Called the USCIS on Friday. Some how I managed to talk to Level II officer. He told me my background check result was received a day after the bio. He was gonna put a request in for my interview processing.

JimmyHou, what is your best guess regarding timeline for "In Line for Interview" Been 2 weeks since my bio and haven't heard anything yet. I see people getting placed in line couple of days after their bio. You may have hinted on this before. Thanks for your insights!

The trend seems to indicate that you could be placed in line for interview as soon as your background check is completed. Some people got placed couple of days or weeks after the bio. But the trend also tend to generally show that you don't get your interview until after the anniversary of your GC. So for the most part I tend to agree with JimmyHou's observations.

it could be that the miami field office is busy so that they couldn't schedule your biometric yet. hang in there, it will come. It happened to me earlier this year during the I-751 process. then my field office was Jacksonville. they're so backlogged that I didn't have my bio until after three months.

I went to the Hialeah Field Office. They do oath ceremonies and all that. They have other things going on as well when I was over there. I think its an actual USCIS branch. We can only hope we get the quickest response possible from our various centers.

That's about 5.5 months. So with 2016 as election year as you rightly pointed out, we can be optimistic of say a 4 month turnaround.

Ha .... I did a similar thing for Washington DC filings only I reviewed about 18 months of data and came up with a projected timeline of 174 days from start to finish. I completed the process in 168 days (i.e.from date of filing to the oath ceremony) so was pleasantly surprised that I beat my forecast by 6 days.

I suspect the momentum will pickup in 2016 because we are heading into an important election year.

Ok thanks. That sounds really insightful. We shall see what happens.I am March 5th. on the optimistic side i should hope that the whole process should come to conclusion probably March ending. My ASC has oath ceremony once a month.

Any extra benefits for early Bio? Does one get earlier interview schedule? Just trying to gauge previous trends and experiences!

They asked me to wait bcos I did a walk-in otherwise it was a breeze for those who were scheduled for the day and time.

Early Bio done today 12/28/15. Had to wait for 3 hrs but no regrets.

I plan for a walk-in biometrics. Any potential pitfalls with that? Please share your experience. Thanks all!

I called the same number and the gentleman transferred me to tier 2. I realized over time that, sometime it comes down to how I frame my issue and how persistent I come across.

Just being proactive. Called USCIS today. I am scheduled for Bio on January 5th, 2016. Will update NOA as soon as I get the letter in the mail.

I got a citation from NYC back in 2005 for urination in public. I didnt contest it but was made to pay a fine of $50. I am trying to get the record from NY supreme court but they are unable to locate any record regarding the citation. How can i get this record? Is this gonna be an issue during the N-400 interview? I said yes to the citation question on the N-400 form. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I sent mine on 12/07/2015 to Lewisville TX and my local office is Oakland Park FL. Resident since 03/05/2013.
