he will follow as soon. Sadly after the rates increases.

It would be nice if we both were able to fly back to get him and take in to the medical/interview.

But it looks like only my husband can go alone to get him.

  10. Now that was are married, now we need to get her SSN? Do we need to wait till we have our marriage certificate?

After she gets her SSN, i will add her to my Medical insurance also.

Thanks for your congrats on our marriage! We are relaxing here at home now, talking to the family back home.

    Good luck all!

  11. Our AR took 6 weeks for the so called nomal checks, we was not asked for anything. We just HAD to wait till they was done for our appoval. So dont worry it will be ok. We was also worried that it was something else, but all went well and now we are happly married  and enjoying our live together!

    Good luck!
