  1. We went to SSA this morning for the card and she said his EAD is not valid and a card can not be issued. I asked if this was because it is too soon and she said "I don't know these things wait four weeks before calling to see if it can be processed" When I asked if it would be automatic sent or I had to come back she gave me a look that that said...shut up you idiot...but only said I have no information about that if you do not hear anything call in 4 weeks. No I am in a panic because I am hoping something else is not wrong. I know some people have said they had to wait but his card was approved 4/28 and its almost two months later. Anyone else have this? On a good note we were in and out in 10 minutes when I expected a full day affair.

Hi! I went to change my name on SSN after I got my EAD just a couple of days I got the card. They said was too new and they could not find it in the electronic files. They gave me a letter that will take between 4-6 weeks. After 3 weeks came a letter home that they were able to verify everything , and I wil have my new SSN card in 1-2 weeks. came in a couple of days after that letter. So be patience, they need to verify with uscis all your info and takes time to uscis send them the approval. That's what a lady from ssn local office told me so even if they go through your application still have to wait for other approvals from uscis .

  2. Oh okay. geeez! hopefully they can re-schedule as soon as possible. I'm more anxious now, lol! i've waited for a while now, good thing i have my 2 1/2 months old baby girl that's why im not tempted to check my status from time to time.

My allowable stay has already been expired since April 29. The good thing is once married to a USC you're allowed to stay while waiting for the AOS.

Yeah, I hope I will get an update soon.

Congratulations on your baby ! I bet keeps you busy.

We are moving tomorrow to a new place so I have that keeping me busy and also next week I start my job . :D

  3. USCIS are really funny. Today lucky me I got 2 letters in the mail. One is with the details about the interview and the second one is with the cancellation of the interview due to unforeseen circumstances. I already new that was canceled but I was curious about the reason because yesterday I called them and they said that the local office canceled and they do not know the reason. Hoping that maybe they will approve my green card without interview :))) but I do not think so .

    More waiting now.

    Going back to packing.

    Moving day tomorrow.

    Congratulations on everyones lately updates!

  4. Good morning!

Yesterday early am I got this email:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On June 7, 2016, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC****. Your interview is on July 14, 2016. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by July 7, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

This morning early am like yesterday I got this update:

  6. Oooooooo! How exciting. You are one of the lucky ones! I am about to go and check my mailbox now. I wasn't going to today just to avoid disappointment but now you have me hopeful. When was your EAD approved?

I do not remember when was approved , I remember was mailed on april 27th and was in my mailbox april 29th. I think I did not had time to see when was approved because they send it right away after approved

  7. Well I WAS excited when I got my EAD approved as I was thinking the card would come in the mail shortly after that... However it seems everyone is having to wait up to an additional 60 days? Has anyone received their EAD card within a week or two of the approval notice?

    Hi,

I got my EAD card came in the mailbox just a few days after showed that i765 was approved and took 2 days for the usps to be send

  8. The mail truck is outside my house... today is day 30 since my EAD was produced. If the mail person doesn't deliver my card today then I'll be on the phone with USCIS. My green card interview is a week from today...

Good morning ! I have a quick question. for I 485 status still says that as April 13th my case is ready to be scheduled for interview . Do you know by any chance how long takes to get the appointment letter for the interview in the mail?

  9. Hello all!

I got my EAD card in my hand on 4/27 and on 5/06 I went to change my name on my SSN . Today after 3 weeks I called the ssn office and they said that they just got the confirmation from Homeland Security , because when I went there they said that my card was too new and they could not find me in the electronic files. The lady she told me probably will take 1-2 weeks until I get my new SSN card and after that finally I can get a job :D .

  10. Hello everyone!

Very happy with this forum . I know everyone is excited for more updates, I cried and I saw my work permit in the mailbox. :) I think the delays depends on the office that you are and your history. I live in Seattle and I was nervouse because here all the big companies like Google, Amazon, Micosoft take over the USCIS office with their visas for the employees .

Have patience and enjoy your very day next to the love of your life because I do and I never will change anything because I FOUND HIM. :)

    Have a nice day !

I want to let you now my timeline:

    I-485, I-130 , I-765 package delivery: 3/4/16

    NOA1 Hard copies: 3/14/16

    Biometrics letter: 3/26/16

    Biometrics appointment: 4/06/16

    Case ready for interview: 4/13/16

EAD in the mailbox : 4/27/16

  11. Hello ,

On April 13th my case status changed to Case is ready to be schedued for an interview, for my I485 application that i filled in March 4th. I called uscis today and they said that they still working for August cases. How long takes for them to send the letter for the appointment for the interview from the time that they change the status online? I am just worried that would get lost in the mail and us not to attend our interview in Seattle.

    Thank you

  12. Hello,

I went to Social security today to change my last name on my card but because I am out of status I was not able. Now that we have the money and most paperworks ready I am confused on what last name I should fill the forms. I have a social security card when I had a J1 visa but I changed my name everywhere beside ssn. Should I file for GREEN CARD with my new last name and only the Form I765 for Emplyment Authorization with the old last name, since was not able to change it on the card?

I really appreciate your help and if you have more questions I would be happy to answer so I could get the help I need.

    Thank you.

  13. Hello,

This forum helped me a lot getting all my documents together to apply for a green card after getting married with the love of my love. :D

Due to some financial issue we were not able to apply sooner.

    1. My passport expires in March. If we send all the documents in February is still good or I have to get e new passport?

    2. I did the Medical Exam in June. Do I have to redo it or I can use it if I apply in February?

    3. I have my SSN on my old last name. Should I change it to my last name that I have it after marriage?

Thank you for looking at my questions and maybe help me get over this stressful process. :)

    Have a nice day everyone!
