    Hello Group,

    sorry I was offline for a bit.

    I was in Vietnam with my fiancee for the interview, WE PASSED.

    We are both in the USA now. just got in late last night.

    Thank you Sooo much group for all the information.

    FYI the question that got asked:

    -How we meet?

    -what i do for a living?

    -where i live?

    -how does her family fell about our age different?

    -ask to look at some of the pictures when I was in vietnam with my fiance?

    -ask if my fiancee have relative in the USA?

    @icon: I think nguyensteve is still waiting for the interview. HIs fiancee is scheduled for Sept 18th, 2015, if I am not mistaken.

    I met my wife only once and we had our engagement ceremony & reception a week after I landed in Da Lat. But we had tons of engagement pictures and of us together, along with receipts for everything (ring, hotel, restaurants, tours, airline, etc.) We were lucky that everything went smoothly with the exception of the Packet 3 that we never received.

    I believe everything happens for a reason and if you are meant to be together, nothing will stop you!

    That is correct steve. The moral of the story is that you need to pay coffee money. We aren't so we have to wait because those that paid gets priority. There is no way in hell that none of us get the interview date while others getting theirs and they pay about 1700. I know this because my friend's wife got hers date within 2 months.

    1. coffee money to who, because ,, DS form is done online.

    2. coffee money to who,, because paying for Visa is via Post office or HSBC bank.

    3. Then go back online at the Visa to select the date for interview... this is where I am confuse,,, so currently right now, you paid for the VISA and there is no days to select for the interview???

    NVC schedules interviews given by the consulate in HCMC for IR1/CR1.

    I though that after DS from , and paying for the VISA fee, you can login and select the the interview date.

    So, that is where I am confuse and lost on this thread,,, when you paid for the Visa, and login ,, there is no day to schedule the interview????

    I talked with my lawyer today he told me that it wasn't necessary to show pictures of the engagement because it's often mistaken for wedding pictures ? And said he won't add the pictures to the packet, he will add pictures of proof that we were together during my stay in Vietnam & most of my pictures are time stamped. All he said that my fiance & I need to do is to write a statement about how we met and when and how did we fell in love and where. He also wanted me to print out all the texting history from skype, line, & facebook. I have saves all the text history, my old airline itinerary and tickets. Should this be enough evidence to prove our relationship ? I will be returning in a few months to purpose our marriage to our parents and let them talk and see if they will accept us marrying etc..... Then I will return again in a few months to do the engagement ceremony and hope it goes to plan when she receives her visa then we will return to the U.S. together and get married.

    - did all paper myself no lawyer.

    Status update for our k1 visa

    So we got approved. Yesterday, Nhi and I left Vietnam. Today we are sleeping in my bed (shes already sleeping, since shes been sick for the past couple days - visited mui ne, went swimming). :)

    With regards to POE, we entered through Newark. It was extremely easy. At customs and immigration, I told them I was her fiance and that she didnt speak any English. They let me go with her to the visitors section, then when it was our turn, she had her finger prints taken. We gave them her passport and the brown package. We were then taken down stairs for processing. After bringing us down stairs, we joined others and waited for our name to be called. After about 15 minutes, they called us up to the counter, asked when the big day was (which I said i didnt know yet, but I plan to get the certificate first then plan the wedding after), and finally congratulated us.

    After being given back the passport, we had to get our bags re-checked, which was just pulling our luggage about 30 feet, so nothing difficult there.

    All in all, we're finally in the US together, and everything went pretty smoothly. A huge thanks to everyone here as I wouldnt have been able to do the paperwork and everything without you guys.

    How'd you manage to get an interview less than a month after NVC?! It's usually about 3 after you do your ds-160. Your whole process looks like it went really quick..It's been a year for me.

    Anyways, I bought it before.

    once you paid for the visa and it is approve you can log back into the visa, and schedule for interview.

    Note, I saw available interview as early as this month August, but I did not choice, as my Fiancee still need to get medical exam ,, and I plan to fly back for the interview.

    Based on your info, your interview wont be until late october probably (if not later). Embassy will say the visa can take up to 3 weeks to get issued. I'd wait until you at least have an interview date.

    I bought her ticket for 3 weeks after the interview to be safe. Once she has the visa in her hand, I will call and have the airline change the ticket.

    Hey Steve... We're having interview next week... already looking at ticket (EVA)... econ is around $800 and deluxe $1400... BOL with your interview brother!

    PFred... Seeing you just had yours, could you give us the scoop of how it went and questions and stuff like that! Mucho gracias!!

    group, what is best to do , buy air ticket now, or wait until we pass?

    Note that you can schedule as soon possible after paying for the visa,,,from last time I check there were available interview as soon as Aug 17-18,, we did not choose them as we still have medical and vaccine to take care off before interview.,,, Also, I am planning to fly back to VN to be with my fiancee for the interview.

    Slow down and do the follow, I just when through what you are asking.

    1. check for your HCM status at https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

    2. if it show ready ,, example 4aug2015, your fiancee will get the confirmation paper in 10-14days

    - in the letter it would point you to http://photos.state.gov/libraries/hochiminh/231771/PDFs/K-INSTRUCTION.pdf

    3. in the mean time you can create and login to complete the DS160 and print out.

    4. at the same time you can create an account at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in prepare for your fiance to confirm that she got the letter.

    5. once confirmation from your fiancee, complete http://www.ustraveldocs.com/,, and print out visa payment, she can paid at the local post office in Vietnam,

    6. After about 24-48 hours, your should get an email that payment is receive and you can log back into http://www.ustraveldocs.com/to schedule the interview.

    7. have your fiancee print out the interview confirmation, and follow the instruction , to get medical exam. ... this is we are at.

    By the way ,, we are schedule for interview on 18 sep 2015. wish me luck and pray for us.

    Hello everyone,

    I just received an NOA2 stating the expiration day will be 11/28/2015 and on the way to NVC. I just wonder if I can schedule an appointment somewhere on May/2016 instead? I want to be with my fiancee when she has the interview, CO seems to be favor if petitioner accompany in my country.

    not sure why you want may2016,, but is best to have things done asap, as docs do expire.
