  2. Hey DWHEELS....long time. Although I still follow, I aam now a silent observer. I hope that you are you're husband are enjoying being reunited.

Anyways, I wanted to tell you that I figured out a way to track the greencard..once you are to that point. The instructions were helpful but after the point of payment it got a little muddled for me. With the assistance and explanation of another VJ'er this is how it works.

Once you pay the fee, you will be issued a invoice number. (Example - IOE*******). Print a copy of that and retain it for your records. After POE, log into USCIS and begin checking, using the IOE** number under case status. If the card is not yet in production you will receive an error message; something to the effect of incorrect receipt number. Don't get dismayed...keep trying. Once you get the message that the card is in production, you can then add it to your "my cases" and sign up for email and text notifications--similar to the way done with USCIS receipt number tracking.

***Until the card is in production, you will get the error message

Hope this makes sense and someone finds it useful.

My husband POE was 3 Aug 16. The greencard fee was paid same day (as he was mid-air).

Checked the case status Monday (9/12), and saw that it was in production. I added the case to "my cases". Later that evening I received and update that the greencard had been mailed.

Finally, I want to say again to you and everyone that I have become acquainted with here...thank you so much for this site, for the support and the advice. We managed to get through this process in a lighting fast pace with only 1 hiccup...and that occurred early on and prior to me becoming a member. Once we rec'd the RFE at the USCIS stage, I became a member and with the reading the information here and guidance from you and others...we had not 1 issue after.

    Thank you!!!

  4. Welcome MsCompE. I am from the Grayson area and shop at the Duluth farmer's market weekly with my husband. Was there over the weekend. Love there Jamaican section. It's like a home away from home going there?

Which Duluth Farmers market are you referring? I've taken my husband to a couple in the area and he doesn't seem to be impressed but then again....he shows little expression towards anything.

  5. I paid the Greencard fee right before POE (hours before actually) and printed out the confirmation with the IOE#. When I log in to check the status, there are no records showing nor do I see anywhere to input the number to check the status. I'm aware that I can call USCIS but I've read and been told that they are estimating 120 days before it should arrive. Just wondering if anyone can give insight on using the website to check the status so I don't have to call.

Any assistance would be most helpful.

  6. Congrats to all the people getting interviews! Did any more JA peeps get interviews for September? It's the middle of Aug, guess they'll start scheduling again during the last week? Is that how it works? Was wishfully thinking we would get lucky and get an interview date. I had an awesome visit with my husband and family this past week. So now we're back to the waiting game. Hoping for October interview??. Keep your stories coming! They keep me motivated and lifted!!!!

Thank you for the kind words in response to my earlier post. The only way to really get through this is with a good sense of humor and laughter. I am glad to hear that you were able to see your hubby recently--it breaks the wait up tremendously.

In response to your questions above..they (most, if not all, embassies), begin scheduling towards the last few days of the month into the first week or so of the following month. I would only be making an assumption but I believe that they will start scheduling around the 29th of the August for October interview dates.

Best wishes to you and yours on your journey.

Hey Dwheels!!! Been a long minute since I have logged in a posted anything. Busy..busy... However, I just wanted to let you and all others know (specifically those who have significant others arriving CONUS from Jamaica).

A little background...we were approved on 5/25/16. My husband arrived and did POE in ATL on 8/3/16. Process through immigration and CBP was fairly quick. He stated that "they" didn't ask too many questions. When I say they, he stated that he was being interviewed by a gentleman and a female officer walked up and looked at him and stated..."who married you" (jokingly). My husband, being the person that he is, simply replied..."someone who loves me very much." After that, the only issue was his checked bag. He waited for over an hour for the bag to come off the carrousel. After waiting so long the officer told him not to wait any longer to go to baggage claims to file a report. Once he finally came out, we headed over to the baggage claims office to file the report and low and behold...I walked right up on the bag. Mystery solved. I assume because he went straight to immigration and they bag was sitting there waiting, the removed it. Nonetheless, everything worked out and POE was smoothly.

