  1. Dear All,

I'm not quite familiar with the NVC process and beyond after I130 approval for my wife. I was looking at NVC process flow chart and I'm confused after that. I would like to mail all the paperworks from the US and not to have my wife take any burden of mailing anything to NVC.

Couple of questions from the flow chart:

    1. Is this flow chart is current and valid?

    2. Do I have to go through every steps in both tracks identified in the chart?

    3. Is there any steps which would require NVC to send anything to my wife?

    4. Can I assign myself (petitioner) as an agent for my wife's (beneficiary) immigrant visa application through DS3032? If I can, does it mean that I'll be receiving all future correspondence (petitioner) from NVC?

    I would really appreciate help.

    Thanks.........VJ rocks!

    Congrats on the I 130!!!!!!!!! (F)(F):dance::dance::dance:

    1) first of all your wife has to designate you as the agent...........so have her download the form or email a letter stating that you are her agent to the NVC- then you will start receiving everything here!!!

2)once that is all done with than you will need to follow both tracks( yes the flow chart is current and valid )..........one for the ds 230 visa and the other for the Affidavit of support.

    3) all the steps you will be responsible for from here.

There are shortcuts that you can take here and there and they were posted by aussiwench (lorelle) but i cant seem to find them..........hopefully someone posts the thread here!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck with everything!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:star::star::star::star:(F)(F)(F)

  4. Just a quick note that I checked the automated messaging at NVC this morning and it has been changed. It now says they have received my checklist response and please allow 4-6 weeks for processing (as always).

It would seem that the fax option worked.

    Ed

:D:D:D Thats great.................Lucky u............I sent in my fax befor you did and i just called NVC and they told me they wont accept the fax and i have to send it in when i recieve the checklist..............Why is it that you always get different answeres from NVC............. :(:(:(

  5. :crying::crying::crying: I was just wondering if they have recieved your fax yet or if you have recieved the checklist in the mail...........I too was mailed a check list on the 29th but i knew about it befor hand so i faxed the missing info on the 29th...........however, NVC has not matched the fax to my case yet and i have not recieved the checklist in the mail............Should i be concerned???????????? :help::help::blush:

You faxed missing info before getting the checklist? I doubt very much that they would even accept the missing info via a fax. I would be giving them a call and speaking to an operator. Other then that all you can do is wait for the hard copy in the mail and then return what they have requested. It has only been a few days since it was mailed out so give it time. All the best

Thank you aussiewinch............Your always there helping out........ :star::star:

  6. Hi All,

I have had a SERIOUSLY bad day. Sad. lonely, missing my beloved and tired-bad combo !

When I came home from an overbooked day at work, I decided to phone up the NVC to see if anything has gone on with our case since Thursday...

They received the last of our paperwork on April 24th.

When I phoned up, I was informed via automated response that a "checklist" was sent out yesterday. Apparently, there's some missing/incomplete info. I was devastated. I know I dotted all my "i"'s and crossed all of my "t"'s... I am so upset...I figure it will cost us yet another week or two sorting this out...I thought we were in the last lap of this miserable stretch.

So, knowing I'd find some strong shoulders here-I decided to post my lament.

I found a thread from Legaleagle-the same thing happened to her, Mary and Angel this week...when Mary and Angel spoke with operators, they were told that their cases were complete...

Is there anyone else that this has happened to??

I pray that this is the same problem for us and when I call them Monday, they will say that our case is complete as well...

Please send us some good energy...we really need some today. :(

    Thanks.

  7. Hi,

Sorry for the delay in answering. Yes, they told me what documents over the phone. They told me only one. If there are more I won't know until I get the checklist.

As to faxing it in dadowanana, do you think I can fax it in before I receive the RFE in the mail???

    Ed

(F)(F) I was told i could fax it and they gave me this number: 603 334 0791.. However I have been told but advisors that its sometimes better to wait for the checklist............I faxed it........Can not wait anymore :star::star:

:D I found out on Thursday night that i was missing information for my AOF packet............I called NVC and they told me it was a letter of employment for my househould member...........I had originaly sent one in but it wanst on company stationary(uppppppppppppppps) But the operator told me i could fax it over and I did on Friday............all i had to do was write my case number on the letter and ATTN CMR..............call and see if you can also fax it(saves mailing time)..............Good Luck (F)(F)(F)(F)

  9. it's the immigrant visa bill. You pay it and then get DS230

Thanks. But I'm still unclear. The check should be made payable to whom, to the Dpt. of State, or to who else? And the check must still be a cashier's check or money order?

Knowing it's hard to get a CC or MO here, I intend to get it from the US, so by the way, when I have someone in the US go get one for the bill due now [the Affidavit of Support (I-864) Processing Fee Bill], I'll tell him to get one for the IV Bill due later on if this bill must also be paid by CC or MO, then send both of them here for me at the same time so I could be more ready and I could save some bucks for DHL/Fedex/UPS fee which is very expensive.

Yes both checks need to be made out to Dep of State!!!!!!!!!!!!

But you dont have to have them made here...........you could go to any american bank in vietnam and have them do you a money order......you dont need to have one made from here.............

  10. I spoke with NVC and they told me that the AOS was missing letter of employment for household member. The person who told me this said i can fax it. I called today to make to make get the fax number and the one that answered said that i could not fax it and had to wait to recieve the check list in the mail......Should i fax it or wait for Checklist???????????

  11. Congradulations..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay now the next step is for you to get all this stuff ready............start working on it so that when NVC request it you will have it.

2 cashiers check......one for 70 and one for 335(but you could hold on and wait till they request this)

get form I 864 if you will sponsor your wife ready..

IF you need a co sponsor have him fill out another I 864.

Get yours and your co sponsors taxes and w2 forms ready for 3 years back.

Get a letter of employment for you and co sponsor ( a recent pay stub will do)

have wife get ready ORIGINAL birth certificat (if not in english have it translated and notorized )

have wife photocopy biographical page of pasport.

have wife and you prepare death certificates of divorce certificate if either of you were ever married.

have wife prepare police clearence letter from every country she has lived in ever since reaching the age of 16.

also have wife fill out form DS 230 part I and II. only sign part I and part II will be signed at time of interview....

If you start working on all this from now you should have it ready when NVC asks for it.(saves time...) Good luck............

  12. i recieved the AOF and the DS 230 together and i was instructed to send them together in the same envelope. HOwever I called NVC earlier and they told me that my AOS was missing the letter of employment for my household member. I had my dad as a house hold member and there fore included his income on my AOS. He owns his own business so i was wonder what the letter of employment is. I did original get a letter from my dad's lawyer and accountant stating his employment...............guess that was not good enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I Submitted my AOF packet along with my DS 230 Part I and II :star: . When i check the case status thru the automated system I am informed that NVC has received My DS 230 but when is still waiting for my AOS or AOS fee bill. The bill was paid before they even sent me the AOS packet and the AOS was sent with DS 230. Does anyone know why NVC has not entered the AOS in their system yet??? :help:(F)(F)(F). Also if they received the file on the 21st of april when could i expect them to have the case completed and ready to be mailed overseas? another question.........I am filing for my husband in Cotonou, benin- how come in the time line entry place where they have what embassy i'm filing at it does not have Cotonou or even Benin???????? :(:(
  14. congratulations :D on completing your case. Hope the interview goes smoothly.

I was just wondering.....How long did it take NVC from the time they received I 864 packet to complete the case? I sent in the I 864 and the biographical data with all required document and NVC put it in their

system on the 21 of april. How long for them to review the documents and send interview appointment? :help:
