  1. I highly suggest not filing with the made up social. Not only could it cause you issued, but the person who could rightfully have the social may not receive their tax refund. Incredibly irresponsible. he needs to use his rightful number

Right, he has never filed with a fake social security number. He only used that number to get the job and the place he worked employs many illegals, they don't E Verify.... He always filed his taxes with his ITIN number.

I don't think everyone is understanding my question at all...

He never filed taxes with a fake number. Yes, he is going to use his new valid social to file taxes. My question is that he has a W2 from his previous employer with the fake social on it. I need to know if we should have this corrected with his valid social number or just file our taxes and not do anything else.

  2. Wow, I didn't expect this from this forum... Yes my husband used a made up social, but the last time I checked many illegal immigrants do this to work and as long as they only use it for work they are not prosecuted. My husband only used it for work, never for anything else and he always filed taxes and paid.

Second, the reason I said two of the places I called were racist was because they went on and on about how they hate what my husband did and they wished the illegals would go away and that's the problem in this country now, and on and on. If anyone knows about what we are going through, it is the people on this forum. Maybe many will say my husband coming here illegally was wrong, but they don't know his whole story or what we also just went through to get him legal. The time, money, fear and anxiety.

No one has answered my question though, there is not a lot of help or advise for people in our situation that received waivers. We have a unique set of challenges going from him being here illegally and now being legal. We want to do the right thing and I don't always trust what tax places say as a lot of them don't know what they are doing and again our situation is not common.

I was hoping someone on here perhaps had a situation similar to ours and could maybe give some advise.

I wish you all the best of luck in your journeys.

  3. Hi all. This is our first year filing taxes with my husband being a legal permanent resident. Question, my husband received two W2's, the first one with his former employer that he used a made up social security number and one from his new employer where he used his new valid social security number. In the past, we have filed our taxes together and I have just used his TIN number not the made up SS# and we have never had issues.

My question is, is there a way or a process to have his former employer reissue his W2 with his new valid SS# or can we just file our taxes with his new valid number and claim the income from the W2 with the made up SS#?

I have called some tax places and they have been very racist and indignant with me saying he needs to have his former employer change his SS# and reissue the corrected W2, but we don't want to have to do this if it is not necessary. And if we do, we don't want them to report him for using a made up SS# on his W4....

    Thanks!

Hi, did they just do the chest xray for the TB test or did they also do a skin test? Thanks

  5. My interview is next Thursday, believe me we are so nervous too. But as everyone is saying, if you have all your documents and a bonifide relationship, I don't think they are looking to deny cases. My husband still can't remember my phone number! Ugghhh..... We have been married almost 4 years! We fly to Nicaragua this Saturday and so much is on the line as we have a complete life here in the US already, and now we are risking everying to leave. But we knew this would be the hardest part at the end, to risk leaving. I just keep telling myself that we will be approved, There is no reason to deny us and that we have gone through so much to get to this point for the last year and a half. I am excited to see my husband's home country and he has not been back there for almost 12 years. Good luck to everyone and God Bless.

  6. Our interview is next Thursday in Nicaragua.... will post about our experience....

Question though, we have an approved I-601A waiver... we fly out this Saturday to Nicaragua. Has anyone here flown from the US back to their country with a foreign passport with no entry stamp? There are no direct flights, so we have to fly from Las Vegas to Houston, then Nicaragua.

I am reading on places that my husband could be detained???? We will of course have our interview letter, approved I-601A waiver, approved I-130 etc. to show. Just a little scared. Thanks

  7. Hello all, has anyone ever received a police record check from their Country and all it says is that you have a record but not what the record is?

I am asking becasue we received my husband's record and instead of it saying Does not have a History, it only says Has a History (No Posee Antecedentes but is says Posee Antecedentes)

It has no other information or anything. I would think that if he had a record (which he does not) it should say what the record is. We are hoping this is only a typing error, but are hesistant about flying back for our interview not knowing. We are tryting to follow up the police department and speaking to attorneys out there, but is hard being in a different Country,

Has anyone here received their record and they had a record? I want to know if it said what the record is? Or did it just say you had a record or history with no other information.....

    any help is appreciated!

  8. Hello all, has anyone ever received a police record check from their Country and all it says is that you have a record but not what the record is?

  9. I have the original because I opted for Electronic Processing. The NVC technically only has copies of all of my documents, so I have to bring the originals of most of my documents as well as a copy. If you sent the original by mail, then definitely bring the copy to the interview. I'm not quite sure if it's a problem that you sent your original I-864 to the NVC, but I'm sure that someone that also did mail processing can answer this for you.

Yes, the new I-864 is on the USCIS website. The edition is 7/02/15.

    *Edit*

Also be sure to check the application after you fill it out and print it. I noticed that certain boxes weren't checked and certain spaces didn't have what I typed in them. It's no problem to write in what you need even if you typed in everything else, but definitely check over the form!

Great thanks. Wow I don't know what i would do without this site! I would have never ever known we needed to do another form... I can't imagine us going to Nicaragua and being told at the interview we needed it and didn't have it! ughhhhhhh Anything to make our lives more complicated LOL

  10. On mine, I just put my husband's name, since any mail sent to that address would need to be opened by him. For the dollar amounts, I would round to the closest whole number, although you can always write the cents in with a pen after you print it out. I don't think it would really matter that much, but I think you will be fine either way.

My case was closed on 8/25/15, and I had the same question. VisaJourney people told me that I should fill out a new I-864, and I also called the NVC to see what they wanted me to do. The rep I spoke to said that it would depend on the Consulate, but she said that filling out a new I-864 would be the best thing to do.

When my husband goes for his interview, he will have an original and copy of the I-864 that was initially sent to the NVC, as well as an original and copy of the new I-864.

There could be a chance that they don't need the newest I-864, but to be honest, I'd rather bring it than risk going through Administrative Processing because they need it.

Oh, ok.... but how do you have your oringina I-864? Mine was sent to NVC, I only have a copy. Also, do we just go to the USCIS website and download a new form to fill out? Thanks

  11. I just talked to NVC and they said that all September interviews have been scheduled, they are now working on October. My case just closed 8/17/15, and our interview will be in Nicaragua... I don't see very many people from Nicaragua on the interview spreadsheet, so it's hard for me to determine how long we will have to wait.... The rep advised me that they sent a request to the embassy for an appoitnment and that they are now waiting to hear from the embassy for a date. I hope the date is in October! We started this process in April 2014, we are so ready to have it done. We are lucky though, at least my husband is here with me, for so many others that is not the case. So I will count my blessings and be patient lol
