  1. Without infringing on those rights or changing the constitution, not much in this case. The guns were purchased legally in one of the strictest gun law states there is.

My personal opinion here. When it comes to protect my loved ones, no matter who the person holding the gun against us is (christian, muslim, black, white, man, woman, old, minor, illegal or legal immigrant) I will aim and shoot. Its better to stand and fight for those you love than to see them die because you didnt have a conceal and carry permit.
  2. 5 HOURS after my husband was supposed to have his interview, they finally called him in. He sat in the embassy all this time! By the time he called me, I was a nervous wreck and was googling home remedies for nausea caused by anxiety!

When he called, he told me he was kept waiting all that time and had just got his phone and was able to call.....then our call cut and it took 15 minutes to get back in touch! I was FREAKING OUT because I still didn't know the results!.......Finally I have learned that we are...........

    APPROVED!!!!!!!!

This is a miracle for us, on account of the FBI thing. When someone (which I'm sure was family members of mine!) filed a FALSE FBI report that my husband is a terrorist (they are against me marrying a Muslim), a full blown FBI and NSA investigation was launched. When I was interviewed by an FBI agent in late September, he told me not to expect my husband to be able to come to the USA for a very long time, because they would have to make quite sure the report was truly false before he could be approved. Since then I have been in such major PRAYER to break this stronghold that was quite effectively put up to keep us apart! GOD ANSWERS FERVENT PRAYER even in awful circumstances!

Congrats!! May The Lord bless your life together as he has so far!

  3. First... Congrats to all the ones who got interviews scheduled and case complete. The wait is almost over!!! :goofy:

Now, a quick update... my case on CEAC site changed from AP to Ready. My sons is still in AP. Dunno if this is good or not, I have read it is a good sign, but anyways... All I can do is pray and hope for the best. Mine is like this now.

    Ready

Immigrant Visa Case Number: GTM*********** GTM Case Creation Date: 07-Feb-2013 Status Updated Date: 16-Nov-2015
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html
  4. Yes you can, but you have to ask NVC to waive them until your interview. Keep in mind you also will need the court records (NVC does not require them but Embassy does). Remember the only way to get both is with your DPI. If you dont have one I suggest to get it asap. It may take up to 30 days to get the physical card but they will give you a receipt which can be used to get police and court records. At police office, they will ask you for the copy of your DPI or the receipt, the copy of the payment receipt from Banrural and a copy of your boleto de ornato ( get it from Banrural, the cheapeat one is around 16 q) Also, when you go to get both police and court records do not trust the people offering to get them for you, they may be fake. Better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck and keep us posted!

  5. Im sorry to hear about this. As many have stated, you will need a good and experienced immigration lawyer. I do not know how your relationship with The Lord is, but I advise you to pray for His help. He can help you overcome not just this immigration matter but also your current situation. You do not have to endure abuse because of love. Trust me. It will only get worse without counseling or psychological help for your ex. Good luck. I will be praying for you.

  6. Just an idea for calling the NVC. Google hangouts. I used to call from my tablet on my wifi. Never had a problem or a disconnected call. Just make sure you know in advance what to ask for and the details they ask you at the beginning. Some reps arent patient and will not be helpful if you start the call giving the wrong info.

Regarding to lenght of both types of visas well, it has been stated before. 1. Its a choice you have to make at the early stages of the relationship in most cases. We hired a lawyer and she explained to us both types, we decided to go CR1 because of the pros. 2. Every case is different. Do not compare yours to others because this is just nonsense. Different people, different stories, different backgrounds. And it steals your joy. Hang in there. This shall pass, it will not be over quickly, you will not enjoy it, but it will make you value every single minute you can share together and strenghten the relationship.

  7. I'm sorry they're making you wait. I hope it's done quickly! Thanks. All I can do is pray we got approved and this is just a temporary set back.

Did your p4 letter ask for original divorce documents?

Our letter didn't list that, so I didn't mail my originals to my husband to add to his interview package. Now I'm worried. Actually, no. It appeared as sent by NVC, but CO asked for them, an original court copy for each file. I also got a letter to read with specific instructions from our embassy in Guatemala, and in there it did state all applicants being claimed by a step father or step mother should provide one, but as it showed as sent by NVC I did not worry and thought to take the extra copy just in case one was needed. I had read somewhere here in VJ how you must be prepared with extra copies just in case. I thought one would suffice, turns out it did not. I had a copy at home hubby sent over two years ago, I hope it will be enough, as it has the original copy stamp on it. I would say send it to him if you still have the time.

  8. ok guys. Interview was on Tuesday. CO was nice and polite. She conducted the interview in English, after asking us if our preference was English or Spanish. Most of the questions were asked to my husband (mostly about his ex, his divorce, and the exact date she moved out of his house) then we were given a yellow 221g for both cases. Mine says Section 221 g. prohibits the issuance of a visa to any person whose documents do not fulfill law requirements. AP. We will contact you. And my son's says Section 221 g. prohibits the issuance of a visa to any person whose documents do not fulfill law requirements documents needed, original divorce certificate from petitioner.

Truth to be told, we only had one original copy of his divorce decree. Beginners mistake, I acknowledge.

Fortunately, we had an original copy of it at home and we sent it wednesday, we were told it was gonna be delivered to Embassy today.

Still... I am worried. CO never said approved, although she did not say denied. She just said, we will contact you through email.
