  1. Jamaal...where do you go to check the CEAC status? When I google CEAC and go to the site, input my case number it just says "At NVC". My case is closed with NVC. Am I looking in the right place for my case status or is there somewhere else that gives more detailed information?

You check the status on the CEAC website, you are looking in the right place. It shows "At NVC" because your case's file is right now at the NVC, even though your case is complete/closed with the NVC the file will remain with them until you are scheduled for an interview at the Us embassy. A couple of days or a week after you are scheduled for your interview and you get your p4 letter, the status will change to "IN TRANSIT"; that means your case file is on its way from the NVC to the embassy. When it reaches the embassy and is received by the embassy it will change to "READY" for interview. It will remain "READY" untill your interview, after the interview it will change or may not change depending on how your interview goes.

  2. It was just issued on monday afternoon, am hoping to get the text from Aramex either on Wednesday or Thursday.

    Am sure it will switch very soon buddy, just hang in there. Mine just haapened in a bolt like speed;

Apparently on Saturday the 24th i was updated (a weekend mind you), then on sunday at around 3 i was updated again, at 4 Sunday it changed to AP.

On Monday it remained in AP, at around 4pm i checked it again; and Lo! and behold there was the heart-stopping magic word, ISSUED.:joy::joy::joy::joy::dance::dance::dance:

  3. I was approved at my interview on the 25th of August, was asked to mail in some docs, did so almost immediately and the embassy got the papers.

it has been more than 6 weeks after mailing in those papers, my status has been updated like 5 times from the interview date, whenever i e-mail the embassy about case status i get " file with the officer for his review, once we finish our procedures, we will process the case to conclusion" as response.

Any one been through this b4? does the officer take this long to review a file or is this covert AP?

If you have been through this, kindly shed some light. How long were you on wait?

  4. Inshallah, but I'm going to Egypt next month, Inshallah to be with my husband for 2 weeks. Haven't seen him in two years so very excited to be with him again. Will give us new-found encouragement for the last leg of our journey, alhamdulilah.

That is really cool, its positive that you guys comfort each other through this process as it can be trying sometimes, especially right now as you near the end, #staystrong #staypositive #stayasone.

  5. I'm a newcomer in this thread; Our case complete is 10/5/15 and I expect we'll be waiting months like everyone else to get an interview. AP seems to be equally long and dreadful.

Don't wanna break your heart but Egypt is kinda tough, give your self roughly 2-3 months b4 you get an interview, that is on average.

Of course on the brighter side lady luck could be on your side and you get an interview pretty soon In sha ALLAH...I pray for you.

  6. Hi smartbenz, am in the same predicament as you here in egypt, had my interview on the 25th of August till date no visa yet.

ceac status reads ready 4 interview, sucks big time.

No phone # 2 contact the embassy, no e-mails r replied, the silence deafens you, the uncertainity drains you.

I guess US missions in the MENA region r all f'd up.

I do get updates though, was last updated 30th september, when was ur last update?

i contacted my local senator's office, am waiting 4 a feedback.try that too, you may get some feedback

I wish us all only the best and quick resolve to this mess, it just doesn't make sense.

dear VJ fam if u out there reading this and you have been through this situation b4 please help shed some light, how long b4 u got the visa?

  7. Thank you so much!

Actually my fiance tried to call the NVC but they told him they have nothing to do. The case is related to the embassy now.

But his friend has been through the same experience, he went directly to the embassy, however, they didn't let him in but they admitted that it was an error!

So I don't think contacting them is effective in my case they are very slow and unorganized. I should go to the embassy in person. :/

YES no point calling the NVC, its out of their jurisdiction, the case is wholly in the hands on the embassy.

You should go to the embassy in person, i actually did coz they messed with my travel docs.

  8. We had our interview on the 20th of Aug. I do not know how my husband sent in additional information but he mailed it by the 23rd and it was there per his records a day or two later. However, it was Sept 9th before our CEAC site updated. I cant say it was the paperwork or what cause an update but I do know our file was touched somehow.

Mine too was updated yesterday and they actually called me asking me to mail them a copy of my petitioner's passport.

when i asked the lady if they had any reason 4 holding onto my visa any further, she said no. So am mailing them the PP on Sunday and hopefully visa in hand next week.

    will keep u posted

i wish us all good luck.

  9. Hello there,

I had my interview on the 25th of August, all went well, was told to send a document through aramex which i sent on the 27th of August and according to the track number it was delivered on the 31st of August.

Astonishingly the embassy replied to one of my inquiries and said i should send in my doc 4 further processing of the case.

How long did it take between when you sent a document and when you confirmed its receipt by the embassy?

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi Bombo,

Reaching out to you here fam, it's really unnecessary the stress caused by the incompetence of this embassy's staff.

What sucks most is the uncertanity about everything, they take pleasure in causing others pain i guess.

I had a long wait 4 interview, from April to August!, finally at my interview on the 25th i was approved and given the 2 weeks lie.

I was told to send in temporary travel documents from the red cross as i could not obtain a passport from my local embassy here in Egypt.

i sent the doc on the 27th of August and they received it on the 31st of August.

After countless e-mails to the consular section, finally i got an answer yesterday, was told to send in my travel docs 4 further processing of the case!!!!!!!!!!! :huh2::huh2::huh2:

Mind you the travel doc was already delivered to the embassy.

Has anyone sent a document to the embassy after his/her interview, how long does it take before its received by the embassy?

So, i guess that is the nature of this embassy, incompetence is there motto.

So just giving you a shoulder here, we in this ###### together, i can only pray you get the visa ASAP and be re-united with your loved one.

I spoke to my lawyer over the weekend and he advised that we approach the senator's immigration liason offficer as we can obtain a clear picture of our case through that way once the promised 2 weeks pass.

So i guess you should really do that. This is my 3rd weeks and my petitioner will visit the senator's office at the end of this week.

Keep heart, i will keenly follow your timeline. keep posting.

  11. I am afraid you need to be physically present in Egypt to obtain police clearance as it is your finger prints that will be taken. The good news is that you can obtain the police clearance plus an english translation which is mandatory in just 2 days. Thus maybe you should come to cairo a substantial time before your interview is scheduled. If you dnt know your way around, i will be more than happy to help.

    Regards
