Yes I have
From My earlier Post
either your wife is dependent or no income she needs to do the I-864 and the sponsor should do the i-864A, have done this and got approved!
-
Sweet! Thanks!
Your welcome!!! Keep us posted!
-
Then do I need to fill out the I-134 with my information?
You have to fill out I-1864 and your mom has to fill out the 1-864A.
-
Back to my experience.. We got married (civil) 1 wk after I arrive in the States. Was not asked for social security. I apply the next week after.
-
I had help a friend that are in the same page as you.. We use the I-864A. She got approved!

Hi,
I am new to the forums and like most of you would like to bring my fiancee to the US to live with me. We've been together almost 3 years now and I would like to start the application process now.
At the moment she is in the dominican republic where my family is also from but I was born in the states. Since she is out of the U.S at the moment how would i got about getting her signature on the paper work , I am not sure if e-signature is an option or what. I have all the evidence except picture of us together but i do have all the receipts that show i have been supporting her and also the text and call logs from the past years.
Can anyone provide me some insight on this .
Thank you in advance.
>>> I had this situation when my husband started the whole process... Print the form, send it to her and mail it back to you. Now it is your option to expedite the mailing.

Visiting is the intention, she is not sure about moving here permanently. It must be impossible to do the tourist then as we don't have any property or she's not even working. The only thing that tie her up in the Philippines is her husband.
-
Wish to have my mom by christmas here in the States...
Qestion:
1. What do we need to obtain to have her here?
2. Do we really have to show ownership of property?
3. Do we need to have a large amount of money to show?
We wish to hear from someone that has experience in this case? step to step procedure is truly appreciated.

Hi,
My friend a US Citizen has married and they are wishing to file a marriage visa. She is from Mexico but is here on a tourist visa. What steps are needed now? They wish for her to remain here of course. So they only need to start with the I-130 correct? After approved they will do AOS with the medical?
Thanks

even bigger problem...i dont have the W-2's :-(
Your can't request them from his ex-employer or current? Your tax man didn't have a copy of them?
-
You have to wait until you receive your greencard, ead... They need to see proof that of your current immigration status
i applied for my SSN as soon a i arrived in the US, and after the marriage i wanted to change my name but they told me that i have to come back with proof of my status... i even brought my NOA 1 from my EAD/AOS but it wasnt sufficient.
You should have applied for you SSN before the marriage. Now you'll have to wait until you receive your Greencard/Work authorization
That is simply not true, not for K1s. See the document in my signature. They also should not have required you to show proof of immigration status for a simple name change. Obviously the people in your local SSA office don't know what they're doing.
You do need to wait at least 10 days after entry before applying so that they can confirm your immigration status. It is probably best to have applied for it before your marriage - but only because their own rules seem to confuse them.
But since you are now married, I'd go apply for it anyway, and print out the document in my signature. There is 'no reason you cannot have your SSN as a K1 after your marriage. The fact that they often times don't know (or don't understand) their own rules isn't your problem!
My wife got her SSN soon after our after Marrage, but they didn't even look at it. They only looked at her I-94 on her Passport. Sure you can't work till your AOS is done or you get your EAD.
When her son Arrived on a K-2 Visa to follow, we went to get his SSN also and all we heard from them again is: “No he needs a EAD to get his SSN”. I read you link, but I dont completely understand it.
2. Aliens Who Require an EAD from DHS Authorizing Employment
K-2
Child of K-1
The I-766 shows “A-6” under Category; the I-688B shows “(A)(6)” under Provision of Law.
Does this mean he can not get a SSN?
Thanks!

My wife's son got his K-2 interview approval Feb 6th! Although we didn’t get to go, my wife's cousin was the one who took him there.
After a few questions about our relationship, looking at photos all together, asking how my times i went there (4 times) and what is the status of our relationship (happily married with a baby girl on the way ) she was told that he was approved and then she went to pick up a green slip (if that is the approval slip)!

