Thank you everyone for your kind words and compassion. It will take a while to heal but I like to look on the bright side. I avoided a disaster if I was to marry her. The embassy has responded to my email and they gave me instructions on how to start the process to take action against her. Not sure anything will come of it but it should prevent her from scamming again. This is a great forum for information. Thank again everyone.

Great advice. I was very vulnerable at that time because of my divorce and so I disregarded all the red flags. I'll spot them a mile away next time.

In my opinion it may not matter what you say to USCIS proving the site is not IMB. I told them my dating site cebuanas.com was not an IMB and that it was a free internet dating site and they still sent an RFE saying it appears cebuanas.com is an IMB and that I need to send further proof. I think they are sending RFE to anyone that met on-line even if you tell them it's not an IMB and that the site is free. It's very frustrating they don't inform applicants to prove the site is not IMB. They are setting up everyone to fail the first go around.

That's good news. Hope it's an easy RFE.As for me, we found out BPI won't accept payment for your visa application without your passport. We could still pay it online with her old passport number but she would have to have a bank account or paypal account. I wonder if I could pay for her here in the states?

Well, got woken up 4 am with some tragic news. My fiance was on the way to BPI bank to pay the visa application and her jeepney was hijacked. She has a small wound but one of the passengers was shot and killed. I think it was a set up from the Xoom office where I wired her money. Since she also needed money for her K-2 plus medical she had $1000 on her. Even if she took a taxi they probably would have hijacked that too. I am thankful she was not seriously hurt. The worst part is they took her cell phone and IDs. Money can be wired easily but getting a new passport will take a month at least. That is the real tragedy...she will have to wait much longer for us to reunite again. She has gone through so many hardships the last few months with her ill mother and losing her baby that it is a wonder she has not given up. I think our love for each other is what's holding her together. I'm thankful for my VJ friends that support and help me through this difficult journey.

She is from Cebu and lives near Lapu Lapu. Aileen is in the hospital now recovering from the wound and trauma. Luckily her sister had my phone number and was able to relay the news. Where are you from?

Has anyone run into the logistical nightmare of getting the birth certificate from the NSO in the Philippines on a k-1 visa? You have to go to the Local Civil Registry Office first and show 3 forms of ID and then take that form to the NSO to get your birth certificate on security paper. My fiances drivers licence expires this month so they wouldn't process her request even though it's still current. Now it's going to cost a hundred dollars to get the 3rd ID. Just a simple requirement of showing your birth certificate will cost you hundreds of dollars when you also add a k-2 visa. Looks like that government has figured out a way to take advantage of the visa requirements and milk as much money from applicant as possible.
