  1. Hi All

I moved here in 2015 on a K1 and married my wife in November.  We filed for adjustment of status right away.

We didn't hear anything after the biometrics until April of this year when they had scheduled my interview.  I had the interview at the beginning of May which they said they are just waiting on FBI checks to come back and he would approve the case and to expect a response within 2 weeks.  Now nearly 8 weeks on we're still waiting to hear

I've been in touch with my local congressman throughout the process and just had the response from them that there are issues with the background checks which require extended review.  Now I have a DUI from the UK which has been declared every step of the way and was brought up in the interview to which the interviewer said he has deemed it not a crime of moral turpitude.  Would this be causing the extended checks or is there just a large back log?

Has anyone else experience excessive delays?  What should I be expecting?

    Thanks for your help!!

  3. Hi All,

As of today my EAD has been pending for 91 days. We raised a request with them earlier in the month and they told us today that we can't raise another request for information until 30days after the first

Has anyone else experienced a slow EAD approval or have any advice on how to proceed

This is now affecting job offers

    Many Thanks

    James

  4. Hi All,

I am finally in the US (Woohoo) and married my fiancé however when we got all our documents together for the AOS and the EAD etc and posted this through recorded mail the post office has lost the parcel somewhere in transit

A case has been opened with them and they are investigating as it was tracked to the Chicago depot and then never left.

The issue we have is that we sent in original documents such as the Police Certificate from the UK and my Vaccination records from my medical

Now, the Police cert I have applied for again so that's just annoying but I can't get another copy of the medical. We photocopied it before we sent it in so is a photocopy going to be good enough for the application? Or how do i go about getting another set of documents

    Many thanks

    James

  5. Hi All,

I have done some searches but can't find the exact answers I'm after

I have my interview booked in next week however the i-797 expired on October 4th. My fiance as posted a new statement of intent to marry dated 10th October which will be here this week but is this enough. I have contacted the embassy but not heard anything yet. Do I need anything more than a recent statement of intent to marry?

Point number two, I've been going through the affidavit and I have it all together with pay stubs IRS transcripts and 401K information. Do we need more than these 3 items for the affidavit? I have read conflicting information that you need bank account details but also that these parts are optional for the K1 affidavit.

    Thanks for your help guys!

  6. Hi All,

I completed my medical on the 9th July and completed the DS160 and readiness form around the 26th of June. I have just had confirmation that none of the forms or any record of the medical has been received.

Has anyone else experienced this? I have gone back to them with dates but I don't know what else I can do

Should I be looking to do another medical exam?

    Thanks

    James

  7. Hi All,

I have just gone through teh medical process and currently waiting an intervie date.

Obviously my employer knows my plans to move and is willing to keep me on a UK contract but allow me to work from home for my first two months in the US. This would allow time for us to submit all our forms and get married before my income effectively stops The aim is to limit the amount of time between the end of my employement for my current employer before being able to apply for a role in the US

As I would still be on a UK contract and being paid in to my UK account is this ok legally to continue to work from home even though I wont have a work permit in the US and that is where I will be

    Thanks :)
