Based on past experience of what I've seen on this site, this means they have passed it on to the local office for an interview. Some applications are randomly choosen for quality control or if you filed with a waiver request. It's not neccessarily a bad thing but prepare your evidences to take with you in case of interview.
Did you file with a waiver request? (you dont have to answer if you dont want to, I'm only askin since I did so and I havent heard anything from them yet...although I filed in August 08)
Goodluck!
opps, could also be your notice of transfer to the CSC office...which is not a big deal.
No I didn't have a waiver request. My case is pretty straight forward I beleive (No unusual circumstances). Although I did move house in December and filed a change of address.

So it looks like its either an upcoming interview or CSC have started work on the case.
I'm not sure which it is but these were my best guesses also.
I'll make sure I update this thread when I find out what it meant.
If anyone else has any ideas/info/experience let me know.

Hi,
I've not been active for a long time at this site as i've just been waiting on my case to remove conditions.
I filed at the end of october and got transfered to CSC on 10th March.
Today I got the following message:
The CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.
Has anyone had a similar notification. If so is it good/bad or impossible to know.
Thanks in advance - sorry my post volume is so low.

USCIS Clarifies Language in Form I-751 Transfer Notices Sent to Petitioners
Current Notice May Be Interpreted as USCIS Granting Approval for Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence
WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today it will revise language in transfer notices received by petitioners who filed a Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. The current notice includes language that may cause petitioners to believe their cases have been approved.
USCIS announced last month that it is revising filing instructions for Form I-751 to require filing at the California or Vermont Service Centers. Until the form instructions are revised, any petitions filed with the Nebraska and Texas Service Centers will be transferred to California and Vermont, respectively. When USCIS enters data at one service center and later transfers the case to another, a Transfer Notice is sent to the petitioner advising him or her that the case has been transferred for adjudication and that they will be notified of the final decision.
The current transfer notice currently contains the following phrase: “CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89).” That statement means that the biometric portion of the case has been successfully transferred; it does not, however, mean that the petition itself was approved.
While USCIS is in the process of changing the language in the transfer notice, a substantial number of notices have already been mailed containing the potentially confusing statement. Any petitioner who may have received such a notice should be aware of the following:
At the time the I-751 was transferred, USCIS had not yet adjudicated (approved or denied) the case;
USCIS transferred the case to the Service Center listed on the notice for adjudication; and
If the petitioner has not received additional information from the California or Vermont Service Centers, USCIS has not yet adjudicated the case.
Petitioners who have a specific question related to their I-751 petition should contact the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 for more information.

I'm just about to start this whole process myself, so glad I came back here or i'd have filed with Texas!

The chest E-Ray is all that is needed in the UK.
As long as it comes back clear then all will be fine.
The whole medical takes a couple of hours max and that includes all the waiting times and any needed shots.

Being from the UK my degree B.S is equal to a 4 year BS degree here.
I have experience in the US as i did an internship here.
Just make sure you have a U.S. style resume and clearly explain your qualifications in the interview.
When i applied for my internship I sent my resume to about 10 different companies .
Didn't here back so I sent another 10 companies my resume (these were all internships which had to be approved by US goverment for J1 VISA - via Council exchanges).
After a few weeks with nothing I decided to send follow up letters. I then recieved a LOT of responses (about 20-30% positive).
I also recommend using the internet as your main search tool and also the websites of any big companies in your town.

Investment Visas need $ 1 Million or 500K in government designated areas with low employment.
You would be better looking at a commonwealth country for VISA's - it is hard to come to the states without family or business.
I did an exchange through my university originaly. (Where I met my future wife for the first time)
I also did an internship VIA council exchanges ( www.ciee.org ) - not sure what the age limit on this is now but it used to be 45 max.
You could go back to college and attend a US school - Depends how much $$$ you have to burn.
You could also buy property and just visit regulary as a tourist.
-
I have worked as an intern AND been a student in the US had a couple of funny conversations.
One business teacher at the US university said that the English economy was strong due to joining the Euro..... noone dared to speak up and correct her.
Another occasion at a party there were a few English and a couple of our friends were from Northern Ireland (We were all put in the same residence).
Well some sorority girl came up to one of the Irish girls and said that her English was really good considering it was her second language...and no she wasn't joking.
The other thing I have got is being mistaken for Australian - TWICE!!! (I have a general northern accent).
However at work the fact you are from a diferent country is usually a huge plus and just addes to the office banter.
-
Hello,
Sorry to be a pain but can you tell us your current status?
Are you currently legal in the USA?
What VISA did you enter on (K-1/K3)?
Sorry if it seems harsh but depending on your current status the advise will differ drastically.
Maybe i'm being dumb and missing something but the wording doesn't imply you have a VISA at the moment.
-
I can't speak exactly for your case as i'm from the UK and we have Visa waiver program for 90 day tourist VISA's.
However many embassys including London take a couple of days to put the VISA in the passport.
In London they courier it back to you when it is done.
I wouldn't worry about this too much as tourist VISA's are usually less rigerous than other types.

