  7. I was told last week by the US embassy in Osaka,Japan that I could translate it but it needed to be notarized if i was apply for the I-130.

They gave me a template.I had to bring an original wedding cert, the translated copy,my passport and 25 mins later it was notarized.

    It was expensive...$30 bucks....

  8. Hello,

I just sent my I-130 to Cali uscis today from Japan via fedex.I want to do the K3 route. Do they send this I-797 letter to home via regular mail or is it a certified letter????Why do i ask...I might be traveling in the next few weeks so id hate to miss this letter if the requires my signature to pick it up at the post office.

do send the 1-129-f to the chicago office or did it change like other things???

So...i have to begin preparing an I-134 Affidavit of Support and not the I-864 right?? So i do send this somewhere??

Tax question??...i want to know if i need to include my foreign W-2's with my us tax returns?? If, yes, do i need to include a translation on how to read my Japanese W2's??

Thanks for anyone who can help??

  9. Thanks riblet..

For the money order can't you just use the address that you will be submitting the forms to? Or will they not cash it if the address doesn't match or something?

I want to get a money order from post office because thats my only available option to pay for the $190 I-130 fee.The post office requires a physical address ..ie from the DEPT of Homeland security....but i dont know this address....can someone give me some advice....i dont have checks because i live in Japan.

I think that visitor visas don't usually receive an A number, but I guess your wife can check in her passport to see... I'm not sure about this.

I checked her visa...VISA TYPE R CLASS B2...i didnt see an alien number...

At this point you don't need a notarized copy of the marriage certificate, but I would think it would be better to have someone else certify the translation just to have a neutral person do it... but anyone who can translate should be fine.

The lease sounds like good evidence, I'm not sure what else people are sending... but the affidavit from a mutual friend sounded like a good one to me too.If i choose to include an affidavit..what should it say...specifically...??

We have both been to each others country as well, I went to meet her family in 2003 and she came to pick me up from the states in

2004 because i went for surgery. So we have visa for each country.

What about including a copy of the police records..or should i wait??

    thanks again

  10. Hello,

I have question about the money order i have to send to pay for I-130. In japan i can get a money order from the post office but i need to have an address but i dont see one for the dept of homeland security. I dont have checks because they were not used in Japan. Does anyone their address??

    ***other questions***

Does my copy of my passport and my spouses need to be color copies? or is B & W ok???

G-325-A File A (do i leave this blank for me and my spouse??)

Alien registration number?? I assume me NONE for me since im a USC.My spouse came to US once on as a visitor. So, i think she might have an alien registration number. Can you have one coming on a visitor visa??

Do i need a notarized copy of translated marriage cert?? Or can my wife just make a certified doc(that she signs and dates) stating she can translate it + a the japanese cert and the english translated cert????

additional proof of this relationship. I plan to send a copy of our apartment lease. It has both our names and we have lived at this place for over 2 years.Do you think this is enough??

    Cover letter,

Should i say "I am filing this petition on behalf of my spouse who wants to move the US with me.This is for a k3 visa.Do i need to inclide anything else??

i hope someone can answer these questions for me.

    Thanks

  11. OK...so none for me.

I assume none for me on the alien REg. number too right or N/A

My wife came on a tourist visa...so i guess she doesnt have a alien REG. number either...should i but none??

So...for both me and my wife ....choose other and k3 right??

    Thanks riblet

You do not have an A number, so put NONE. It is unlikely that your wife has an A number unless she went through some sort of visa process before (other than just a visitor visa).

For both forms put other: K3 visa or I129F petition for spouse.

    Good luck :)

  12. I was wondering if anyone did they own taxes or could share some insight on these forms.I am living in Japan and ive been here for 5 years and i have filed but i will do this asap.2002,2003 would be me filing as single and 2004, 2005 and 2006 me filing jointly.

I know i have to file the 1040 and 2555. Did anyone out in VJ land file their own taxes without paying for a tax expert??

And one more thing..since im living in Japan, when i submit my w2's to the irs..do they need a translation of my foreign(japanese)ws'2 ?? I know what the yen value was for the last 5 years and i fiqured i would include this as well...

I know once the tax docs are done, i will include those completed forms with a w-7 app for itin for my spouse.

so, i wondering if anyone can help me?

  13. I have a few questions about the G-325a for my i-130.

1a)file number A? I am a us citizen born in the US...do i have a file number A??what do i put here for me??

1b) what about my foreign spouse?

2a)the box with the 3 options(naturalization, status as P.R, or other..since im a us citizen..what do i choose for me?

    2b)what about my foreign spouse?

3a)What about alien reg. # if im a us citzen born in the US?

3b)what about my foreign spouse...she came to the US one time after we got married.(I had to return to the states(im living in Japan) for knee surgery and she came for 1week and we flew back to Japan together.

    thanks again....in adv...

  14. Can I type and use a black ink on the same I-130 document???

    is this ok

    or

should i make a continuation sheet?? If so, HOW do i exactly?? Do I just print out a blank form and and complete the document and sign it...i couldnt understand the directions on the i-130 sheet

( I couldnt fit my wifes (state/country) in the provided space

....she is laioning province...which is like a state in China )Can I just say China?? Thanks..sorry for the double double post

  15. Do you think DCF will become an option again soon?? If so, would it hurt by sending my I-130 now?? since they are wanting to be a little more strict in checking the backgrounds of the people involved??

I will am waiting to file my taxes for the last 5 years...i havent done it and i will need to get a tax ITTN for my spouse.I think i have found a Acceptance Agent in Japan that can help me and i might have them file for me too since i am clueless on how to file my taxes.I know i am exempt but i still have to file.I wonder if this Acceptance Agent can get me the tax ITTN faster.?????

I read somewhere where someone file their TAXES as if they were single and then sent the irs and adjustment letter that would include their spouses w2 stuff and status as filing jointly. Does anyone know if this is possible??? or is this a bad idea???

  16. Hello,

I was wondering if anyone who has recently mailed their I-130(+ supporting docs) to the USCIS CALIFORNIA office can help me?? could help me clear up a few things.Im sure this will be helpful for others as well with the changes due to this adam walsh memo and change!!

I think i understand what to do with apply for visa for my wife(who is chinese but living/working in Japan with me of course.)Since we have just learned that DCF is no longer an option, i assume we have the k3 or ir-1/ce-1 are my only 2 current options.Right??

So...if i am correct...I now have to now file my I-130 to a uscis office in California right??

Can you tell me if i am missing anything from here??I dont want to send my info and have it rejected because i forgot to include something.

I believe i dont have to send the original but only copies right??
