I also need help on this exact question! Anyone help!
-
Because my joint sponsor was self employed last year but is not anymore. So will they look at the tax form because he was self employed or will the look at this years income??
-
Ok so since my tax income on my 2014 taxes is below the poverty guidelines, but my current individual income is above, I will be ok?
-
Anyone help! In 2014, my joint sponsor was self employed. He is currently not self employed anymore. So what will they look at??
-
To meet the poverty guidelines, will nvc look at current individual annual income(line 5 on affidavit of support) or most recent tax year total income? I meet the current individual annual income but not the most recent tax year.

I think you can combine incomes if the joint sponsor uses the income of a household member. Anyone know if this is correct??
-
He's a car salesman. So he has a salary plus commission.
-
I was thinking that a household member could file an i864a to make up the difference?
-
So the $19,000? Should he ask a household member to help him?

My husbands interview is on July 27. I need to send him an affidavit of support. Now I'm not making any income so I have a joint sponsor(brother) His total income(line 22 of 1040) is around $19,000. For a household of 3, it needs to be around $25,000. Now, he has a new job and his individual annual income(the amount he makes a year, not his total income on 1040) is about $85,000. Do they take into account his current income or do they only look at last years tax form to determine whether he meets the poverty guidelines? So will they look at the $19,000 from his tax return or will they look at his current annual income of $85,000 to determine if he is suitable?

Would it be ok to make two affidavits, one with just the joint sponsor and one with the joint sponsor and the household member, and send both to my husband to take to the interview?
-
And what if he works on commission? How would he get his employer to state how much he makes?
-
Another question: say I decided to go a different route because I am terrified of sending it in the way you said and it get denied. Could I add my other brother who is in the same household as the joint sponsor, to his income just to be on the safe side? I'm scared that they only look at the tax information and not his current income. Please help!

You sure that the $19,000 on his tax return wlnt affect anything? I don't want to get an RFE on the day of his interview. Well we sent in an i864 and got an RFE but they told us to send a new one with him.

Last year, he was self employed. So his 1040 shows a total income of $19,000 for last year. This year, he works as an employee. Not self employed anymore.

Hi I'm new to this site so I didn't really know where to post but I'm hoping you can help me! My husbands interview is on July 27. I need to send him an affidavit of support. The dreaded I-864! current individual annual income for joint sponsors
in National Visa Center (Dept of State)

As far as I know, it's what he expects to make this year. It's not a specific number on his tax forms. In my case, my joint sponsor was self employed on 2014, this year he is not. So what should he put as his current annual income?
So would it be the part that says total income or the part that says wages, salaries, etc?
