  1. Yeah I plan to do the same. Tuesday will be day 75 if I start counting from all my NOA1 dates.

We will contact our representative after that. I am hoping that they will be able to speed up the process.

Btw Pasquel what did your sentaor's office tell you about the I-485 and interview?

They just said that the I-485 is marked ready for interview but my case status still says "Recieved fingerprint fee". So I guess I just wait and see.

  2. Can anyone who has reached out to a congressman/senator explain how the process works?

Since yesterday was day 75, i asked for a service request, but they mentioned that USCIS has 30 days to respond, which seems insane to me. :-)

Do you contact your senator, or congressman? And if so, how? Over the phone? Email? Visit the office personally?

Hoping to try some sense of where things are, because they seem to have just stalled.

I opened up an inquiry and contacted my Senator on day 75. I called and emailed my Senator. The Senator's office got back with me the same day, they had me fill out a privacy form to allow thier office to make an inquiry to USCIS on my behalf. Within 24 hours the Senator's office gave me a status on all my cases (485, 130, 765 & 131), than an hour later my case status for the EAD card changed to card in production. I like to think it was my Senator that pushed this along rather than my inquiry to USCIS..definitely think it is worth it to try!

  3. Well that is really good news. It also means you do not have to worry about RFE.

So Basically your case is ready to be scheduled for interview but no one updated your case status. I have a feeling my case is in same situation. Lets keep waiting and hope for the best :)

Thanks RnZ, yes I'm hoping that means no RFE too. Best of luck with your case too...the waiting is tough but worth it:)

  4. That is good news. Congratulations

We also plan to contact our representative in 10 days.

BTW what update did your senator give you about your I-485?

Thanks RnZ. They addressed my I-485 & I-130 together, although my case status has not changed for "Ready for Interview" I am optimistic:):

According to the system the two cases listed above will be adjudicated together and these cases has now been mark ready for interview and placed into the scheduling queue, once the field office schedule the cases for interview. The applicants will receive an appointment notice telling them what date and time to appear for their scheduled interview. Please do a follow up in 30 days to see if or what decision was made to move this case forward.

  5. EAD approved and card/document production, as well as AP approval yesterday afternoon. This was 79 days from NOA1. I made an USCIS inquiry on the 76th day and wrote to my Senator, not sure which if any worked lol. However, my Senator did get back to me with an update of all 4 cases at 1pm yesterday and within that hour my case status changed for the EAD and AP. I like to think his office pushed this along but not sure. Either way very happy:).

  7. Pasquel, unfortunately our cases are assigned to "not-that-quick" office. According to timelines of a few members of this forum, it will take about 4,5-5 months from the date of "ready to schedule interview" status. One of the attorneys I spoke to gave me the same timeline for the entire process--9-10 months for the Denver office.

Have you heard anything about your AOS? Is it ready to be scheduled for the interview?

No, nothing yet. Last action was biometrics on April 2nd. Hoping to hear something about that EAD/AP soon as I'm around 78 days.

  8. So if my status shows "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview," it does not mean that interview may be very soon? I am with Denver office and according to everybody's deadlines, it takes at least 8 to 9 months from the date of submission to the date of an interview. Any thought?

Only thoughts I have is "That's great"!! My local office is also Denver and I submitted my AOS around a month before you and I am waiting for any kind of case change...not even an EAD approval yet :(. I was told the by a lawyer the average interviews are at about a 10 month waiting period. Great news for you!!

  9. Today marks the 76th day of waiting on my EAD/Advanced Parole combo card approval. According to USCIS after 75 days this is considered out of the normal processing time. I have opened up a inquiry via USCIS and of course was told to wait another 30 days for a response. I have also reached out to my local congressman/senator to assist in moving this along. Fingers crossed, will let you know if any of these actions helped  .

  10. Found this on the USCIS processing times site, thought it could be useful for this forum. We can now inquire about the EAD card after 75 days vs. the original 90 days.

Important Information About Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization:

You can now submit inquiries about the status of your Form I-765 after your case has been pending more than 75 days.

  11. I understand your confusion, a lot of AOS from Non-Family Based Visa applicants make this mistake and post in this subforum instead of the other one.

On this website 99% of the AOS cases are via marriage. However, the owners of the site decided to make 2 seprate sub-forums for K-visa (Family Based visa) AOS applicants and all the other visa AOS applicants.

K-1 is a family based visa (fiance visa), our relationships already went through scrunity and an interview at the US embassy in our home countries. Our AOS process is different, for example we don't have to file I-130, we already proved that our relationship was bonafide before we came to the US, at our US Embassy interview.

People in that other sub forum are all adjusting through marriage as well, so you will find plenty of cases like yours.

Ahhh, that makes complete sense. Thanks again for information and good luck to you as well!

  12. HI,

  13. This sub-forum is for Family Based a.k.a. K-visa AOS applicants. Please post in the "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student & Tourist Visas" sub-forum. There you will find cases like yours.

Here is the thread for the March 2015 AOS filers in the "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student & Tourist Visas" sub-forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/539080-march-2015-filing-for-aos/

    Good luck!

OK, will do thanks. Thought it was considered family based as it is not a work sponsored AOS, I just happened to be on a work visa but am getting my GC via marriage.
