Hey guys so this is rather a unique situation.
I've gotten my citizenship back in January. I also changed my name. I tried calling SSA to set up an appointment because I don't want to mail my certificate...and they said it's not emergency/urgent so they wouldn't be able to set it up.
Now I have to file 2020 tax and what name should I use? and do I file as citizen or permanent resident?
I will wait until SSA open to update my information there so...any advice?

Oath Ceremony Letter showed up in Documents tab online.
August 20, 2020 in the Memphis Field Office.
I was hoping it would be here in Little Rock, but I said yesterday I didn't care if we had to go back to Memphis to get it done.
Congrats Rick!

Can someone add me to the spreadsheet?
Long time lurker but my patience is running out. Why is everything so complicated? Predicted net deficit, now it's surplus. And furlough pushed till the end of the month.
I have seen many of you here waiting since January as well. It shouldn't take this long if they can just uniformly agree on rescheduling policy. Some states start scheduling while some only do Oath. Chicago for example are not doing any interviews, but they are doing Oath (Not Judicial). Texas for example doing Judicial oath where the judge talks remotely via a big screen. So why can't Chicago do the same?
As a university student, I had everything planned out, was hoping that the process could be completed by August before my semester starts. The pandemic is unfortunate but this is just ridiculous.
This whole thing is just a mess all around, so much incompetency from head to bottom. It adds so much unnecessary stress to my daily life.

Yes and no it will not delay your wife's case.

It's for one person. You can use one account and pay for your family members though.
You should pay it before your spouse get to US.
Edit : You won't be paying any more money , it's the final step.

I was about to change my name then decided not to. I will instead wait till i am able to naturalize , it looks easier.

Sorry for my ignorance but is this CEAC website y'all are speaking of the same as nvc.state.gov??
No they are different.

You don't have to send the original documents to NVC anymore , you are required to bring the original documents when you have visa interview.

You can visit or he can visit , some would just video calling at least my friends did that.

You don't have to worry about that as soon as she arrives there will be signs for US Citizens and for Non Citizens , in my case there was a lady stand there in front of the lines and check your status and tell you where to stand.

Some states require Immigrants to apply for SSC manually even if you have selected the option in DS260 , go to your local SSA office with passport and apply. You should receive it within 2 weeks after applied.
