  1. I was interning in Fort Lauderdale during 2004 and had a few close calls that year with hurricane paths.

For the 1st hurricane (think it was charlie) I was a bit scared as it was the first time i'd lived in FL during a hurricane. Plus my boss made me work till the day before it hit (I also had no car). So i had no choice but stay.

It ended up going way to the north of us so no problems.

After that we got hit by Francis (It was the size of Texas). We got tropical storm force winds and no power for 24+ hours - but was nothing bad.

Now when a hurricane is mentioned i think Hurricane + beer = hurricane party!

Finally that year we had hurricane Jeannie - tropical storm force winds again for us - went out side for some of it.

The main danger from hurricanes is flooding plus downed powerlines.

The best thing to do is keep supplies ready and follow all information given.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov is the Hurricane centers oficial site - best place for raw data.

Also check out outlooks abovestorm information for possible formation of tropical waves.

Another decent site is www.storm.herald.com - which is the same info as NHC but with fancy graphics plus computer model paths.

The computer model paths vary wildy so don't use them for planning.

  2. Hi,

As ong as she has all the vacinations in her home country and complete DS-3025 you should just need the I-693A (Supplied by the Doctor).

I had it done last week in FL - $35 was the cost but i believe it depends on the doctor (quotes usually between $30-$60). NB - any additional shots needed will obviously cost extra

If you need to find a doctor you can use the USCIS site which has a designated Docotr locator.

  3. Hi all,

I hope some one can help me with this question......

I have just got married a couple of weeks ago in the US (where i am now). I will be filling for my AOS in the next couple of weeks.

However, I will be moving house as we have been living with my fianceee(now wife's) parents.

We are moving in the next week or so as she has school - we are renting for a year.

Will I need to file an AR-11 change of address form or is it better to use my wife's parents address when I file for AOS.

NB: My new US bank account / utility bills will use the rented address. - think i will need these as proof of marrage.

If I do need to file AR-11 can I just do this when I file for AOS?

Hope some one can help me with this one as I can't find much about it.

Also just wanted to say that this site is AWESOME!!!! - No where else on the WWW comes close for VISA info!

  4. Hi,

My application was also transfered to California. Good news is it didn't slow anything down at all and may have even speeded things up.

I did have a RFE which slowed things down however, but after we gave them that it all started to spped up real quick. Always remember that the USCIS is the slowest part (mine took about 4-5 months). The NVC and Embassy is under 2 months I have my interview on the 13th June!!!

Best thing to do is wait it out and try not to stress, if you get a RFE then give them more than they need.

  5. Hello.

I finally got my interview date!!!!! (13th June in london) - which is awesome.

My fiancee is still in college so she has no income. However her parents have filled in the I-134 and have fed -ex'd it to me.

I was wondering however if my fianceee has to fill out the form as well or if her parents can be my sole sponsor.

I have read posts with conflicting information so i'm confused.

Also I know for the status change you have to have the I-864 I think - does that need co-sponsoring?

Thanks again for the information everyone - this site is AWESOME :D:D:D

  6. Congratulations!!!! ticket choice is up to you!!!:dance::dance:

    Adele

I did the opposite on a J1 VISA a couple of years ago. I was out for 18 months and had a return ticket for 3 months later.

It is totally fine - if they mention it just tell them that the ticket you got was the cheapest price.

As most people have been saying a return ticket usually ends up cheaper as you can get last min charter flights!

  7. This is exactly what I asked about, thank you so much for your help, both of you:)))

    Ana

I'm in the same situation My fiancee's dad is co-sponsoring me. He has sent the I-865 form does he need to send the I 135 form instead??

This is for the London Embassy.

I am putting packet three together now to send out so I guess I have a few weeks to recieve it.

If anyone knows which one I need please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

P.S. There is a short wait for medicals at the moment - booked mine today in London and they had one for next week!

  8. Hello,

    First post so here goes.

I just recieved my packet 3 today!

I'm hoping to have it turned round by tomorrow (I have police record etc.)

Looking on the London Embassy site they have the DS 156 available online.

It says that the online version should be used as the paper version can slow down the application process.

As this is not mentioned in packet 3 should I just ignore it and send the originals or should I do the online version and hope it helps speed up the process?

    Regards
