Hello all out there........My husbands interview was way back in july of 05 and he was put on AP.......Since then i have moved to west africa to live with him ........I'm 6 months pregnant.......I'm happy to be with my husband and to be having this baby but as all might understand, the living conditions here are horrible...........no decent hospitals to have the baby..........i'm planning a tirp to the US to deliver and i was wondering if there is anything i can do to get my husband a temp. visa to be there for the delivery.........Also DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY AP IS TAKING SO LONG...........everytime i call i get the same answere.." just call back in 2 weeks" "there is no way of telling how long it will take" and so on............has anyone been in this situation,,,,,,I think a year a 5 months is a pretty long time for AP........

  3. I was put on AP on july 5 and it's truely one of the worst experience in this process....I have a question ........I may be jumping ahead but does anyone know what happenes if they refuse you a visa after this check..........How long do you have to wait to reaply............I'm already starting to lose hope.........Well Best of luck to all!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Well I called DOS this morning. There was only a 3 min wait :) I didn't catch the ladys name that I spoke with but she had a very strong accent.

She asked for the case number, then didn't verify anything. She came back on the line and said that the check is still pending in Washington DC. I asked how many checks there were and she said "Ma'm there are various checks and various agencies. What does that mean?

I am going to call back again and maybe I will get the nice lady Rose. I think if I get this woman again, I will hang up. She was very short ~ Bordering on Rude!!

    Joye

I'm sorry to hear that joyeann.....She ansewered my call too and I asked for her name and she told me it was Sue......than I asked for her employe ID because I did not like the way she was speaking to me and she said she could not give that out for security reasons......He is the one that always answeres me she is so rude......I was so frustrated once that I started crying and asked her why she was in a hurry to blow me off and she replyed because "there is nothing she can tell me and i'm just gonna keep on asking questions" than i told her that Its her job to answer my questions and I will ask as many questions as I need to becuase its only natural of me to be concerned.........After that she was a bit more nicer but I would still concider her the rudest person i have ever talked to throughout this whole process.........

Hope I get this Rose that everyone seems to be happy with........

    Best of luck!:):)

  5. My husband just completed his interview and the officer told him that everything is complete but the case has to be sent to Washington. He told him that once washington Okay's it they will call him back.

His interview was in Cotonou, Benin. What does this all mean????????

Is that their way of telling him nicely that they can't grant him a visa...........Please reply back ASAP

  6. Hi there,

I know I am asking alot currently, sorry for that. I just checked the homepage of the German Consulate and there is nothing stated what happens after NVC sends the completed case (CR1) to the embassy. Do I still get a so called Packet 3 and all that? And if so...what is included?

    Greets Isabel

Well I just had my case forwarded to the Embassy in cotonou and am awaiting my husbands interview on July 5........I'm so happyyyyyyyyyy:):)

This is what happened with us..

On may 18 case was completed....

on June 5 case forwarded to US consulate........

On june 10 case arrived.......and The consulate called my husband and told him to come in for paperwork

He went and they asked for 8 photos and informed him that he would need new police clearances since they expire after 2 months.......

When he returned with the 8 photos they gave him the medical papers(considered packet 4)

Now if you Have not filled out the A of S than the consulate will call your husband for the medical paperwork (packet 4) and give him a checklist for the A of S (packet 3) for him to bring with him to the interview.............

Hope I was of any help.........

    Good luck :):)

  7. Hi dadowanana!! Congrats on your interview!! I don't have a lot of answers for this one, I am sure someone will swing by that knows what to do :)

I would just keep calling the lawyer...squeaky wheel gets the grease

Maybe he can send the letter to and you can scan it and email it just to be on the safe side... depending on how long it takes mail to get to your husband.

I couldn't get my husbands interview letter to him, so I had to scan it and email it. It isn't on any kind of special paper or anything, just a bar code on top.

    Joye

    Thanks !!!!!!!!

one more question...........his paper for his doctors appointment ...........are there any special ones that he has to take with him??

  8. I woke up today and called NVC just to ask if they consider this the second week of the month(because that's when they informed me they schedule app) so that i can expect to get an appointment scheduled and they told me that MY INTERVIEW IS scheduled FOR JULY 5TH AT 8 AM............I am so happy!!

    I, however, have a dilemma !!!!!!!!

I have a lawyer on the case and he is good for nothing........I always have to stay behind him and call and let him know where my case is at so that he can prepare the paperwork.........I have done almost everything by myself. NVC requested RFE on april 28 and when i found out i let the lawyer know he should be expecting it in the mail. And I called NVC twice requesting that they resend it because the lawyer insists that he hadn't got it. He called me yesterday and told me that he just received it in the mail(but i find that hard to believe) thank god i had taken care of it on my own. also when i was waiting for my AOF packet to come in he stated that he received it a month after NVC had sent it(also hard to believe). I have come to the conclusion that he is a month behind in his paper work and barley ever opens his mail so I called NVC and asked if they could send the interview packet to me and they said they couldn't because they had to send it to the agent in charge!!!!!!! I'm scared my lawyer may not open it in time for me to send it to my husband so that he can schedual the doctors app. Is there anything I can do?????????

  9. Hello,

My name is Randy; this is my first post on VisaJourney.com. I hope that I am not causing too much trouble by cross posting this to the different visa options. I just don’t know what to do, which visa I should apply?

First off, this is a neat site, it is good for people to read and help this procedure which seems can be very complex. Also if anyone would like to reply my post, please do so in the K-3 Spouse Visa Discussion, then we are all on the same page.

Okay here is the situation. I am a single man going to China to meet my girlfriend Lei. In the event I like her, I am planning to stay for a year and teach English and marry Lei. If I don’t like her, I may stay and seek other women. So assuming I love her, and want her to be my wife. I would like to marry her, soon. So when I do marry her lets say 30 days after I get there, then I will stay for a year and would like to go back to the states with her. All my friends say that I need to do a K-1 that a K-3 will take years. But according to the timelines it seems each method would take less then a year. But can I do the K-3 paperwork while living in China? Or is this something DCF would fall under? This is the timeline I would like to follow, obviously it’s not up to me, but this is perfect world.

    Fly to China 6/16/06

    Fall in love

    Ask to marry 7/16/06

    Get married 8/16/06

    Start work

    Start Visa paperwork

Leave China with my bride 9/1/07

Is it possible? Probably not, but what would be closest to it. You see once I decide to marry, I would rather not leave my wife, ha! Also if you’re curious we have been emailing and chatting for about 4 months know. She lives in Nanning, China.

    Thanks again,

    Randy

Ok well good luck with Lei or whomever you find.......... (F)

A k1 visa are for those who are engaged and a K3 visa is for someone who married however it can not be filed out side the US. People in the US follow the K3 option instead of the CR1 rout because it saves time since it allowed for the spouse to come to the US and apply and receive his visa here...

If you were to file in China you would definitely have to file under DCF and that should not take long suppose all your paper work is in order.....

IF so these are a couple of things you would need in china

    Your passport(obviously)

your tax returns and w2 forms for the past 3 years( I have heard that they only require the past year now thought)

    your birth certificate

    proof of your relationship

and the rest you can get from there (her papers and marriage documents):star:

I am also waiting for NVC case completion, last week they received my DS-230

if they received your case last week........and if everything goes well and nothing is missing that you should hear something by the end of this month.............hopefully.............but don't get your hopes up.............this is just my analysis according to previous cases that i have followed.....:):)

  15. :D:D I called yesterday nvc automated machine and it stated that i had to wait for visa number to be available...

Couldn't sleep all night thought i had to wait months more....So I called NVC and spoke to ted today and asked him why i had to wait for a visa number since i filled for CR1 and he stated that it must be a mix up and apologized and did say "however case has been completed and expect to wait 2-4 weeks to have a interview scheduled"...Finally............from the time lines i have been following on visa journey i can expect to have an interview in july.....hope others waiting for case completion to get it soon.........Good luck

    With love and support,