Look like we are on the same boat, we are also doing the K-2 Follow-to-join. We already got an interview date!
Case Number: MNL20067682##
Visa Classification: K1
St. Luke's Appointment Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2008 (7:00:00 AM)
Embassy Appointment Date: Wednesday, February 06, 2008 (7:30:00 AM)
We wanted to talk to you about how you did your forms, if you started them. We are running out of time to send them soon! We know the fees have changes.
We what to know if it the k2 that now needs to be on the forms. Like now her son needs to be named on it now correct?
We just have not done them in a year, now we get on the ball and do get it done fast!
Thanks Victor and Eldalin
Well I know I said we were done with immigration for 18 months, but I guess I lied. I meant to say Mirasol is done, but we just started the process to bring her daughter here on the K-2 Follow-to-join. So here we go again for another waiting period courtesy of the USEM. At least this one SHOULD be a little easier time. We can't say we didn't know it was coming. heheheFor those that have K-2's that are going to follow-to-join, the process was that I called the USEM and inquired as to how to request an interview for my step-daughter. They advised me to type a written letter notifying them that we are ready to proceed with the her K-2 and requesting an interview and medical appointment. It's not perfect, but it worked for me and was accepted by the USEM. Here is what I sent as a sample:

United States Embassy-Manila

Manila, Philippines 1000
Attention: Operations Unit
RE: Request for Interview on K-2 Visa (Follow-to-Join)
Case #MNL2007XXXXXX
Petitioner: (My Name)
Beneficiary of K-2 Visa: (Step-Child's Name), Birthdate XX/XX/XXXX
Dear Sir/Madam:
We are writing this letter to notify the US Embassy Manila that we are now ready to proceed with the processing of my step-daughter, (Her Name), K-2 visa under the “follow-to-join” provision of her mother’s K-1 visa.
Miss (step-daughter's name) and her mother, (My Wife's Name), were petitioned and approved by the USCIS on January 17, 2007. Her mother was issued a K-1 visa on May 8, 2007 by the US Embassy Manila and entered the United States of America on June 1, 2007. Her mother and I were then married as required under the K-1 visa on June 18, 2007 making Miss (step-daughter's name) the step-child of the petitioner.
We are now requesting that (step-daughter's name) be scheduled for her medical exam and visa interview with the Embassy. Her ability to utilize the K-2 visa “Follow-to-Join” provision will expire on May 7, 2008 (one year from her mother’s visa issuance). We would request that she be scheduled for an interview date in time to have her visa issued prior to that date should she be approved.
Please send all correspondence to Petitioner at the address previously on file, and to Beneficiary at the following address:
(Insert Name and Address where correspondence will be received on behalf of the child)
Respectfully Submitted,
(Signature above typed name)
Petitioner

Hope this helps for anyone in our same position. Not sure it needed to be that verbose, but I called today and they said they received the fax and would schedule an interview within 50-90 days. So off to the waiting game we go again.
Take care!

We understand the whole k-1/2 process, but the only question is:
We only wish to know what is need when we do the faxing of the interview request and is it possible to call them?
We have the request letter done. Anything else needed when doing the fax to them?
Thanks

Sorry to hear you choose to return to PI and not try to work it all out. I know we have talked many times. At least there is still love in your heart for your man. Waiting again for that day to come again must be hard for both of you. Sounds like you got a good man who will not easily give up on you. I would thank god for that and we will prey that you will be happy together.
Good luck and we prey for a fast approval!

hello fellow filipinas and vj members.
i had done abortion way back my college years. i know i have all the valid reasons why i did it. i will be having my medical and i worry if i have to tell them that i have done it before. if ever, would that be a ground for disapproval? i'm really worrying about this. i know abortion is not legal in our country and i even thought it is like taking illegal drugs that will put you on ban entering US. i really dont know what to do now. all i want is to be with the man i really love. please
to those who are willing to help please do reply. you can send me PM. thanks in advance.
I remember someone from here who disclosed about the abortion she recently had and the panel physician required her a psychological evaluation... PM Helen or "vsmtghdy" and consult this matter to her. Like everyone says, she's a doctor by profession and she knows everything more than anyone else here.
Good luck.

heya!
a friend of mine got her interview last feb. this year.. the advise is to not lie if the doctor will ask you something about abortion. she under go a psychological evaluation too and she pass with the medical and interview..
dont worry thats not a major thing for you to worried and i dont think that can be a reason of denial also..
good luck!!

I read somewhere that it can be requested to Saint Lukes to take back the passport on the last day of Medical cause there are some instances that Saint Lukes lost it and it did create a delay of the interview.....
Can someone share if they did this? cause I plan to do it also, I don't want my interview to be reset cause of carelessness of other people.....
I dont think that St. Lukes can make that kind of damage.. that can be a big problem to them & that will led them to not be trusted again. St. Lukes will stamp your passport once your medical is done, so never ask your passport back to you coz the US embassy will check that stamp always..

not necessarily living together... the head sponsor should always be the petitioner then the I-864A follows.
