Congrats to all the folks who recently got approved.
My interview is scheduled for Oct 17th and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what documents I need to take with me? I have seen some checklists, but all of them are different, which as you know is getting really confusing for me. Also, mine is a K1 based, do I need to get my medical done again?
You should take what's in the checklist given in the interview notice from USCIS and ignore all other checklists elsewhere. Photos, marriage certificate, insurance, credit cards together etc.
You will not need to do medical again if at the time you submitted application, it was still within one year limit.
The interviewer did not approve my case right away for the same reason as my medical was done in Aug 2015. But in 30 minutes after I left, my case status changed to approved.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Good luck tomorrow! Maybe I'll see you there. I'm a bit anxious to get it over and done with.
And we are officially approved! Not stressful at all
Hey Congratulations! We are officially approved too.. Phew, was nice and easy.
I couldn't figure who you were in that hall full of people.. lol
My status has changed to Card being produced, can't wait to get in the mail.

San Diego, downtown. I got the mail today for it so I'm sure yours will arrive soon
Got mine today. Same timing, 8:15 AM downtown San Diego, hope to see you there
-
8:15on September 19th. You?
Awesome, that's kind of early in the morning though. I haven't received the letter yet, so don't know yet.
Is this at the Chula Vista location or San Diego?
-
Interview scheduled for September 19th over here. Time to prepare mentally!
Congrats and Best of luck for the interview! I too received the notification for my Sept 19th interview.
Looks like they are now processing Dec 3rd week cases here in San Diego.
-
Congrats to those getting their interview letters and receiving green cards. I'm still stuck
at "Ready to schedule an interview" status and finally was able to submit
a service request today. God knows, how much time will it take to get a response but
hoping for the best..
-
Green Card received, in hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to those of us still waiting. Good news will be coming soon. I was stuck on Fingerprint fee received since Dec until today. Status update card was delivered.
Awesome!
Does anyone know the processing time for Chula Vista service center? My biometrics was done there but now when
I try to check the processing time, it always gives me a blank page..
Thanks

I received my welcome letter today for my I-485 . Approved! no update online, no text message, no emails but I am happy.
Wow, congrats. That's a great news.. I hope to get an update on my gc soon..
-
Hey guys,
Any ballpark idea, about when they schedule interview? I had the last update on my case on Feb 2nd. It said ready to schedule for
an interview but nothing after that. Can't submit inquiry either as it won't accept telling under normal processing times.
Thanks..
-
I'm on the same boat.. Already more than 2 months since I last received an update on my AOS
saying it's ready to schedule an interview.
Going to call on Monday but I don't think that's going to help much.
Anyone has any idea if I can submit a service request for this as well (i-485)?
-
EAP/AP approved two days after the ombudsman told me the submitted an inquiry to USCIS on my behalf. Now I can talk to all these recruiters calling me.
Congrats neoblast.. Finally!
-
Congrats to all who have received their EADs and GC.. I hope all of Dec '15 filers get their EAD within March..
I got my EAD card on Saturday and now awaiting my GC interview date so I can be over with all this USCIS zazz.
-
Thanks guys. keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully I won't need that info-pass March 30th.
It sucks.. Reach out to your congressman's office, it really works! Even though they can
only get a better response than us, it results in USCIS picking up your case and processing it.
You can even just fax them the authorization form from their website (Google it).
-
How´s that "service request" works? and since what day you start to count it if you had and RFIE/RFE?
I applied 3 months ago, and this being sitting at home it is K I L L I N G M E !!!!
You can submit a service request after 75 days have passed since last update in your case.
If you have received an RFE, I think it gets reset to the day USCIS received your RFE and notified you.
I think after your RFE is accepted, it shouldn't take long to get an updated status.
I hope you hear something soon!
Haven't heard anything about AP, but also didn't do a service request for that.
Hey, did you check your AP status after that? I just got another text saying my AP is approved too.
-
Hey Himanshu! That's fantastic news - congrats!!!
I'm just curious - how did you go about making a service request via your congressman?
Day 75 is next Sunday for my case, and I would like to put in a service request the following day. Was hoping to ask congressman to do it, if it really does speed things up.
Thanks so much!!
Thanks, it's a big relief.. lol.
I submitted service request myself a week ago from here:
https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt
You can find the website for your congressman on Google and
there you will find a section to contact your congressman for case inquiries (It's not specifically for USCIS but for many other federal things)..
You will need to a fill out a simple authorization form and fax it.. You can also call them and ask if they accept it over email..
My congressman office representative told me to wait this week before she can send an inquiry.
Hope this helps..
-
Finally, got an email and text.. Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
-
EAD update! New Card being produced
Awesome! I am still waiting for an update..
-
Day 80 over here! Service request still not assigned to anyone which is quite irritating!
You should get in touch with your congressman and send a service request through them. It works in most of the
cases. I did mine yesterday, although I haven't heard back from congressman's office yet..
-
I should have gotten mine when I got here but I didn't and I'm certainly regretting that now.\
I need to start applying for jobs soon.... any leads for me in SD county?
Is your Congressman Scott Peters as well?
You can still go for it while waiting for EAD, atleast one more thing will be checked off the list..
My congressman is Duncan Hunter, I just downloaded the authorization form and gonna fax it to them shortly.
I have seen in the forum that service requests coming from congressman's office always work.. Also,
they helped me during my K1 visa application too..
-
himanshu.pnt who is your congressman? I did everything online with my congressman, filed the authorization papers online and faxed them with receipt numbers. saved me a trip.
You should check their site and visit the help section, you might not need to go there.
Hey neoblast,
Thanks for pointing that out. I just downloaded that privacy form and gonna fax it to them today.
-
That's what mine said before I did the service request.
Yes it is quite ridiculous! I really thought we would get it this week. At this rate I won't be able to get my drivers license until April! Argh. I just want to start working and get out of the house and contribute to society.
Also, the whole not knowing anyone here thing is frustrating. I miss my friends and family.
I already got my temporary driving license but I can't get any further until I receive EAD. I plan to
go to congressman's office tomorrow and see if they can do something about it.
I have to turn down job offers because of this, which sucks..
-
I filed mine the same way. The thing I quoted is in the "Next Steps" section when you check it on their website while logged in.
Ah, I see.. I just signed up and my Next Steps says this :
"If we accept your case, you will receive a receipt notice. If we reject your case, we will send you an explanation with instructions."
This wait is ridiculous.
-
Glad your service request was completed! I hope you hear back soon.
As far as I can tell, mine hasnt even been touched. My case status says "As of March 7, 2016, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number ************* is currently not assigned for processing."
Should I have called instead?
Hi,
I am just curious about how did you submit your service request? My case status is not changed but I received an email
which is one line reply that says:
"The status of this service request is:
Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly."
I submitted my service request using this link >> https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt
-
I submitted mine today as well.
Let me know if you find anything out, Chula Vista buddy!
Hey mdcatelli, I got an email from USCIS yesterday which said my case is currently under review
and a decision will be made shortly. No other updates, God knows how short is their "shortly".. lol

Yeah, that guy said he will have to look as he didn't have much idea about it I believe.
That's awesome, I also got a text that they shipped. Finally, this stress is over for us.
