  1. wow congrats himanshu! So happy for you!

Im all nervous and excited and stressed! I am trying to prepare my documents, going to make it perfect!

MarioC3, I got my AOS interview notice on 25th Feb and 2 days later got my EAD notice. I came here with K1 Visa and Adjust of Status after.

That's not me.. I am still waiting for my EAD approval and interview date. :clock: It sucks

You will do just fine in the interview, Good luck with it.. :)

  2. It has been a long and stressful journey but thank God I can do my happy dance now :dancing:

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

Ah, that's awesome. GC without interview and so fast.

  3. Welcome to the club. My NOAs were back on 9 Dec and I'm still waiting for my EAD. You might want to file a service request next week as you'll have hit the 'approaching regulatory time frame' point (75 days) - this might see some action on your work authorization.

    [Edit] Oh, right. :time:

I see.. Did you file using "Case outside normal processing time" option on that service request page? Or is it something else?

    Thanks man..

  4. Hey guys,

I submitted my AOS in Dec and USCIS and got the case numbers on Dec 22nd. I did my biometrics on Jan 26th and USCIS website was

updated again on Feb 2nd, saying my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

However, no updates since then. My EAD case was last updated on Dec 22nd and it is going to be 90 days soon. Anyone else, with similar dates

    and approved/not approved EAD?

    Thanks..

  5. The embassy said that they received his medical report (which was received two months before the email), and they are working on assembling his final visa package for issuance. They said since they have a lot of cases, it may take a few days before it's finalized. They also called him my client! :ranting:

They have been working on his final issuance for the past 28 days and we've been 21 days without an update! I seen at least four new cases that were updated either two days ago (Sept 29th) or last night (Sept 30th). Previously they all were in "Ready" and now two of them are in "AP". They were created in the early half of June; created about 50 days after us. Based on Internet chatter, these cases had their interviews in September.
I know in my head that comparing yourself only steals your joy, but my heart sinks each day I wake up and I see "READY" and September 10th. I want to believe that it will change in a few days, but after 28 days of that hope, your joy starts to fade anyway.
    It's coming! It's coming. It's coming.... It's coming???

You should get the actual status from the office of congressman.. They can pull out the actual status for you..

  6. Now I worry as my petition expires on Oct 9th 2015 and I don't think i will be able to travel before this date. I have seen some cases here

on VJ forum, where people were denied at POE because their petition expired even though they had a valid visa. This is scary.

Anyone knows how to get my petition expiration date extended ? Better to be safe then sorry I think..

  7. Same here.. Was approved on Sept 9th and since then CEAC status is Ready for interview..

However Status updated date has changed to Sept 22 from Sept 9th.

Also the passport tracker website now says, No status update available on the passport number submitted.

When I email ustraveldocs support they have the generic response with no real updates > Your case is being processed..

    Frustrating..

  8. My case status on CEAC website is still the same "Ready", however Status updated date has changed to Sept 22 from Sept 9th.

Also the passport tracker website now says, No status update available on the passport number submitted.

When I email ustraveldocs support they have the generic response with no real updates > Your case is being processed..

Anyone else had a similar experience?

    Thanks

  9. Hi,

I would like to know if anyone else have had a similar experience after their K1 visa interview.

So, I had my visa interview on Sept 9th at New Delhi embassy and I was approved. The interviewer gave me

two papers, one of them was generic "congratulation, your visa is approved" paper and which also read that I should get the visa packet in

    next 3~5 days.

The other paper was regarding USCIS fee which I must pay after receiving my visa packet.

Since Sep 9th, it has now been 9 days and there is no status update on ustraveldocs status checker website. It still says case creation

date and case update date as sept 9th and the case status is "Ready" (for interview).

I have been emailing ustraveldocs and finally got a response today, 18th Sep, which reads like this :

    *************************************************************************

Your application remains pending under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act for mandatory administrative

processing. U.S. immigration law requires that additional steps be completed in some cases before a file can be advanced

for adjudicative review. In general, most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview; however,

timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case.

The Department of State is continuously working to expedite visas. Please be assured that we will contact you as soon as the

processing of your case is complete. You can also check the status of your visa online at:https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/.

    *************************************************************************

Now this is ridiculous. I don't know what they are doing, they won't tell me the specific reason, why my application is pending under 221(g)
even after approval and what I should do next to get the process going.
Also, at the embassy, on the interview day, their employees who took my papers, returned form I-797 as well as past years (except 2014) tax papers.
God knows if they want these back, but it's clearly not my fault.
Has anyone had such experience? If yes,I would like to hear, how it got resolved and how much time it took in your case/s?
    Thanks
  10. At the time she was naturalized, she was a dependent and that's why there is no other document provided to her then the naturalization certificate. The naturalization certificate

mentions both her names like this > "old name" AKA "new name". She has all her documents, bank account, degree, passport on her new name so it's really odd to ask for another legal document, which

    she doesn't have.

it would be un-necessary expense if she has to go the court and now apply for name change, just to get another document. We are trying to find out what we can do and if by law, USCIS can accept or not, the naturalization

certificate as a legal document. There are some friends, who used the same certificate in the past to sponsor their fiancee's and got it done without any issues, so I wonder if the person checking our documents reviewed it properly or not.

  11. My fiancee (us citizen) just received the mail containing my RFE. She had submitted her naturalization certificate for her name change evidence

The notice says that she needs to submit a legible copy of name change evidence as her name is different on her naturalization certificate and passport.

However, her naturalization certificate has both the names in the format - old name AKA new name, on it and it should be sufficient evidence. In the notice USCIS has sent, they have even wrongly typed

    the previous name.

This is really frustrating as she doesn't have any other documentation to provide for her name change. What should be our next steps, has anyone else faced the same situation?

    Thanks
