  1. Congrats to all the folks who recently got approved.

My interview is scheduled for Oct 17th and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what documents I need to take with me? I have seen some checklists, but all of them are different, which as you know is getting really confusing for me. Also, mine is a K1 based, do I need to get my medical done again?

You should take what's in the checklist given in the interview notice from USCIS and ignore all other checklists elsewhere. Photos, marriage certificate, insurance, credit cards together etc.

You will not need to do medical again if at the time you submitted application, it was still within one year limit.

The interviewer did not approve my case right away for the same reason as my medical was done in Aug 2015. But in 30 minutes after I left, my case status changed to approved.

Hope this helps and good luck!

  2. Green Card received, in hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing::goofy::dancing::goofy::dancing::goofy::dancing::goofy::dancing::goofy:

Good luck to those of us still waiting. Good news will be coming soon. I was stuck on Fingerprint fee received since Dec until today. Status update card was delivered.

    Awesome!

Does anyone know the processing time for Chula Vista service center? My biometrics was done there but now when

I try to check the processing time, it always gives me a blank page..

    Thanks

  3. How´s that "service request" works? and since what day you start to count it if you had and RFIE/RFE?

    I applied 3 months ago, and this being sitting at home it is K I L L I N G M E !!!!

You can submit a service request after 75 days have passed since last update in your case.

If you have received an RFE, I think it gets reset to the day USCIS received your RFE and notified you.

I think after your RFE is accepted, it shouldn't take long to get an updated status.

I hope you hear something soon!

Haven't heard anything about AP, but also didn't do a service request for that.

Hey, did you check your AP status after that? I just got another text saying my AP is approved too.

  4. Hey Himanshu! That's fantastic news - congrats!!!

I'm just curious - how did you go about making a service request via your congressman?

Day 75 is next Sunday for my case, and I would like to put in a service request the following day. Was hoping to ask congressman to do it, if it really does speed things up.

    Thanks so much!!

Thanks, it's a big relief.. lol.

I submitted service request myself a week ago from here:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

You can find the website for your congressman on Google and

there you will find a section to contact your congressman for case inquiries (It's not specifically for USCIS but for many other federal things)..

You will need to a fill out a simple authorization form and fax it.. You can also call them and ask if they accept it over email..

My congressman office representative told me to wait this week before she can send an inquiry.

    Hope this helps.. :)

  5. I should have gotten mine when I got here but I didn't and I'm certainly regretting that now.\

I need to start applying for jobs soon.... any leads for me in SD county? :P

Is your Congressman Scott Peters as well?

You can still go for it while waiting for EAD, atleast one more thing will be checked off the list..

My congressman is Duncan Hunter, I just downloaded the authorization form and gonna fax it to them shortly.

I have seen in the forum that service requests coming from congressman's office always work.. Also,

they helped me during my K1 visa application too..

  6. That's what mine said before I did the service request.

Yes it is quite ridiculous! I really thought we would get it this week. At this rate I won't be able to get my drivers license until April! Argh. I just want to start working and get out of the house and contribute to society.

Also, the whole not knowing anyone here thing is frustrating. I miss my friends and family.

I already got my temporary driving license but I can't get any further until I receive EAD. I plan to

go to congressman's office tomorrow and see if they can do something about it.

I have to turn down job offers because of this, which sucks..

  7. Glad your service request was completed! I hope you hear back soon.

As far as I can tell, mine hasnt even been touched. My case status says "As of March 7, 2016, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number ************* is currently not assigned for processing."

    Should I have called instead?

    Hi,

I am just curious about how did you submit your service request? My case status is not changed but I received an email

which is one line reply that says:

"The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly."

I submitted my service request using this link >> https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt
