Did either of you receive an answer on this? My husband's GC expires 8/29/2018.
I did some research online and came to a conclusion that you can still work even if your GC is expired. Although your physical Green Card may expire, your lawful status as a U.S. permanent resident does not. Also, i read some where that once you have a green card you hold legal status in the U.S. until you abandon or lose it. Since, we already filed for I-751 and it has not been declined, we didn't loose legal status so we can still work in U.S.

If CSC is very backed up , and my wife’s green card expires 7/16/18, will she have to stop working until she gets NOA for the 1 year extension They received file on 6/8
I have the same concern. They received the package on June 4th and green card expires July 16th. Anyone know if you can still work?

Thanks you. That makes sense to me.

My fiance has a interview in 2 weeks and we were going through some of sample questions. One of the questions is "Why aren't you getting married in India?" I couldn't come up with a proper answer. I was wondering if anyone was asked this question in an interview and what answer did you give.
Thanks,

Hi,
Seeking an update on your case... I was wondering how soon was the first available interview date to get a general idea on how long it takes from NVC approval to interview date in India. I was excited to stumble upon your post because your about two months a head of me in the process and was wondering the timeline.
cheers,
Sara
I just updated my profile. i applied at the Mumbai consulate and the first available date was in 2 weeks. There was appointments every 2 weeks on the calendar. If you are looking at december, currently there are 3 dates open(5 slots each) but things can change. There are 2 slots open in November. It took me about 25 days from NOA2 to getting checklist (package 3). I got my PCC 2 weeks after checklist. I got medical done 2 weeks after PCC.
Feel free to ask any questions. Best of Luck!

Awesome. Thanks guys for the information.

Okay thanks. One more questions. When you go for medical interview, do they ask for confirmation that you have scheduled an interview first?

Hi,
I searched but i couldn't find the information i am looking for. I applied for K1 visa in July 2015 and 129F was approved and the file was forwarded to NVC and to the American consulate in Mumbai. My fiance received a checklist from American Consulate in Mumbai saying she can do police clearance and file ds-160. We finished everything. My question is will the American consulate send another letter saying we can now schedule an interview? or do we assume that the file is ready and the checklist is the proof?
Thanks

Hi Shai,
I'm in the same boat. I haven't received any information for biometric. I applied at CSC. Where did you apply?