On Saturday, 8/13/16--approximately 10 days after POE, his SSN card arrived and we are now just awaiting the greencard arrival. The only compliant thus far during this whole process from him is the HEAT in GA...we had 1 minor delay (RFE) early on during this process but we reacted swiftly and was able to get back on track. It was at that point that I decided to become a member, and no longer a stalker of the site, and with your guidance, along with several others (too many to name individually), it was smooth sailing from that point on. I know that this journey is not over but before we reach the next leg of it, I would sincerely like to thank you and all those who have assisted and encouraged us along the way. Through your site and process insight we are finally united!

Big-up to all my JA family too (L)(L) (L) (L) who kept this so very entertaining when the days were dragging like molasses on a cold winter day.:rofl: (you know who you are--if you happen to read this). Love you more than a slice of cake (well in my case, Garrett's popcorn)!!!!

**Oh, wait...1 special person--Frankjvr (Mr. FBI himself) xoxoxoxoxo

  8. Question regarding this...if you've yet to file, is it advisable to go ahead and do the DNA to have it on file or wait and have the Embassy request it?

Also, I read that they only accept DNA testing from a list of places...none which are in country, unfortunately.

  9. Unfortunately, traffic is going to e best of you are trying to get to the downtown area and there is no public transportation out this way. The option is to see if there is a park and ride (know there is one at Hebron Church), telecommute, or carpool.

Try loading resumes to indeed to see if you get any hits. Not sure what type of work any one is looking for but if you can deal with school age children and an income is a must, the school system is always looking for bus drivers and they pay during training.

Years ago, when I moved here...I would wait until traffic would die down a little do strapped with pin and paper and ride around a look at local businesses in the area...come back home and Google the company and see what they had to offer job wise.

Off the top of my head...I one that NCR (is in Gwinnett county) FiServ (think thats more towards Alpharetta), Macy's Technology is out this way (but it goes by some other name I think). There are a couple of Insurance company's out this way as well...

Also, try temp agencies...just to get a foot in the door.

  10. hey guys where did you check to see if your passport was ready for pickup, on the dhl site the status is "Appointment" but on CEAC it says "Issued"

If the CAEC site is staying issued...then when you log into the DHL site there should be a tracking number of its been picked up. If it has not been, the tracking number will not show. You click the tracking number and it provides the history of the package.

  11. No and senator's office seem to be a joke too. So I just have to sit back and wait. I am wondering if it because came here on a K1 and my marriage didn't last the 2 years? Whatever it is I have no way of finding out. They say a visa takes between 2 to 6 weeks so I'm going to chill for now.

I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it...but I don't know that.

  12. Great! Getting from all sides.

Did you check today to see if the status changed or has there been any response to your inquires?

Hey guys, did my interview today. Got approved! Only thing they asked me for tho was my originals. no copies, no supporting evidence, just the originals. the questions the consular officer asked me were, how long have I known my wife, what's her job, have I ever been to the US, and what date did she enter the US. The worst part was the wait, I got there at 7:30 and left like 11. It seems the numbers they gave you make no difference, as people that came in after me were called before me. This one woman was sent from the front of the line at the entrance for having on make-up and had to rejoin way at the back, she protested and got talked down by one of the securities, more like a threat. they don't play over there, word of advice, be mannerly and humble yourself.

    Congrats

  13. Yes we have DHL tracking number because when she pay to send her passport from Cayman they gave tracking number for both going and coming back

Yes...but remember when you got the interview date you had to register for the DHL site...it was like a ...avis...something hyperlink. I'm sure I can find it somewhere but can't recall it off the rope of my head. Anyways, that's the link I am referring to. If you registered for that, you had to input your DD260 confirmation number, her passport number and the location of where you'd like to pickup the visa. Now, this might have changed since your interview date was after ours because in the short weeks between ours and a few others the process changed for the medical results being picked up...but I digress. Anyways, if you registered for that and if what 'dkd' is staying affected you...you can log into that link and it will have a tracking number for your Visa package. You can click the link and it will tell you exactly where the visa package is...if that's the case. Does this make sense?
