  1. Hello all,

This is my first post, but I have gotten so much helpful information from reading this thread - thank you to all of you!

I have a question on fee payment for the K1 visa. I know that this has been asked in other posts, but I'm trying to get the most up-to-date information. My fiance is Ugandan, and we would like to schedule his interview in Nairobi. He just submitted the DS-160. How can we pay the fee if we don't know anyone in Kenya to assist us with Mpesa? He was going to use Mpesa in Kampala, but I read somewhere that it has been blocked in Uganda?

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi. I paid for my interview on 2nd November and was able to schedule for an interview within 5 hours. I don't know about Mpesa being blocked in Uganda because that's what I used right here in Kampala. You should try going to an Mpesa agent and confirm.just be sure to use one who will give you a receipt after payment.

  2. Hi everyone.I Need your help.I received packet 3 from the Embassy in Nairobi Kenya and part of it says that the I-129F is valid for 4 months from the initial date of approval from USCIS. It further says that we should submit our K1 visa application (Ds 160 form) before or on 2nd January 2016.

My question is: Does this mean that we must also schedule for an interview date before 2nd January2016?

    Thank you.

  3. Hullo everyone!

I am joining this post because my consulate is in Nairobi and I am from Uganda.I filed in early June 2015 and still waiting for a response for the NOA2.Most of the people who filed after the first week of June have been responded to much as they are from European countries. I am asking,do you think that because as the beneficiary I am from Uganda and the system is slow or if they are critical about any fraud this makes my case to take longer than others?

The last I checked the California Service Center is now working on early July filers!

I am at 54 days today.

    Thank you

  4. hi guys! i learned earlier today that our case got approved. i hope all of you here will be getting the noa2 soonest! GOd bless! and keep your faith burning still.

    here's our timeline:

packet received: June 9, 2015 (according to our noa1 hard copy and the e-mail from USCIS)

    noticed date: June 11, 2015

    Noa1 Hard Copy received : June 15, 2015

    Case Approved: July 14, 2015

that's it guys! i am praying for everyone's fast approval.

    GOD BLESS us all!

    Congrats!!! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Quick question. ..do I have to create an account on the uscis website or just checking the status with the receipt number is good enough ? What's the difference? Thanks =)=)=)

From what vj members have experienced, without an account they have difficulty knowing the status of their cases getting errors for instance.prior to my NOA1 when I read this I created an account on the USCIS website so I dont know what its like if you just check status without an account.personally I would advise you create an account just to clear out any hiccups on the way as you log in for an update on your case.oh and one difference I think there is, is that with an account you can know when your case was last updated although this can remain the same for weeks till you are approved or with an RFE on the way
  6. Okay, here it is... we received hard copy NOA1 on 06/23/15.

    It says:

    Received date:06/12/15

    Notice date: 06/16/15

As I asked earlier, which one is the NOA1 date?

When you look at the upper right side of your notice, you will see the 'NOTICE DATE' and that is your NOA1 date.

If you like, that's the date you fill in on your VJ time line as your NOA1 and then you will get an estimated time for when to expect your NOA2.

  7. Hullo June filers!!!

I am so happy I eventually found this thread. It is comforting to be with people going through the same process. My fiance is from ND and got our hard copy NOA1 in the mail saying CSC and the starting date is 8th June 2015. We are so excited to get the NOA2,there are times we think grow hard skin for the possibility of getting an RFE but what supercedes is Faith that whatever happens the Lord is in control. We hope to be together in November and its never easy being far away from the one you truly love.I am from Uganda and I wish everyone the very best through this journey. Sometimes waiting for the NOA2 feels like the hardest part in comparison with the interview.I tell myself that once we are approved at USCIS I can start all plans and surely feel'

  8. One thing I have come to accept is that an RFE sometimes help clear the future of any worries and setbacks.if you get one you have the opportunity to fix or clarify anything that maybe the OC at the interview may question and ask for depending on what he problem is. Plus you will work on what they are asking for and this too will come to pass and you will move forward.

It's not the best feeling to get an rfe sorry about that but it's going to be okay. Lets see what they are asking for and I hope you can share.