When I went for my interview for K-1 at UK embassy.
I had my then fiancee as the main sponsor (she was a student).
I had her dad as the co-sponser.
At the interview they were only interested in the one with the money (dad).
So he was the "sponsor".
It can't help to take both - but in quite a few cases (all?) as Yodark said you sometimes don't have to have cosponsor.
NOTE that for the AOS the petitioner has to be the main sponsor I believe, even if they have no finances and then you will need a cosponsor.

To find a surgeon go to the following on the USCIS page:
Home > Services & Benefits > Permanent Resident (Green Card) > Civil Surgeons
Not sure i can link directly as the website is dynamic now.
Mine cost about $30 in FL.
-
I didn't put my old social down on the paper work also as i didn't know it was still valid. I had it when I was on a J1 VISA.
There was no problem with this (Maybe its common).
When I went to get a new SSN they put in my alien number and then said I already had a number assigned (My old SSN).
I then used this for AOS without any problems.

I did similar to people here sugest.
There is no "right way" to assemble the package.
However here are a few pointers:
Obviously remember to include everything
Order everything logicaly.
Include a good amount of supporting evidence - too much is ALWAYS better than too little.
Include a contents list.
Make copies of the ENTIRE package - including evidence sent. (Keep these well organised in a seperate folder.)
Include a simple cover letter stating your name and what you are applying for.
When you send the package - remember to send it recorded delivery or the equivelent so you can track it and be sure it has arrived. NOA1 takes around 2 weeks average but can be more or less.
Finally the hardest point.....prepare to be patient.

Practice being patient

Just to reiterate what an above poster has said YOU DONT NEED A POLICE CERTIFICATE FOR LIVING IN THE USA.
I was worried about this as well as i'd spend 18 months in the USA - in 2 diferent counties.
It is buried in the wording that the certificate for USA is not needed.
Make sure you get your police record from UK ASAP as it takes about 28 days.
Also ensure you have a long form birth certificate as they don't take the short form.
(Long form has your parents names etc on it).
I had my medical interview before my VISA interview.
When I called there was only a short wait. I think it is good to get the medical out of the way.
Good Luck

It usually takes about 2 weeks for NOA 1. Sometimes you will see the check cash first.
If I was you i'd wait a couple of weeks and try not to think about it too much.
I found that the start of the K1 process was the slowest (Took around 5 months - with one RFE)
However as soon as my Packet 2 came everything went REALLY fast.
Good luck.

It seems like it's broken if you wanna log in to check the status of your case. I tried and got a weird message:
500 Servlet Exception
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot find bean under name user_type_cd
So I guess they are still working on that. On the new site, the letters are soooo small to read, wow....
:energetic:
i experience the same thing always, so i just consider it as a usual thing to happen everytime i open the site...i blame it to my DSL line so now, it's not really my line's fault hehe
I just checked the status page myslef. The error is on the USCIS side - sems like something wrong with the scripting not finding something - i'm sure they will have it back up next week.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything went really quiet for a while but when you least expect it things happen. It was on the 31st for the first time in ages and today it is approved!!!
I'd just like to thank everyone in this place for answering all my random questions - I'd have been so on edge if it wasn't for this place.

The rate seems to vary even by doctors in the same area.
Califonia and NY seem to be the most expensive from what people have said.
Usually it is around $30-$60.
Just make sure you state what you are after and tell them it is only the VACINATION SUPPLIMENT you need.
When I called it took me a while to explain this (I think they get a lot more full medicals than suppliments at most places)
The form takes about 5-10 mins to transfer and they usually seal it in an envolope (mine was anyway).

staphros,
Name me an IV post that requires I-864 and will not accept I-134 for a K visa.
Yodrak
...Also the I-134 is usually for consulates - but check out their website (some use I-864)
....
Just said that incase there is a embassy still using I-134.
I have only used UK embassy - but at the time I checked it USCIS was mentioning both.
However the UK embassy site said I-134.
Guess it is probably the norm now.
-
Just thought i'd add that the new I-864 does NOT need noterizing.
It was updated a few weeks ago and is slightly different in this respect.
Also the I-134 is usually for consulates - but check out their website (some use I-864)
I-864 is ALWAYS used for the AOS.

I just posted this in another post - but i'll post it again here:

Hi,
We got an RFE for this.
We originally sent copys of bank statements proving we lived in the same town(to show we met) as well as phone records.
At the RFE we sent the following:
- Photos of us together (Christmas).
- Plane ticket.
- Hotel accomodation.
- Letter from mutual friend.
I think they are mainly looking for proof of you both together so i'd recommend a letter from a friend who knows you both together and can acknowledge your positive relationship.
Also any plane tickets and photos are vital.
Phone records didn't seem to be what they were after in my case, but if you have them send them as well.
Its better to provide to much information as opposed to to little.
Also if you are sending plane tickets etc make sure you take copies of them (as you should do for everything in your package)
Goodluck

To get your SSN you need to go to your local SSN office.
Take Passport.
I-94
VISA
If the I-94 is out or nearly out of date (2 weeks) you may have to wait - i'm sure some one can tell you what to do in this case.
The SSN is totally seperate from the EAD.
You must prove you are eligable or will be eligable for work to get a social.
Go to www.ssn.gov for more on social security
